Jun 3, 2011Since updating to GB, my browser and text windows won't auto rotate to landscape anymore... Have check & rechecked all the settings.

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Auto-Screen Rotation Is Not Working
Jul 4, 2011I have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.

Oct 26, 2011I had this happen every time on my X2. And now on my Bionic as well. But, anyone type a text messate in landscape, select the 'Send' button, and then rotate it back to portrait and see that your last word is still in your text field? This happens in any website text field as well. If this has been covered somewhere.

It would be so much easier to do that as a shortcut, rather than having to go to settings etc every time to turn it on and then back again to turn rotation off.requently I want the screen to rotate for just a couple of images, and then flip it back to static. Aug 14, 2011Up until about four weeks ago, things were just peachy on the Auto Home and Navigation screens. Now, no matter what the brightness widget is set to, when I have my droid docked on the windshield, I can't see the menu(s). Also, the navigation screen is MUCH darker, but managable. Both these changes took place at the same time.

On the HTC Dinc, when reading an article or something on the phone, if you pinched to zoom making the text larger, it would automatically reformat to fit the width of the phone, so you didn't have to scroll right/left to read the entire line. The MAXX HD doesn't seem to do this. If I pinch and zoom in on text, it just makes the text bigger but doesn't reformat it to fit the width of the phone, so I have to scroll left/right to read the entire line.

Motorola Droid X2 :: Loss Of Notification Sound?
Nov 8, 2011I have a Droid X2. For the past couple of weeks, I have lost notification sound at times throughout the day. The phone is not in silence mode and nothing has changed. I will notice it is vibrating without but there is no notificaiton. If I turn the phone off and back on, the sound returns.

Apr 8, 2012I am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.

Motorola Droid Razr :: 4G Signal Loss/Data?
May 3, 2012almost since day one, i have not really had the pleasure of enjoying what 4g signal is really like. i'm in chicago, and when ever i'm either downloading music or streaming video (netflix, Internet) or downloading anything that requires data, the phone completely loses the 4g connection and takes at times up to 5 minutes for the signal to come back. if i keep the phone on 3g only it does not happen, but that defeats the whole purpose of having a 4g device. the "data saver" in settings is off.

Jun 9, 2011I have had this problem for as long as I have owned the phone (about a year). Sometimes ( not always or consistently) when I am done listening to radio I lose my volume controls. I exit the app and my volume controls on the side of the phone no longer work for some reason? I have tried to end the FM radio tasks with no success. The only way I have found to get my volume controls back is to power down the phone and reboot it. The phone has been factory reset, and it has been replaced and I still have the same issue.

Jan 31, 2010Is any one having sensor problems as i am? I updated my device to v.40 and now my auto rotation sensor only works when it feels like it. I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.

Or does this list just mean that it makes sure that idle processess are 'ended' when not in use so that it doesn't bog down RAM? Apr 28, 2011I'm starting to see a lot of automatic reboots of my phone, usually preceded by the phone hanging.This can happen when I go. to use an application and it might just freeze and reboot (not the result of an update).It also happens when the phone screen is off, phone is in "sleep" mode. I'll hit the home button to do something and have no response ... screen stays dark. I might hit the home button 1-2x more, but not holding it down or anything like that. After a couple of minutes, the phone will be rebooting itself. These are all full reboots ... I see the Droid eye, etc.

Our iPad Air 2 does too, and also allows 360' or rotation if we need a different position. I have always hated the fact that LG put the headphone jack at the bottom of the G4, and no 360" rotation...what's a good, basic, screen rotation app? I find the stock Android rotation works fine, just would like the screen to display with the bottom on top.

Nov 14, 2011Is there any way/app to adjust the Auto Brightness on the Droid X? The brightness that the phone picks is way too bright, so I normally turn it down/off. But when I am in direct sunlight I can not see the screen well enough to find the brightness settings to adjust them so I can use the phone.
I currently use the Android Power Control Widget to change my Brightness settings. It does a good job for me, except in the above mentioned issue. I have looked in the Android Market Place, but most applications just talk about predefined brightness settings. I found one called Custom Auto Brightness, but it does not seem to work on the Droid X.

Apr 6, 2012While using the DROID Razr Maxx at home, wifi is turned on and works great. When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.
