I've been playing with my phone since the update to 2.1 and I suddenly noticed, by looking at the notification area, that my battery was getting critically low - but I hadn't had an alert, either onscreen (I don't think) or audible to tell me so Could I have switched it off accidentally, and if so, where can I switch it on again?

I can't seem to change my text alert the tick is next to my new alert when i try to change it but the old alert still sounds when i recieve a text, any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am totally new to the world of blackberry! But under the ring tones/alerts section there was an option to have a sound alert for facebook, which I was using. I then noticed a couple of days ago, there was no longer a sound alert when I got a facebook message, and the option to chose one has disappeared from the ring tones/alerts section.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.
View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to a 9700.No complaint about the standard battery, but I have had multiple occurances of the battery dying in the middle of a call.Is there any option or app that can give me a better warning that the phone is about to die while on a call? It would give me a chance to plug in a charger during the call or to warn my other party that I am on borrowed time.

I installed some of the BB upgrades today and now all my icons at the top of my screen have disappeared. If I take out my battery and restart my phone they appear and after awhile they disappear. I am referring to the signal, battery time icons at top of the screen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo all of the sudden my SMS messages are just coming up as phone numbers instead of contacts names, when yesterday they were displaying the names. I check to make the sure the numbers match under the contacts and they still do. I tried doing a battery pull and when the phone rebooted all of my contacts had disappeared. I checked the filters and none of them are checked, and as the other threads for this topic state, I tried to disable content control but I cant. I cant even find the general options section under security options. Is it different on the storm then it is on other BB's? Really confused right now. Also, there are no contacts saved to the SIM card.
PS. Running 5.0.0.328
Icons at the top of home screen, battery life and coverage bar have disappeared. How do I get them back?as well as wi-fi network name. They are all gone. I am not sure how that happened and I can not find a way to get them back.

View 9 Replies View Relatedsince updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently downlaoded a bunch of ringtones off of the internet, and I also recently added another email account to my tour. I Assigned different alert tones to the 2 email addresses, sms messages, bbm messages, and facebook alerts. I have found that when I get a message, and the assigned alert tone is activated, as soon as that tone turns off anoter different alert is then activated. I cannot figure out why or how to prevent this from happening.

Everytime inbox needs to refreshed inorder to see new mails. Same with Gmail app installed on phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
Phone doesnt ring or set of tone when texts come in anymore. I push the volume button and everything stays quiet, the volume bar now says incoming call volume for some reason too. Its not in silent mode either.

So I woke up this morning and suddenly ALL my contacts were gone. My phone log was wiped as well. I did not install any apps or alter any settings last night.
I've checked the filters, that's not the problem (and it shouldn't affect the phone log either, right?)
I've tried closing the "contacts" app and clearing the data, that didn't do it either.
How to restore my contacts and/or prevent it from happening again?

There was a black box saying that the widgit had malfunctioned. Now my phone won't connect to the internet at all.The upgrade is probably not linked to the problem but is the only new thing I have done to the phone recently.

I was having problems with my x10 mini pro over the weekend when sending texts, it was being really slow and kept saying there was a problem with the messaging application and asked me if i wanted to "force a close" or "wait". I chose wait everytime and everything seemed ok, except for being really really slow. Today I got the same message when sending a text, but it didnt give me the option to "wait" and I had to press "force close". Well, it then showed me as having NO text messages in my history....I have lost them all. I went in the Vodofone shop and he said they are gone for good....does anyone know anyway I can get them back? Some of them are really special to me and I hate the thought of losing them all like that with no warning

So, the files are still there. Is there a way to show the folders and files, because testdisk renames all the files.
