I am having issues with duplicate contacts when i have both Gmail contacts and Icloud contacts synced. What is the best way to consolidate and prevent the replication of all these duplicate contacts? Is there an app that do this?

We have an apple family consisting of an iPhone 4, iPad2, and an iphone 3G which we just upgraded to an iPhone 4 today. When we were setting up the new iPhone 4 to connect to iCloud and our apple ID we accidentally merged all the contacts via iCloud from both iPhones into 1 large contact list (the same list on both phones). We keep separate contact lists for our phones, but use iCloud to sync everything else together. I already figured out how to turn off the syncing of the contacts, but is there any way to revert/delete or however you want to word it, the contacts list back to each phone having only their original contacts? When I turned off the contact syncing in the iCloud settings it did ask if I wanted to keep the contacts from icloud or delete them so out of fear of it deleting ALL my contacts I tapped Yes to keep them (probably the wrong choice there). On my wife's new phone it is no big deal, I just manually deleted the 20 or so contacts that were added from my phone, but she has 100+ contacts that are now on my phone that I would rather not delete one by one manually. I also figure I could just do a restore from a backup on my phone through iTunes, but its been a while since I did one and I would end up loosing recent data and contacts so that isn't an option.

When I had it, I used to sync my 700+ phone book entries with Outlook (2010).After getting iPhone, I could import this Outlook backup onto the new phone normally, then I eventually added a few new contacts to my book, naturally. When I get to icloud, I see only these added manually after I got the phone uploaded (synced).How to make all the 700 to go on the cloud?

The calendar on my mac only shows single events but I'm sure in the switch from MobileMe to iCloud I did something wrong. Basically, the calendar on my iphone has an exact duplicate for all events. Any way to clean that up easily?

I have an Xperia X10i with Android 2.1 in it. I have enabled contact sync between my gmail and phone contacts. Whereas contacts sync from gmail to phone works like a charm but it does not happen the other way round. That means any new contact created in the phone does not get synced with gmail.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently had to reformat my 8900 and for some reason after setting up my gmail account i an receiving one copy of each email in my gmail folder and also recieving another copy of the same email in my messages folder. this means that i really am recieving 1 in the email folder and 2copies of the same email in the messages folder. i am using BIS and have tried deleting and re-adding the email account and also resending the service books. i tried looking around but couldn't see the same problem which makes me think it's something simple I'm missing. it's nothing to do with sent messages which i have no problems with.

I really like this feature because my 9700 will always have an updated list of contacts.But since I did a device switch, I had to register the email account on my phone again. Now I see 2 contact lists associated with my email account. For example, my gmail has 200 contacts, so on my BB i see 400 contacts all duplicated. If go into Contacts Options -> Contact Lists, I see the same gmail account twice. There is no option to delete one.
(This is only for contacts, as far as email setup, I only see my 1 email account setup)I dont mind just deleting all the contacts on my BB and then resync again, but I can't seem to find a way to delete all the contacts on my phone.
I had to upgrade the iOS to 5. And all of the contacts are gone. Is there a way to recover them?

However, on syncing the phone I was advised that I would have to set this up 'as a new phone' and sync later. After the themes were installed and activated; I noticed I had duplicate GMail icons for the same account.
I've deleted the GMail account and added it again - no change. I also uninstalled and re-installed the themes; did a battery pull (generic cure-all) and the duplicate GMail envelope icons for my "xxx@gmail.com" account still appears. It's more than annyonce than anything else.
Up to this point - my remedy is to "Hide" one of them.

I got both my iPhone and iPad sychronized with my outlook exchange account in my company. This setting has been applied over a year and I re-added the account after i got a 4S. However, outlook contacts started to duplicate (some up to 10 times) from 8xxx contacts to 9xxxx contacts since 2 weeks ago. I didn't turn on iPad and I consulted the IT department they said they needed to disable activeSync on my account to test first. Do you know if it's iPhone/iPad problem or ActiveSync problem? What I can do? I did try to remove all contacts in Outlook and restored a backup (8xxx contacts) but after a while, the outlook contact started to duplicate again and even generated up to 6xxxx contacts again.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 on the 3 Mobile network. I only have one email account setup, and it is a Gmail account. I use Facebook for Blackberry.So here's my problem - a few days ago I checked my Blackberry Bold 9700 and saw that I had received 28 email messages and 8 Facebook notifications.However none of these emails or Facebook notifications was new. They were all ones I had already received that day.
I deleted them all, and guess what - an hour later and they all came back into my email inbox and Facebook notifications.When I went to sleep that night, I woke up with 136 emails and 26 Facebook notifications - ALL OF THEM THE SAME REPEAT EMAILS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
I have been on forums and tried removing my battery and SIM card (not very technical, that) as well as resending the Service Books after doing this. Nothing has solved this problem though.I really hope someone can help please as I'm seriously thinking of ditching my BlackBerry and buying an iPhone where this problem doesn't occur.
