Sep 27, 2011I have had my X2 for a couple of weeks now and today noticed a flashing gray outlined triangle oriented like a pyramid on the notification bar. It is located between the signal strength bars and the WiFi strength symbol. I cannot find anywhere what this symbol indicates in any of the documentation; the manual or on-line. The phone seems to be operating normaly.

Jun 28, 2012I got the orange triangle notification yesterday saying something about having to re-enter my password. I enter it and I'm told it's invalid but I know it isn't. I change the password three or four times and keep getting the same results. However going directly to a Google site the passwords worked every time and yet my phone authentication whatever you want to call it tells me its wrong. Can't access Google play or update any app atm.

I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.

May 3, 2012almost since day one, i have not really had the pleasure of enjoying what 4g signal is really like. i'm in chicago, and when ever i'm either downloading music or streaming video (netflix, Internet) or downloading anything that requires data, the phone completely loses the 4g connection and takes at times up to 5 minutes for the signal to come back. if i keep the phone on 3g only it does not happen, but that defeats the whole purpose of having a 4g device. the "data saver" in settings is off.

Aug 2, 2012I own a Droid Razr MAXX that I purchased in the June timeframe, so it is still essentially new. My phone was updated to ICS when Verizon pushed the update out to everyone a few weeks back. Initially, I was excited to be getting the update to help improve phone performance and functionality. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience.
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed that my phone signal strength has diminished. Since I work a desk job, I sit in pretty much the same exact location each day and it is easy to notice signal strength. Before ICS, I usually had a 4G connection with 3-4 bars. Now, my phone fluctuates between struggling to connect to 4G and eventually connecting to 3G with 1-2, maybe 3 bars. In fact, the signal icon frequently changes from blue bars to white (I'm not sure what it means, but it probably isn't good). The phone seems to run slower and my apps frequently crash a few times per day. In addition, my phone seems to be using more battery now too. Before ICS, I could work a full day and still have 70% battery remaining. Now, I'm lucky to have 40-50%.
I haven't added any new apps, but have a few more .MP3 songs saved to my SD card. In addition, I don't believe there are local issues with a cell tower going down, etc.
Motorola Droid Razr :: Lower Half Of Screen Flashing At Times?
Nov 30, 2012So, for the past few days, when I wake up in the morning, I have found that the lower half of my screen is flashing. I use the AlarmDroid app and have done so since I got the device in February, so I didn't think that this would be the cause. It will flicker for a while, then eventually stop, so I can't just take it to erizon and show it to them. It only seems to do it first thing in the morning when I wake up (plugged into the charger). I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but no change. The only thing I can think of is that a couple of weeks ago my phone would not restart, so I had to reset to factory defaults. This started after I did the factory reset.

Jul 5, 2012I updated my Razr Maxx on Monday. Tried doing it sooner, but was getting the bug where it wouldn't validate the update. Ever since my signal strenght has been much worse than before. I no longer get signal in some places that I go for work that I had no issues with before. In those I still get signal I have issues connecting to data where I never did before. Even at home my signal is much worse.I realize that ICS displays the strength differently, but the way it displays should have nothing to do with actual usability. Can hardly use my phone at all anymore while working whereas I had no issues before update.

I have one annoying issue that I couldn't find at various forums and the moto customer support couln't help with. I have an audi s8 2007. The phone connects fine to the audi bluetooth but once the Atrix screen sleeps, the number of the signal bars displayed on the car's screen freezes. If I wake the Atrix screen the car screen immediately displays the correct signal bars but freezes again once the Atrix screen sleeps. I have tested that extensively and it is related to the Atrix screen sleeping. The car screen displays signal bars in areas where there is no signal and it will show one bar in areas where there is 5 bars. Any ideas on what setting on the phone may be affecting this.

Jun 28, 2012I need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

Motorola Droid Razr :: Weak-signal Reception Only On "speaker"
Mar 17, 2012This is sort of an addendum to my discussion topic below - "Razr Reception in weak-signal areas." I've noticed that in a couple of places in the house and the far corners of our farm where the phone signal is sometimes spotty, I can always, ALWAYS get a good, solid, strong voice when I put it on speaker. If I turn speaker off and hold it up near my ear - even an inch or two away, I lose the connection instantly. Just a data point.

When i hang around with my mates, the have normal Samsung Or LG phones and they get lets say 4 bars of signal on O2.

IPhone :: Have Db Signal And Bars
Aug 15, 2010Well I have found a way to easily switch your signal bars on your status bar from regular bars to db's and back whenever you want. Well I'm on the latest beta of 4.1 (8b5097d) on IPhone 4 and it does have feild test (maby it's just because I restored from my 3GS but idk). So go to your phone app and then to the keypad. Then type *3001#12345#* and press call, this will put u in field test app. At the top I can tap the bars and it will switch to db's and if tapped again it will go back. So once u tap to change to db's hold the sleep button till slide to power pops up then let go of the sleep button and hold the home button (this is a respiring). Once u do that u can just easily tap the bars or db's and switch where ever you are in your phone. Good luck hope it works on all your phones. And ps you don't need to be jailbroken!
