Oct 28, 2010I just looked at my test menus (menu-menu-back-menu back-menu-back-back etc etc to get the phone-specific info) and it says that my x10 is from France.This explains the Serve.Me app being in French, havn't been able to change the language used in this app.Being English educated and living in Australia, this native (non-removable) French Serve.Me app is pretty useless as my French is "tres mal".Is there anything I can do to install and English version/change the country? Apart from 'rooting' the phone ( rather apt term as Aussies, the word 'root' has also other meanings) which I assume I can remove the native apps.What other parts of the phone are customised for a specific country? I've been able to use everything in English so far - and the 2.1 upgrade is not available yet for my x10!

Jun 28, 2010I recently bought a Nokia 6700 slide and it comes in a package with a BL-4CT battery 860 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.2 Wh. How the battery performance is poor ( keep about two days), I thought to replace it with a BL-5CT battery 1050 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.9 Wh, or BL-5J battery 1320 mAh. Or even a BP-4L battery 1500 mAh ( that do not know if it fits ).Can I improve in this way life time during the talk and standby?

Dec 24, 2010updated my x10 to 2.1 and i find this update has really slowed down the performance and is taking a long time to load even the contacts. and also timescape is pulling irrelevant pictures from twitter capturing only the name for example alan in my contact list with no twitter profile or image gets the profile pic of alan in twitter and outrageously the edit option tells me timescape editing is not possible with this phone,.NOT TOO HAPPY WITH 2.1. can i revert back to 1.6 version by any chance.further how to install tamil fonts in x10 can we get unicode tamil phonetic keyboard.

Nov 9, 2010For some time ago I updated my X10 to Android 2.1 and today (a week later) I noticeed all the sudden that Mediascape has linked alot of my pictures stored in my phone to some of my Facebook contacts automatically. Of course Mediascape got it all wrong, linking my children to old friends I haven't met in several years etc.
1. First - how do I disable Face recognition service entirely. I find this very unuseful since I have found it not that good at identifying persons even when trying to learn.
2. How come that Mediascape did this automatic link between my Facebook contact and my pictures?
3. Is there a way to clear this linking data that Mediascap does. It's pretty time consuming to have to go through all Facebook friends and select the image and Delete the link between the photo and the friend.
I guess Mediascape must have downloaded images from my frieds facebook galleries and analyzed them somehow. However this isn't something I want my phone to spend time doing. The battery time of my X10 is poor already, it doesn't need to do image processing - at least I should have the option to turn this off?Overall I find Mediascape pertty crappy. Mostly because it's performance. I guess the ideas behind it is good, but the implementation isn't near good enough.For example, slow browsing between images. Compare with iPhone, Samsung galaxy, HTC phones, older SonyEricsson phones such as W715 or C905. All these perform much better. Is there a way to remove this or use another media viewer?

May 29, 2010I have just received a "Blackberry Bold 9700 Unlocked International Version" which i purchased from Amazon.Com. "This is supposed to be a new unbranded unit".
The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.
Kindly advise as to ho to resolve these issues and whether there is a more current software version for the handset, and if so: how do I update it.
