Aug 19, 2015Why the screen goes blank on Z5 Compact AFTER a call has been connected. I'm fed up having to redial over and over. My phone HAS the latest software update.

Jul 30, 2012I was loving the phone tll the screen started to freeze black during call. I tried all the buttons with no joy and the screen remained black after call. I had to remove the battery to reboot, this reset my time and date to 1980!

Aug 17, 2010I just bought my Nokia 5530.There are a couple of problems I have been having though- sometimes when I am making a call and want to end it before the person answers, the screen becomes unresponsive. Also sometimes when I am in the middle of the call and want to access the dialler (for typing in an extensions for example), the screen does not automatically come back up from its 'dark mode' and the only way i am able to end the call is turning it off completely.Is there something I should do to prevent this, or is my phone just defective? Help is needed because I think my local warranty is going to be up soon!

May 2, 2012Sometimes when I am making a call or accepting an inbound call, I will try to hit the speakerphone button (because I have a lot of trouble hearing the speakers in regular mode), only to have the screen go blank before I can do so. Sometimes it will come back after a moment and let me use the touchscreen, other times it will stay off for a while.

Oct 24, 2012This is the secondtime i have this problem. Somehow the call log goes blank. so i canot see any missed calls and other cal log information. it just is blank - without any sort of notificaiton.
First time it happen i had to factory reset the phone by updating the software - which meant i lost everything from my contacts to my apps - and it took me much time to get it back to my settings - however it worked ok then - for 2 months and now the blank call log is back.

For a month or so now, it is difficult to start the main screen with the double tap so could be an issue with touch screen, although once turned on with power button, using touch screen is fine. It's just that initial double tap to turn screen on that is tough sometimes.
When I get screen on, can use speaker or not, and i can use dialpad to dial, say for instance to get to voicemail. However, once dialed, the screen goes blank and I'm not able to turn it on by double tapping, by using power button, etc. The only way to get back to using my phone is when the other side has hung up. Then I can start using power button again.
I don't hold phone near proximity sensor, I don't think it's dirty, I don't use a case. I will put the phone down on the table flat and it will stay on. I then move my hand over it starting at bottom and when it gets a little ways from the top, it goes blank. When I remove my hand, with nothing in the way, it stays that way and I can't do anything.
I'd like not to try the next step which is factory reset and backup, as I have not done that before and really don't want to reinstall everything.

Sep 9, 2012i was charging my Xperia V on my laptop, and i received a call. Because of the rush, i just unplugged it off the cable and answered. When i plugged back in, the files in the memory card were no longer avalible from the phone (apps included) and it can't even read it with a SD adapter. I tried it on my desktop and i'm able to see the files, but i can't either format or move/copy/etc. Tried already to format in a mac, a camera and another phone, and failed. Tried another memory card on my phone and it works. Also tried with the SD adapter unlocked, and failed as well. I want to format it or remove the write protect.

Mar 4, 2012At first it was restarting 20+ times a day after continuous use, That i could just about deal with as i am due an upgrade after 2yrs. However, one time after i plugged it in to charge it would continuously reboot everytime it got past the startup screen, then it decided to stick on a plain white screen for a few hours. I let it run down on battery to see if this would help but when i went to use it again it started with the usual "Sony Ericsson"screen plus the coloured swishy display but then it just stays on a blank/black screen. It is backlit so it's not turned off. I would normally just let it be and wait for my new phone but it has all my contacts etc stored on the actual phone and not my sim.

Jun 14, 2015I have a Z3, recently when I turn the phone on after being turned off the phone displays the home screen for a split second then goes blank with only the back button visible. I can lock the screen and change the volume but nothing else. The phone stays like this for 3-4 hours then returns to normal. I've taken to just not turning it off but this can't be permenant, running out of battery, etc.

Aug 29, 2013This is to report a repeated problem on my smartphone. I purchased it on 21 Jun 2014. Within 1 year it developed a problem wherein the main camera stopped responding (black screen) along with flashlight remaining continuously on once selected on manually (have to restart the phone for flashlight to go off). This was rectified in month of May 2015.
The same problem repeated itself in the month of July 2015 and phone was again repaired/ rectified. Both times it felt under warranty and there were no charges paid. The only issue was twice the phone got formatted wasting my time and effort in backing up and reinstalling the desired software. Now last since last month the same problem has re-occurred.

I have tried to re-install / repair through SE US (PC Companion does not work in this case) to flash it once again, and also that did not help. It keeps telling me that everything is fine, and i should just switch on my mobile phone... upon which nothing seems to be happening.

Oct 30, 2015So just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.

Jun 17, 2012I have a Sony Xperia X10 mini and it was working fine up until an hour ago. I went to listen to some music and no sound came on, went to see if there was any sound when trying to call anyone and there wasn't. it wouldnt turn off so I removed the sim card and memory card, put them back in and now pretty much all of the screen is black, (the only bit that isn't is the strip at the top where the time is displayed), the phone also now wont do anything, wont turn off wont even lock.I have just downloaded the sony pc companion to try and see if an update would fix it, but it wont connect to the phone. Asks me to tap the "USB connect" but as the phone wont do anything I can't so it won't connect.
