Xperia Mini/pro :: The Screen Flickers Because Of The Brightness Auto-adjust
Jul 26, 2011
The sony ericsson xperia mini st15i was really a pocket sized monster but pls sony put up an option to turn off the brightness auto adjusting.. everything was good and i can even say perfect just that that brightness sensor ****** me off because at places with low lighting, the screen flickers because of the brightness auto adjust...
I have noticed that the latest update has caused the auto brightness feature to really lag. It seems to take 3-5 seconds after I wake the phone for the brightness to adjust properly and at times it won't adjust at all-too dim in bright light, too bright in dim light. Before it was almost instant. Tried all the usual things, safe mode, reseting, etc.
Is there any way/app to adjust the Auto Brightness on the Droid X? The brightness that the phone picks is way too bright, so I normally turn it down/off. But when I am in direct sunlight I can not see the screen well enough to find the brightness settings to adjust them so I can use the phone.
I currently use the Android Power Control Widget to change my Brightness settings. It does a good job for me, except in the above mentioned issue. I have looked in the Android Market Place, but most applications just talk about predefined brightness settings. I found one called Custom Auto Brightness, but it does not seem to work on the Droid X.
When I get on my S6 at night when it's dark, it always seems so bright. I discovered that when I disable auto brightness I can turn the brightness down to a more comfortable level. Outside of this one use case, auto brightness works fine for me. Is this normal? Is there a way to make auto brightness go more dim when it's really dark?
Is it possible to adjust the brightness of my display screen?if yes, can you please guys give me the steps please. also, there are no 1 and 2 keys for one touch dialing.
I have an strange, occasional problem with screen brightness. This problem has survived a factory reset and flash from Android 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I had also recently cleared the partition cache.
My screen sometimes goes very dim. I keep brightness on Auto. However, when this happens, cycling brightness to full makes no difference to the dim screen. Furthermore, the screen is dim only in some instances, such as: ChromeNova Launcher home screenSome other apps (can't recall which)
In other places, I see full brightness. For example, the notification shade is in full brightness (or whatever Auto sets it too).
The other day, I was outside in bright sunlight. My browser suddenly went dim, almost unreadable. I clicked home - dim. I pulled the notification shade down - full brightness. Pulled notifications back up - dim again. On restart, everything is fine again.
I use Screen Filter, but it was not on. In fact, turning it on darkens the screen even further.
auto screen brightness when I am outside and receive a call is so bad that I cannot see who is calling me . So I use max brightness when outside . Is there anyway way to change/adjust the auto screen brightness
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
i recently updated my xperia mini pro to ICS. Now i am facing screen lag while auto rotation. can some one please tell me how to fix it. secondly, how can i revert back to android 2.3 GB?
Is it just me or there's something wrong the G4's auto brightness logic.
On my way home the train passes by some tunnels which is totally dark.
What I noticed is when it detects light, screen brightness increases and when light is absent screen dims. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?
Just curious who is using auto brightness? I'm trying to determine if better (ie. significantly) for battery life to use the auto brightness feature turned on, or if better to leave it on say 50% brightness at all times. The auto brightness is a bit annoying more distracting But I'd be willing to live with it if proven to be a ton better on battery life.My battery was sucking down real fast, and has brightly about 2/3rd full so I turned on auto brightness but found out the IM ("Hi AIM" app)i had running in the brackground was what was causing the major battery drain.Any one run actual tests on auto-brightness vs manual brightness?
I think I've noticed it a few times before, but tonight I've been able to replicate it on purpose. I have my brightness at close to it's dimmest setting, yet in direct sunlight the screen goes to max brightness; hold it in the shade and it goes back dim.
I have been reading a lot about the Neo V and I am thinking about buying one but I have just found out something really disturbing: you cannot disable the light sensor. The auto brightness feature works in a way that is undesirable to most people because the screen is too dim when in a dark room or viewing a dark video. (I looked at a friend's Xperia Play, which I think has this same "feature"... it was so dim in a darker room that it was really unpleasant to use - is it the same with Neo V?)
I have read that the only possible way to get around this is root your phone and install an application that disables the light sensor.
Of course I do not want to root the phone because I do not want to risk my warranty. But this auto brightness feature bothers me so much that I might just not buy the phone at all because it would be really annoying to have this nice phone, but with a dark, dim screen. I know, it saves battery life, but what's the point of having a nice display with a dim screen.
My S6 keeps randomly changing brightness even though auto brightness is off. And so I found this option via search within settings, which may very well be exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem find it in the settings menu in developer option(which has already been enabled).....
Issue is that the phone will get in a mode sometimes where it just continues to reboot. It gets to a point that I can use the phone, but within a few minutes, it crashes and boots up again. Usually pulling the battery fixes it, but not always. A similar issue is the screen going blank. Not sure it's crashed or just a video issue, but the only way to get it back on is to pull the batteryAlso, as the unit is stuck at 2.1 for ever, so can not use the memory card to install apps, and can't uninstall the old apps, is there a recommended minimum of available phone memory? That is, for example, always make sure you have at least 35MB. Any more than 50MB won't make a difference to performance or stability
On my 32G iphone 4, the auto brightness option gives a very dim screen in a dark room. Tried to search a little, seems many users reported the same behavior. I wonder if this is the same to every iphone 4 out there. This is very annoying, making the phone almost unusable in dark environment.
I have my newly purchased yesterday Galaxy S6 Edge for Verizon and auto-brightness is turned off. However, when I go into a dark environment my phone screen dims itself even though the auto feature is turned off.
When in a dark environment I can can hit the phones camera sensor with a flashlight and the screen returns to full brightness. When the screen is then locked and unlocked again it will return to the dim setting.
Extremely frustrating considering how beautiful the S6 Edges screen is. Wondering if there is a fix I can do now, waiting for an OTA update, or just return the phone and get something else.
OK, so I just go the Galaxy S5 and while setting it up I have tried to adjust the brightness of the notifications panel (it's so bright I can only see the color of the battery power icon). I have gone into settings and have not been able to adjust it. When I go into the Setting panel I select the Notifications panel button and all it has is a check mark for Brightness adjustment, that's it nothing else. How can I adjust this?
So I've just found that I have lost all the controls on my Samsung Galaxy S5 whilst playing videos in the video player.Normally whilst playing a video, a simple tap on the screen you can pause, seek, rewind, screenshot, and adjust brightness volume and play speed. These options are now all totally gone, like they never existed. I've killed the video player in running apps, and also restarted my device and the still the controls are not back,.
I have recently updated my X10 mini to the new 2.1. However I have tried to get into/adjust my accessibility in the settings. But nothing happens. I can't turn the tick on or off?
