Jul 25, 2015Today i downloaded the update to Android 5.1.1 and now the automatic screen rotation on my xperia z3 does not work, in both, the "normal" and the safety mode. In my settings the automatic screen rotation is activated. What is the reason could be and how i can fix it?

Jul 4, 2011I have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
Nokia 5800 :: Auto Rotation Sensor Only Works Occasionally?
Jan 31, 2010Is any one having sensor problems as i am? I updated my device to v.40 and now my auto rotation sensor only works when it feels like it. I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.

Apr 18, 2015I've seen this at the Galaxy S6 Edge forum. But no-one seems to have a 'normal' S6 128GB with the same problem except me (so far).
What I've done so far:
-Checked that the button for Screen Rotation was ON
-Safe mode to see if a third party app was interfering with the programming
-Factory reset
None worked, my screen still won't rotate. It's stuck in portrait mode. I opened up the package with my phone this morning. It worked fine in the beginning. But no longer.

Apr 10, 2015Got the Edge yesterday, loving it except, the screen won't rotate.
Open camera app, the screen is always oriented downwards. It will not take portrait pictures at all - it simply doesn't rotate to portrait orientation.
Open any games, they will only be oriented downwards also.
The accelerometer is functional - tested with a game "extreme car driving" that lets you control steering by phone tilt - worked fine.
However, even that game automatically instantly re-orients itself upside down when you open it.
Screen rotation is toggled on. I have tried with it off, no difference.
Have rebooted several times. Have turned phone off and left it off for an hour, turned back on. Have not tried a factory reset yet... not particularly keen on doing it but I guess that is my next step. Did a factory reset. Didn't work.

Mar 24, 2012When I bought my first iPhone (4) I never knew the auto brightness actually works straight away when you walk from a bright area to a darker one, or vice versa. I had an issue with the home button and later my Phone provider swapped a new one for me. This replacement iPhone 4's auto Brightness actually dimmed in lower light areas noticably and in real time. It was really handy and the way it should work.
I recently upgraded to iPhone 4S, and noticed that the auto brightness doesnt change. I checked with my wife's iPhone 4S too and its the same problem. So, I want to know, does it actually change like the miraculous replacement iPhone 4 I received or is auto brightness a "meh" function that I shouldn't expect it to change. The reason I am asking is because I find in darker rooms, the iPhone is way too bright and I have to keep changing the brightness manually.
Everytime I do this I always see the Auto Brightness funtion on and its starting to bug me that it doesn't work like my old iPhone 4 did. Can someone explain if Auto brightness actually work?

Apr 3, 2012The auto login function to my tmobile Hotspot has worked for over 1 year without any problem on my iPhone 4. After migration to ios 5 / ios 5.1 the function doesn't work any more and i have to login manually, each time.
I use the same iPhone, telekom phone number, telekom login account id, telekom account password. The manual login works without problem. Nothing else has changed, but the ios upgrade. So it seams to be a bug in the ios upgrade.

Jul 17, 2010my sons nokia 5530 has just been in for repair as it kept switching off soon as a call was answered (received phone back thurs 15th july ) all seems to be working fine now until he noticed today the auto rotate doesn't work i've checked the settings and the box has been checked also removed the battery for a while to see if it kicks it into touch can anyone shed some light as to why this might be happening before i take the phone back into shop, its not a massive issue but it is a function he likes to use.
