Dec 31, 2010When I access Gmail using the preinstalled app key it only gives me limited functions. The screen only shows my inbox and the messages in it so I can only reply or forward sent messages. I cannot start a new message or access any other functions that are available to me if I access Gmail through the browser key.Has anyone else had this problem?

Apr 25, 2012Shortly after I got my iPhone 4S, I added my gmail account to the mail app (not the gmail app),so that I could read my email on my phone, and specifically not using the Gmail app, but using the email app, and adding the Gmail account as an Exchange Server so that my Google Contacts would sync to the device. It worked for weeks. Now, suddenly, it says wrong password whenever I try to check my email. I have removed it and added it back. I did not change anything on my email account configuration that would cause this.
Since it happened, though, I have removed the account and re-added it. It seems that it would stop me from adding the account if I were using the wrong password, but it lets me add the account with no problem, and only gives the wrong password message after that, when it tries to begin downloading emails.
I have typed in the password enough times today to make sure that I am typing it in correctly. I have been able to log into my gmail account via the web successfully (proving that I do know my own password). I even downloaded and installed the gmail app and was able to use it to get to my email. But that leaves my phone with zero contacts, because I keep all my contacts in Google Contacts, and the Gmail app doesn't seem to add any contacts to the contacts list on the phone. I need it to work the way it was set up & working before today. I don't know if Apple changed something, if Google changed something, or what. I would think that there would be others using this functionality who may be similarly stuck.
So my question is: How can I access my Gmail account from my iphone and have my google contacts brought into the phone's contact list, and constantly synchronized with Google contacts, like I had going before today? With the addition of iCloud, it gets really confusing really quick. The simple solution that I was using was so nice. I will be sad if it is gone for good...

Aug 24, 2011I have had my Xperia X10 for several months now and have had a gmail account on it for that whole time. It worked fine until 2 days ago when it suddenly lost connection. I have verified the sync is checked on Accounts & Sync however it does not show it has synced since 8/22/11 @ 7:38am. The calender and contacts have synced as recently as a few minutes ago. I have turned the phone off and back on, have popped the battery out and back in. I even tried to set up a new gmail account but it tells me I don't have a reliable data connection. I have browsed the internet many times since this problem began and my other email accounts (Yahoo and MSN) are working fine.

I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

Aug 26, 2010so I've got the google calendar sync set up on the x10 and gotten it verified by the gmail mobile set up.. and the syncing works both ways for future events.. for some reason no past events on the gmail calendar syncs with the x10 calendar..although any events set up in the past on the x10 calendar updates the gmail calendar fine.. does anyone know if this is a "feature" or do I have to set up some personal settings differently? although for the life of me I can't find any settings on the x10 calendar that specifies the length of time the sync should work for!I know this is not a huge issue but I have had to restore from backups cos of various problems with my x10, so everytime I'm having to manually create the past calendar entries (which I use as tracking meaures for various projects I'm working on) on the phone by looking @ the gmail calendar.
