I'm starting to see a lot of automatic reboots of my phone, usually preceded by the phone hanging. This can happen when I go. to use an application and it might just freeze and reboot (not the result of an update). It also happens when the phone screen is off, phone is in "sleep" mode. I'll hit the home button to do something and have no response ... screen stays dark. I might hit the home button 1-2x more, but not holding it down or anything like that. After a couple of minutes, the phone will be rebooting itself. These are all full reboots ... I see the Droid eye, etc.
For the last few weeks my GPS has been basically useless. Sometimes if I let it sit and hunt for 30 minutes it finally picks something up. This means it's very hard to use Google Navigator or RunTracks. MapMyRun would sometimes get a lock after letting it hunt for half an hour. Letting my phone sit to do that just drains the battery though. My phone has the latest updates. I used an app to see how many satellites it "sees", and it finds about 7 or so but doesn't recieve any positioning info from them. I've tried turning location services on/off and rebooting the phone. Tried the same thing plus also removing the battery.
I've had something new start happening to my phone. In both instances, I was streaming music (Pandora), with the phone not plugged into the charger (usb to computer) like I normally do. When the phone battery was starting to get low, (about 40%), the phone shuts completely off. When this happens, the phone doesn't respond to the power button right away, it takes 2-3 minutes and/or a battery pull to get it to boot up again. Anyone else dealt with this or seen this?
When I plug in my headphones and start an MP3 player (Moto or Amazon so far) the phone starts to automatically redial the last number called. I hit "End Call" and it does it again and again. I am not sure what makes it finally stop. I also have poor sound/missing vocals on songs when I do get it to play. I am using my Ipod ear phones.
I got my Razr on November 12th and I have only had one issue with the phone so far. My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone. If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.
For some reason my phone is all of a sudden sending auto texts out to people when I don't pick up the call.
I just noticed it started yesterday. On my phone settings I don't have auto reject as an option. I have the quick responses but that is just where to edit them.
My Droid X2 keeps rebooting and crashing over and over. When I get past the lock screen it says. com.motorola.service.main has stopped responding or something similar to that, then it cycles through every other app saying they all crashed and the phone then reboots. I did not install anything prior to this and it was completely random...I am currently unable to use my phone right now since it will not stop rebooting. I have pulled out the battery and SD card to no avail.
Today..6...6 random reboots out of no where.I bought device when it first came out and battery life has been issue..but recently, just this week, with ZERO additional apps downloaded, its rebooted on me as listed.
I've had this problem where out of the blue my Razr Maxx will just freeze up and reboot but it's not a full reboot it starts after the Moto Dual Core logo. Has anyone else experience this problem it drives me nuts.
I've upgraded my RAZR MAXX HD to Jelly Bean. It seemed fine at first, and still does while in use, but will freeze and reboot randomly when not in use. It will get to a point where the screen goes dark and the phone will not respond to button presses or bluetooth connections, nor indicate new messages, etc; the phone must be restarted with PWR + VOL UP/DOWN. Oh, and the phone doesn't get hot either. I've tried an FDR (X6), installed only the Google Voice app, and it hasn't helped. I had not a single problem with ICS. I've googled and asked VZW tech support, but no one else seems to be having this problem with the OTA JB update. I grabbed some logs with logcat, but don't see anything. Is there some sleep mode event that occurs after some time or a way to monitor for a memory leak?
As the title says my phone still says Droid when it reboots when in silent mode. I have the update and this still happens when my phone randomly reboots
Recently my phone keep rebooting itself about every 2~3 hours. And some time, the power up button unable to wake up the phone display, so need press few times until it responce
After the update of 10-25-12 was installed I have been having problems with my phone rebooting for no apparent reason.Reboots may be as short as two minutes apart or the phone has actually made it to about two hours without a reboot.
It happened again today. I picked up the phone to make a call and it was in the middle of rebooting. It had been sitting idle for over an hour.I rebooted it myself the night before just prior to connecting it to the charger.
This has only happened twice in the past 6 months, most recently today. I try to unlock my phone and the backlight will come on but the screen is black. Waited about 5 minutes and still the same. Power button will not shut it down. Pulled the battery and waited a few minutes and started it. Boots fine but I get a message that the SD card is corrupt and everything is gone. Had to mount and reformat. No new app's and I don't use any other launchers or lock screens so it is completely stock.
Up until about four weeks ago, things were just peachy on the Auto Home and Navigation screens. Now, no matter what the brightness widget is set to, when I have my droid docked on the windshield, I can't see the menu(s). Also, the navigation screen is MUCH darker, but managable. Both these changes took place at the same time.
In other words if I put a program/app on this list such as say Google Map and then later need to use that app, will this program shut down in mid use? Or does this list just mean that it makes sure that idle processess are 'ended' when not in use so that it doesn't bog down RAM? Is there a good instruction manual on the features such as these for the X2, or should I look at something like the Bionic's user's manual since it comes with Gingerbread and should have some verbiage in regards to the task manager?
For the last few days, my phone will not rotate. The only app that is rotating is YouTube, but even gmail and the stock message+ is not rotating to landscape. I checked all the settings and everything is correct from what I can see.
I think I've noticed it a few times before, but tonight I've been able to replicate it on purpose. I have my brightness at close to it's dimmest setting, yet in direct sunlight the screen goes to max brightness; hold it in the shade and it goes back dim.
I have noticed that the latest update has caused the auto brightness feature to really lag. It seems to take 3-5 seconds after I wake the phone for the brightness to adjust properly and at times it won't adjust at all-too dim in bright light, too bright in dim light. Before it was almost instant. Tried all the usual things, safe mode, reseting, etc.
Is there any way/app to adjust the Auto Brightness on the Droid X? The brightness that the phone picks is way too bright, so I normally turn it down/off. But when I am in direct sunlight I can not see the screen well enough to find the brightness settings to adjust them so I can use the phone.
I currently use the Android Power Control Widget to change my Brightness settings. It does a good job for me, except in the above mentioned issue. I have looked in the Android Market Place, but most applications just talk about predefined brightness settings. I found one called Custom Auto Brightness, but it does not seem to work on the Droid X.
While using the DROID Razr Maxx at home, wifi is turned on and works great. When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.
I have paired my Bionic with our courdless phone - Panasonic KX-TG6581 - The cordless phone with bluetooth link works like a headphone device, and calls can be answered on the cordless phone while at home.
My problem is that the Bionic does not reconnect to the phone after a Bionic power cycle - I have to go back to the bluetooth device on the Bionic and hit connect.
My Motorola Droid worked perfectly with this device
I recently upgraded to the Razr MAXX HD from a HTC Droid Incredible. On the HTC Dinc, when reading an article or something on the phone, if you pinched to zoom making the text larger, it would automatically reformat to fit the width of the phone, so you didn't have to scroll right/left to read the entire line. The MAXX HD doesn't seem to do this. If I pinch and zoom in on text, it just makes the text bigger but doesn't reformat it to fit the width of the phone, so I have to scroll left/right to read the entire line.
