View 1 RepliesMy xperia z2 phone does not rotate the screen when held in upside down position. In other words, it does not rotate the screen 180 degrees from a normal up position. 90 degrees either side rotation is okay. This happens in the safe mode as well. Is that a bug or a feature? Is there a remedy?

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday i downloaded the update to Android 5.1.1 and now the automatic screen rotation on my xperia z3 does not work, in both, the "normal" and the safety mode. In my settings the automatic screen rotation is activated. What is the reason could be and how i can fix it?

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy screen has stopped rotating when I put the device into a landscape axis. I have seen many post about people who want to disable this feature but I like it and now my device has stopped doing it.
how to restore this feature?
And NO, it is not locked. Photos, books, webpages and email will rotate 90 degrees in either direction - meaning they'll go from portrait to landscape, but will not go all the way around 180 degrees. Homescreen will not rotate and none of the apps will rotate. I've tried turning it off and on several times, deleted all recently installed apps, reset all settings. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago...

On Denim, all of a sudden my screen rotation quit working several days ago. Rebooting the phone fixed it a few times but now its completely out. Yes rotation lock is off and toggling it doesn't make a difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
I updated the Baseband Version to NF6. now the screen rotation dosen't work anywhere. Tried rebooting and removing battery. Screen Rotation is turned on.

When viewing photos, videos, websites, etc. my phone used to smoothly rotate the screen from portrait to landscape view (and vice versa) as a single "window". So as I'd tilt the phone and whatever I was viewing would remain on the screen and rotate with the phone. All smartphones have this effect so I hope I'm explaining it clearly. Now it doesn't have that rotating effect any more. I can still view things in portrait and landscape, but instead of rotating with the phone as I tilt it, whatever I'm looking at on the screen disappears from one view and reappears in the other. Although the functionality is still there, the look and feel and overall experience is diminished.
I've checked the settings and screen rotation is turned off. I've turned it on and off while rotating the screen and the problem remains. I've powered down my phone and removed the battery a bunch of times and nothing's changed. I even reset the phone in safe mode and that didn't work either. Is there another setting that turns this effect on and off? This problem just appeared out of the blue the other day.
I own a z3. Its one month old. I have felt at many occasions that the screen auto rotation isn't working as it is supposed to. Many I times I need to re rotate the phone to get correct orientation.

View 6 Replies View Related1) rotating from landscape to portrait mode works fine (but sluggish) as long as you rotate the phone to your left, but it doesnt work if you rotate it to the right or upside down, is this hardware or software related?
2) in the same topic why is it so sluggish to rotate from Landscape to Portrait? (again is it SW or HW related)

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I rotate my phone, it takes 1-2 seconds for screen to rotate. The os is android 4. When I am using phone in a wifi area, the wifi icon in the phone screen shows that the wifi connection is not stable, and periodically moves from low to high. Note that the wifi source is near me. Is this a phone problem and minus for Xperia ray and Sony?

After installing the new update .508 my vibrate is not working properly. My SMS messages, emails and calls still vibrate but my BBM does not. It was working until I downloaded the newest OS on thursday.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading the phone to V21.0.045 I've had intermittent problems with the touch screen vibrate stopping working, which has fixed itself after a reboot. Also the unreliable slide lock problem has returned with this update. Now, as of this evening vibrate and even the small kick given when you switch on has stopped working. Not fixable by a reboot or taking the battery out.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue, simply worn out after 7 months or to do with V21? Can't reinstall V21, the new version of updater won't let me do it.
I just update my xperia Z2 to Lollipop. But after update, why my Z2 won't vibrate at all (call, typing, etc). The vibrate button is already turned on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got the same problem, but after lollipop update notification bar is not working on lock screen, but does not come down after unlocking the phone
View 9 Replies View RelatedChecking my phone, it told me there was an update available. I used the PC connect software to instal the update, following all instructions exactly. The update was applied and the phone shut off. I restarted the phone as instructed, and after a few minutes the update appeared to be successful. However, when I tried to use the phone I discovered that I could not unlock the screen! My first thought was to restart the phone, but without the touch screen, I can't even turn it off! It seems like my only option at this point would be to remove the battery to kill the power, replace the battery, and try restarting the phone.

My old iPod has the headphone jack at the top and always seems like it's in the right place for whatever I do with it. Our iPad Air 2 does too, and also allows 360' or rotation if we need a different position. I have always hated the fact that LG put the headphone jack at the bottom of the G4, and no 360" rotation...what's a good, basic, screen rotation app? I find the stock Android rotation works fine, just would like the screen to display with the bottom on top.
