I have an Xperia X10i with Android 2.1 in it. I have enabled contact sync between my gmail and phone contacts. Whereas contacts sync from gmail to phone works like a charm but it does not happen the other way round. That means any new contact created in the phone does not get synced with gmail.

I also have added my corporate and outlook account to Gmail, and the contacts sync perfectly. But the only option I get when creating contacts is Locally or Gmail. (see screenshot).....

My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

In my Phonebook Contacts, all of my linked FB contacts have their current profile pic showing up but in the GoSMS Pro app, they just show up as default blue avatar. I can manually save each profile pic and assign it to a contact, but I don't want to have to do that for all of my FB friends!

I use gmail for my contacts. I noticed when I got my new S5 and logged into gmail some of my contacts had photos and some did not. When I went into edit contact on my desktop there was a photo that I had put in there before.
I checked to make sure that my phone was using my gmail acount for my contacts and it is.

I just got a new curve 9320. Earlier is was using 8520 with google sync and used to sync my contact with gmail contacts. But since I got this device, my contacts are not syncing with gmail contacts. I have selected the options to sync contacts in the email settings and my BIS is working absolutely fine but I don know why contacts are not syncing.

When I ran email set up with my gmail account i didn't notice that i checked the contacts box and it deleted all 300 of the contacts I had changed over and left only 20 or so (who i imagine are from my gmail account). I deleted the gmail account from my phone, is there a way to delete the gmail list from my contact list? I go to options and it's the only contact list in my phone and it doesn't give me an option to delete. I even tried re-adding the gmail account to my phone and unchecking the contact list button--to no avail.

I really like this feature because my 9700 will always have an updated list of contacts.But since I did a device switch, I had to register the email account on my phone again. Now I see 2 contact lists associated with my email account. For example, my gmail has 200 contacts, so on my BB i see 400 contacts all duplicated. If go into Contacts Options -> Contact Lists, I see the same gmail account twice. There is no option to delete one.
(This is only for contacts, as far as email setup, I only see my 1 email account setup)I dont mind just deleting all the contacts on my BB and then resync again, but I can't seem to find a way to delete all the contacts on my phone.

My contacts used to syncronize fine between my Bold 9900 and gmail. Now they don't syncronise at all. I have deleted the SYNC service book and had my carrier push the service book to me again. I have deleted and reconnected my gmail account. Plus rebooted my phone a least a half dozen times.
I was also curious about the frequency for gmail contacts to sync with the blackberry. Is this push based or does it happen every 2 or 6 hours.
I use Sony PC Companion 2.1 to sync my Outlook calendar from my PC to Google and from there to the Sony Ray. Synchronisation as such runs fine, but the thing is that when I delete a calendar entry on, say, Outlook and synchronise, the entry just reappears - this time as an item from Google. If I delete the entry on Google and then synchronise, it reappears on Google. So the only way to delete an item is to delete it BOTH on Google and Outlook at the same time. Not exactly what I am looking for. How do I make sure that deletions on either side is reflected on the other?My settings are:
* "Always delete from other devices"
* "ASK which item to use"
I've been using the GMail Sync for my Contacts (via BIS) for about a month now. It has solved the duplication issues that happen quite often when using Google Sync program.
My problem/Issue is that some of my Contacts Pictures work fine (Caller ID etc) and some continue to be deleted. I save them, then they disappear, save them again, they disappear. I cant figure it out. I dont do the Facebook thing, so i dont have it linked to that.
I have created groups for my contacts via Gmail (on my computer). How do I see those groups in the Contacts app on my phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to GB, lost all my phone numbers in my contacts, but thankfully the special app worked and I retrieved them. I want to sync with gmail, but I must of choose the wrong default option, when you add a new one, it asks you gmail or motoblur, always use this choice.
I added a contact and it looks like its a motoblur contact, when I go into accounts motoblur has a lock symbol next to it (odd).
anyhow to the questions:
1) How do I change add contacts to use gmail, now that I do not have a choice when adding new contacts.
2) Is there a qucik guide to remote wipe.
3) Someone mentioned they used motoblur to find their phone, how can I do that?
4) How often does my contacts/books etc sync with gmail, can you increase/decrease it?
When syncing my google contacts they suddenly do not appear. If i run diagnostic software it shows me 374 contacts have been found but no problems. At times when i select contacts it shows me the names but when i select the contact there is no information that comes up, it is just white. I go back and the contact names appear. I have tried removing my google account and readding, restarting and nothing seems to work. I can't really pinpoint to when it begun, it was intermittent then today I came home, looked at my phone and had a sync error message. The errors message seemed to indicate it was a result of google services update that must have run...

In additio to this If i go to messages the contact names appears aligned to a message, but if i dial a number manually it doesn't show me the contact name. If i recieve a call it also doesn't show me the name, only the number. I know 200% the contact is stored in google though.

When looking at the google sync options it all looks normal. Last synced is consistent with the rest. Doesn't matter if the contact is drawn from google, facebook, linked in or any other app it does not appear in the contacts list and if it does intermittently accessing the contact contains no information. It doesn't seem to be a google problem but rather a phone problem considering it is happening with all the contacts syned with out discriminating on application.
I tried the trick of deleting the gmail account in the service books, but the gmail account is not there. How to get this gmail contact list off my torch 9850?

However, I cannot seem to find a way to do this with an X10. On my old Nokia, it was really easy, but having come into the modern world and finally upgraded to a smartphone, I would have thought this would have been a no-brainer!

I have verified the sync is checked on Accounts & Sync however it does not show it has synced since 8/22/11 @ 7:38am. The calender and contacts have synced as recently as a few minutes ago. I have turned the phone off and back on, have popped the battery out and back in. I even tried to set up a new gmail account but it tells me I don't have a reliable data connection. I have browsed the internet many times since this problem began and my other email accounts (Yahoo and MSN) are working fine.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi only had this phone for 4 months and i never had problems until it started freezing. i did a master reset following this: Settings> Privacy> Factory data reset.. then the phone stopped freezing however, i can no longer sign my phone in to gmail with the old acct that i had with it before i did the **** reset. here's what. whenever i log in to my gmail acct using my phone's browser, it does not have any issues AT ALL. but the phone , this x8 really cannot register to my gmail.
