updated my x10 to 2.1 and i find this update has really slowed down the performance and is taking a long time to load even the contacts. and also timescape is pulling irrelevant pictures from twitter capturing only the name for example alan in my contact list with no twitter profile or image gets the profile pic of alan in twitter and outrageously the edit option tells me timescape editing is not possible with this phone,.NOT TOO HAPPY WITH 2.1. can i revert back to 1.6 version by any chance.further how to install tamil fonts in x10 can we get unicode tamil phonetic keyboard.
the Gingerbread update slows down the X10... Mine was ok on the 2.1 after the update the phone is soo slow.it sometimes becomes unsuable then i have to take the battery out and reboot..even the Task Kill App (Advanced task Killer) from the Android Market doesnt make any dfference....When I kill the apps it usually says i have 51MB memory avilable... just dont know where the rest has gone.. on the 2.1 if I killed all the apps i usually would get around 128MB memory...It hangs and the response is very very slow ever since i upgraded....The only positve side to the Gingerbread update I can see is the Flash Player and thas about it...
I've had my xperia x8 since june no problems at all until sunday....I let the phone run out of battery...(the battery life is pretty awful even after all the tips) and when I charged it and turned it on it said it was preparing sd card checking for errors on the notification bit. Its not said that since i had it intitially. This notification did not go away and actually made my phone slow down then go blank then behave completely irratically (almost like a computer does when its being affected by a virus)
I tried turning off ...taking out battery...taking out sd card..taking out sim card...turning on...and a combination of all these to see if it changed but it just keeps preparing sd card /checking sd card for errors....it was fine the other day what has changed?
The battery backup is very low. However the specification says the standby is min. 200 hrs. But my battery runs before that (22 hrs when kept idle)May i have any suggestion. How to improve battery performance?
For some time ago I updated my X10 to Android 2.1 and today (a week later) I noticeed all the sudden that Mediascape has linked alot of my pictures stored in my phone to some of my Facebook contacts automatically. Of course Mediascape got it all wrong, linking my children to old friends I haven't met in several years etc.
1. First - how do I disable Face recognition service entirely. I find this very unuseful since I have found it not that good at identifying persons even when trying to learn.
2. How come that Mediascape did this automatic link between my Facebook contact and my pictures?
3. Is there a way to clear this linking data that Mediascap does. It's pretty time consuming to have to go through all Facebook friends and select the image and Delete the link between the photo and the friend.
I guess Mediascape must have downloaded images from my frieds facebook galleries and analyzed them somehow. However this isn't something I want my phone to spend time doing. The battery time of my X10 is poor already, it doesn't need to do image processing - at least I should have the option to turn this off?Overall I find Mediascape pertty crappy. Mostly because it's performance. I guess the ideas behind it is good, but the implementation isn't near good enough. For example, slow browsing between images. Compare with iPhone, Samsung galaxy, HTC phones, older SonyEricsson phones such as W715 or C905. All these perform much better. Is there a way to remove this or use another media viewer?
I use some bluetooth headphones for gym and commuting use and was surpirsed to see a very obviuos decrease in performace of my Z5 when audio was streaming to them.
I have Sony Ericsson xperia neo V and I want to increase the external memory of my phone from 2gb to 8gb. My phone is compatible to extend up to 32 gb but I am not sure of it that does it support or not , I am worried that this will affect my mobile or could drain more battery, I want to expand memory of my phone memory but also want to ensure about its performance . Can some one tell me that what are the effects of expanding memory and are there any such classes of memory card.
Went through the Over Air update process yesterday, now WIFI drops all the time and the battery performance is so poor the phone will not last a day!Can I put back the old SW or get this fixed some how? (edit a config fiel or something.......?)
I am considering getting an upgrade on my MicroSD. But not sure which class to buy.How does higher MicroSD HC speed of class 4 and 6 helps with Xperia X10 performance?Considering Xperia X10 processor Input and Output MB/s VS. Class 2 (2MB/s), Class 4 (4MB/s), Class (6MB/s)
Since I updated to IOS 5.1 my iphone 4 feels like my first gen iphone, is very slow, app loads slow, scrolling is slower, etc... I restore it and still is very slow, my co worker too has seen his iphone 4 slow down A LOT!!
Has noticed there finger print unlock slowing down? I swear it is 2x to 3x longer than when new, restart phone regularly so I am not sure why. Just curious if it's just me.
I have a brand-new Nexus 5. For some reason, the wifi connection keeps slowing to just less than 2mbps. If I turn the wifi off and on again via the phone settings, the connection always flies back up to around 30mpbs, but only for a short time (maybe around 15 minutes - it is seemingly random). My connection is a very stable fibre optic one and all other devices in my home operate fine, as did my previous phone.
I have tried all of the following options, which I found on a site, but to no avail:
1. Enable Airplane mode then turn off or toggle the Wi-Fi on and off to reset the connection.
2. Reboot the Nexus 5 to refresh the entire system.
3. Switch off the Wi-Fi router for 10 seconds then turn it back on.
4. On the Nexus 5 Settings menu, select Wireless and networks > Wi-Fi > Forget the network the problem then reconnect and entire the right details.
5. Update the firmware of the Wi-Fi router by checking the Web site from your Internet Service Provider's manual.
6. Change the band on your Nexus 5. Go to Settings > Wireless and networks > Wi-Fi > Menu key > Advance > Wi-Fi frequency band > Try 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz only instead of Auto. Uncheck the Avoid Poor Connections as well to improve Wi-Fi connectivity.
I have been using this iPhone 5c for at least a year & 3 months without any problems. Now I am having problems with not only the wifi disconnecting continuously but also my time lags about 30 minutes. My phone would work just fine for about 3 minutes, then bam, the wifi disconnects. I dont know where this problem has came from. I am also not sure if it is just my home wifi. I have tried restarting my phone ( powering off then on & holding the home & lock button, you know the rest ), i also tried turning the HTTP proxy to auto, then back off, turning off & also reseting my router, setting my network settings, & reseting all setting. Also my time is behind, it works just fine when my phone is not locked, when i do lock it, the time wont start counting until about 30 minutes have actually passed..
I got this phone less than a year ago, and it was great until recently, when it started slowing down and taking forever to send messages, and close screens etc. Is this a problem with the memory, or is the phone getting too old now?
I'm lucky that I live in an area where I have pretty consistent 4G service. My battery life with my Bionic seemed to be improving over time and prior to yesterdays update I was getting a good 12+ hours of regular life with a few bluetooth phone calls and regular push emails and by 7pm I would be at 40%. I thought that was pretty decent. Today after 4.5 hours I was down to 50% and now after 6.hours and 33 minutes I'm at 30%. In that interim period I have not made any phone calls, nor played any games, nor used the phone for anything other than checking my status of apps and battery life.
The one change I did notice was "wakelock" with the " " marks on the word included on the list of things using battery. When I queried this forum as to what this is, not an app I uploaded to the phone, I found out it is something that Moto added as a power management tool. There is no way for us that I can tell to manipulate this tool. I have a problem with having a tool put on my device that slows my battery and I can't either delete it or manipulate it. I won't root my phone.
I'm rather dissapointed with the E72 when it comes to GPS usage. It seems to have low sensitivity and loses the signal quite often (in the car). My benchmark is a stand-alone antenna (Holux) but even using a 6220 Classic with the internal GPS I seem to get a more solid GPS reception. Right now I'm still using my old Holux since the E72 doesn't seem to be reliable enough to do in-car navigation. While on the outside it appears to work slightly better but still takes ages for a first fix (with AGPS or without).
I was looking for opinions from the GSM users on the latest GB version. Is it better/worse/different than previous versions?
I briefly used the .606 version in the UK last week. My impressions:
1) I got more bars than I saw under Froyo. These were very unreliable under Froyo, it was perfectly possible to make calls with 1 or zero bars, so this might have been fixed.
2) I saw the new data icons, H, 3G, E and G. For my eyes, the new icons with the background were harder to see, I had to look closer to see if that was an H or a G!
3) Battery was used more quickly than under CDMA. I don't think this was GB change as I had seen it before, and I wasn't sure if it really due to the difference in protocol or merely because I am in a strong CDMA area here and a weaker GSM one in the UK.
I have recently installed a CK-300 kit which I chose because I love Nokia phones. I have paired it to my 2730 and the performance is dreadful. Callers complain of a huge echo and background noise, even when the vehicle is stationary. To further test the car kit, I fitted my sim to my old 6230i. Perfect. Even at motorway speeds the sound and clarity is great. Other posts on this forum have advised updating the phone software to 9.41 which I have done and re-done just to be sure but this doesn't cure the problem. I don't feel happy about changing handsets each time I drive, but that's my only option to stay legal unless one of you experts can help me fix the 2730.
Does any body know how to manage of RAM on e63 to increase the performance.coz my phone(e63) is too much lose of RAM. In idle it's about 57 - 62MB free RAM(i use nokia email that always run in b'ground) when i run another apps like ucweb and nimbuzz in the same time,it's going too slow for typing.when i checked my RAM it's about 42 - 45MB free. Is it normal? Please any suggestions or tips for this issue?thank you for any respon.
ive been dilligently updating my 5800 since i got it, ive not been happy with some of the updates like the stupid swipe alarm system (imho its stupid) and everything has generally been an improvement until i update to the latest version available to me on o2 in the uk,since then the phone has actually ran slower, ive needed to tap the screen more than once to get a response and sometimes during text entry i can only describe the phone as going mad thinking the screen is still being touched and entereing in letters or backspacing the entire block of text its a tad dissapointing to be honest, and re-calibrating the screen has made no improvement, one thing i admit to not trying yet is reinstalling the software but i wondered if anyone else had a similar problems since then as well
Which phone has best performance (CPU speed, RAM) ? (Nokia 5800xpress music or Nokia N97)KUDOS ME IF YOU FIND MY POST HELPFUL BY CLICKING GREEN STAR!!!
Recently i downloaded some themes from ovistore.it got automatically installed to memorycard. But now when i take gallery, photos and videos on my phone with new theme appllied it takes more time, especially when the screen rotates. Why this happens?this problem doesn't occur with preintalled theme.
I like having my phone jailbroken but my proximity sensor is a big enough issue to warrant updating. That is of course if the update truly fixes it.Anyone care to share their experience so far after the update?
My 3GS had miserable speakerphone performance. I have to participate in a lot of conference calls for business, and the speakerphone was embarrassing; in a group setting, we always had to use someone else's phone.Had a call yesterday, however, and was blown away by the new iPhone 4 speaker performance.
For those M8 users who would like to milk every drop of performance out of their phone. There is a secret High Performance Mode you can enable. It's made my M8 seem a lot quicker. But it does kill the battery life. How to enable High Performance Mode on the HTC One (M8), and why you may not really want to
