Phone was sitting on my desk plugged in to power cord with 4G turned off.I have a very strong 3G signal at my office, I can see the tower out my window. The phone dropped the data connection and it took about 5 minutes for the 3G data connection to come back.I was getting used to this happening with 4G but now 3G too?
almost since day one, i have not really had the pleasure of enjoying what 4g signal is really like. i'm in chicago, and when ever i'm either downloading music or streaming video (netflix, Internet) or downloading anything that requires data, the phone completely loses the 4g connection and takes at times up to 5 minutes for the signal to come back. if i keep the phone on 3g only it does not happen, but that defeats the whole purpose of having a 4g device. the "data saver" in settings is off.
I own a Droid Razr MAXX that I purchased in the June timeframe, so it is still essentially new. My phone was updated to ICS when Verizon pushed the update out to everyone a few weeks back. Initially, I was excited to be getting the update to help improve phone performance and functionality. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience.
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed that my phone signal strength has diminished. Since I work a desk job, I sit in pretty much the same exact location each day and it is easy to notice signal strength. Before ICS, I usually had a 4G connection with 3-4 bars. Now, my phone fluctuates between struggling to connect to 4G and eventually connecting to 3G with 1-2, maybe 3 bars. In fact, the signal icon frequently changes from blue bars to white (I'm not sure what it means, but it probably isn't good). The phone seems to run slower and my apps frequently crash a few times per day. In addition, my phone seems to be using more battery now too. Before ICS, I could work a full day and still have 70% battery remaining. Now, I'm lucky to have 40-50%.
I haven't added any new apps, but have a few more .MP3 songs saved to my SD card. In addition, I don't believe there are local issues with a cell tower going down, etc.
I updated my Razr Maxx on Monday. Tried doing it sooner, but was getting the bug where it wouldn't validate the update. Ever since my signal strenght has been much worse than before. I no longer get signal in some places that I go for work that I had no issues with before. In those I still get signal I have issues connecting to data where I never did before. Even at home my signal is much worse.I realize that ICS displays the strength differently, but the way it displays should have nothing to do with actual usability. Can hardly use my phone at all anymore while working whereas I had no issues before update.
When I connect to my Home network using wifi, the signal is very weak unless I am within 5 feet of my router. I am using a valet router with up to date software. Other people in my house have other droid models and no problem with their signal strength. I have tried other routers and I get the same result so I know it isn't just my router.
I have a new Droid Razr and it cannot locate the wifi signal in the DOE laboratory that I work in. My 4 year old HP computer has no problem. Verizon 4G signal is fine as well as signal from Verizon based wifi hotspot. I know the signal exists, the phone simply cannot find it.
I have a Motorola Electrify 1 from U.S. Cellular. I have had the phone for about 3 months and before that my husband used it for about 9 months. For about 5 days now I just randomly lose my 3g signal. I cant get phone calls, texts, or anyother notification on my phone. I have to turn the phone off and then back on so that I can make a call. Also, sometimes when placing a call my phone just turns itself off. What is going on? I reset the phone to factory settings and still am having problems.

Its not really a problem but what is the blinking house icon above the signal strength on the droid razr maxx hd. It seems to flash randomly and I was just wondering what it was.
This is sort of an addendum to my discussion topic below - "Razr Reception in weak-signal areas." I've noticed that in a couple of places in the house and the far corners of our farm where the phone signal is sometimes spotty, I can always, ALWAYS get a good, solid, strong voice when I put it on speaker. If I turn speaker off and hold it up near my ear - even an inch or two away, I lose the connection instantly. Just a data point.
I've had this twice now where I couldn't get a GPS signal. This never happened on my Droid 1, but has happened twice in less than 30 days (two different phones - since I replaced the first one when this happened). This has been in 2 completely different locations.
I have a Droid X2. For the past couple of weeks, I have lost notification sound at times throughout the day. The phone is not in silence mode and nothing has changed. I will notice it is vibrating without but there is no notificaiton. If I turn the phone off and back on, the sound returns.
I have had this problem for as long as I have owned the phone (about a year). Sometimes ( not always or consistently) when I am done listening to radio I lose my volume controls. I exit the app and my volume controls on the side of the phone no longer work for some reason? I have tried to end the FM radio tasks with no success. The only way I have found to get my volume controls back is to power down the phone and reboot it. The phone has been factory reset, and it has been replaced and I still have the same issue.
I have a problem with my phone. I only get 2 or 3 bars in my house and at work at the most. When I plug my phone in to charge it everything is fine until about 90 percent charged. After that for all intents and purposes I lose signal completely. Sometimes it will just show no bars, most other times it will got into searching for CDMA and then no service. It does not change when the battery is fully charged either. The only thing that fixes it is unplugging the device. It doesn't matter what outlet its plugged into. Ive also tried it at work and home and I get the same results. It does not do it if its plugged into the computer charging on USB, but it does charge a lot slower.
Im on Verizon Phone is Bold 9650 Os is .732 Only apps I run are weatherbug available memory is 307.7 MB
Well yesterday i have dropped my Blackberry 9900 in the pool. I then directly used the rice method and left it all night. In the morning i have noticed two red strips one on the battery and the other one in the inner side of the phone where i place the battery. I have been told by a friend that this is the water damage sign. After i noticed the dark pink redish strips i decided to switch it on to verify that everything is working, and yes everything was working fine including the buttons. However the signal was on SOS only!! i thought that the SIM got damaged so i used it with another phone and it worked with connection signal full bars!! but when i put it back into my blackberry the SOS sign appear again!
My Z5C plays a sound when it loses or acquires mobile network signal. This is very, very annoying in areas where network coverage is bad. How to turn it off? I remember it being easy pre-5.1.1, but now i can't find any way to do it.
Ok I switched this week form iPhone to Android purchasing a shiny new Z5.
Because signal where I am varies dramtically from 4G to 3G etc so just changing rooms in my house will get me this notification.
Driving to work will get me several notifcations so its extremely frustrating, especially when it cuts in to songs etc that I'm listening too as I use the phone while running, it's also my main source of music in the van.
My iphone 3gs (ios5.1) loses signal every so often and when I turn the phone off and back on again it says activation required. I have to turn it off and on up to 15 times to get signal back and to lose the activation required message.
I recently noticed a strange behaviour during standby on my Xperia neo (FW 4.0.2.A.0.42). Since I use a brand new SIM of German network carrier E-Plus my Neo seems to randomly lose network signal completely. This sometimes even happens without any change of location. However, this occurs only in standby. As soon as I turn on the screen the network signal will be re-established immediately (-> screenshot below). As I can receive calls and text messages during these 'no signal' periods I would assume a software bug. However, I didn't notice this behaviour with a SIM of Vodafone which I had in use a couple of weeks ago.
How do i remove an email account i set up under my default account.. I set up the same one twice, just cannot find out where to delete if from. Also, when i am at work, it is a metal building, i can get a signal, though not always. Question. Why is it, that when i leave the building it does not find a signal most times and need to switched off/on to get the signal back?
I have recently purchased a Z3 Dual sim D6633 and around twice a day either when receiving or making a call the phone suddenly drops out during conversation and both network strength bars are showing no signal. a message briefly shows up saying no no network signal ( or something to that effect ) then dissappears. A few seconds later the signal comes back for both sims and all is ok again. Why this is happening but its becoming frustrating especially when I have to call clients back.
i went to replace the cracked screen on an s2, got all the backing of, and started to get the front screen of, and ended up splitting the LCD.so got a front screen with LCD, digitizer, ear peace, use little wise which Im guessing is something to do with the signal. put it all together, and turned phone on, and had no signal at all.
My XPERIA Active (ST17I) lose connection to cell operator network, very often. For Your information, other brand phone with the same Sim card works proper with stable connection, in the same place and time. After investigation, turn GSM only and cell operator (Kyivstar UA) selected manually, my phone has little bit better network registration, but still lose network sometimes for no reason. Firmware updated to last version, but no changes for the above issue.
I'm having a strange problem with my new Xperia Z3 Dual ever since I updated it to Lollipop. I’m using two SIM cards from two different operators. But every morning I notice that there is no signal available for SIM2. Signal comes back to normal on SIM2, if a call received or if I made an outgoing call from SIM1. Otherwise I have to switch on to Airplane Mode and switch it off every time to get the signal back. Because of this issue the battery drains so fast during night (due to loss of signal for 6-7hrs). And also I notice sudden call drops during conversations within 5-10 minutes after receiving or making a call.
I checked the same SIM using another phone to get verified whether this issue is related with the operator. But there I didn’t notice this strange behaviour. Hopefully this is something related with my Xperia Z3 Dual. I’m using WCDMA(Preferred)/GSM on SIM1 and GSM Only on SIM2.
I have owned my Razr just over a week and been dismayed at it's inability to pick up a signal . In the building where I work it will not pick up a signal anywhere - not at my desk, in the kitchen, the stairwell .. nowhere. My previous phone, Nokia E63, never had less than 4 bars and oft 5 and picked up a signal anywhere in the building even , and appologies for TMI, when sat on the loo.So is this the norm with the Razr ? Is it not great at picking up signals and should I see if I can swao to a different phone - a colleagues Smasung Galaxy S 2 has no problems getting a signal, or might there be something wrong with the one I have in particular ?
I purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.
