BB Bold :: Can't Configure Mail Account
Apr 12, 2012I'm in Uruguay (South America), my sevice provider is Ancel. I work for Tata Consultancy Services, and I want to connect to im.tcs.com mail server. The problem is that apparently I can't get my APN settings to work properly. I've called my sevice provider many times but their plain answer is that they don't offer blackberry support, even though they should be able to help me configure APN. I've also called blackberry support from Tcs, and they say that I should talk to my service provider to configure my maiil account.

Oct 14, 2010I performed a firmware update on my Elm j10i2 phone. I am able to connect with a Wi-Fi and browse web pages with it, but i cannot use Wi-Fi anymore for e-mail or Java Me apps.
My settings are:
Internet settings: allow local connections
Streaming settings: allow local connections
Wi-Fi : connected with a favorite and high-priority network
If i look for IMAP4/SMTP connection settings, i get the "internet settings" menu, indicating 'allow local connections Yes', but you cannot save it (it says not available now, probably because it expects GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts)
If i check my e-mail, i get the message "you have to select an internet account now" - after confirmation, i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu.
If i start a Java application (for example AccuWeather), it does not connect over Wi-Fi, and if i choose the app's options, and then "internet settings", i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu, this time indicating 'allow local connections No'.
Did I miss some settings menu somewhere ? Or do you need to configure GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts to get it right?
It's pretty annoying because Wi-Fi was my main incentive to buy this phone.

Apr 18, 2012why my phone suddenly stopped receiving emails from both my accounts. I used to live in portugal and i moved to peru, two months ago. I had my phone unlocked from my portuguese operator so i could use it in Peru. When i got here i boght a sim card from a peruvian operator and everything was fine for the 2 fisrt months and now i haven't received emails since the 9th april and i've already reseted the phone and nothing. The thing is when i go to set up an email account, happens two differente things: sometimes i only can choose the option create an email acount by an entreprise server....and i don't have that...so i go to the option creat an email account and nothing happens...it just stays there like i haven't pressed that option....and there are days that i can't even get in the option email accounts....
how is this possible? everything was going fine...there's no reason for this to be happening.. and my operator in peru says they can't do anything because it's a handicap from the cell phone..

The BB proposed an update of this application and I accepted.As far as I remember, during the update process, I was proposed to replace the email app by a "setup_email..." app or a stuff like that.Now, I can't set up any email account because the terminal bugs when I try to open the email set up function.Then, the screen is blocked and I'm forced to shut down the terminal with the on/off button.I already tried to update the whole OS from 5 to 6.0.0.576 with BB Desktop Manager but the problem remains.For your information, and if it may help, I just see that the email setup application (6.11.0419.0755) is located after the games in the application list of the BB Desktop Manager.

Everything is as the setup instructions for MfE at Google Support says and , as I said, it works perfectly on Nokia 5230. The log says: "System error, try again later"
The funy part is that I've tried using two different e-mail accounts: they both display that error but the one that works on my other Nokia apparently downloaded the mail (although it still shows errors everywhere, even the log says it didn't work). The MfE is the most current, I've downloaded it from Ovi store today (3.00.050), my Nokia software is updated too (410.34.001).

* Incoming mail (POP3 / IMAP) server: mx.000webhost.com
* Outgoing (SMTP) server: you need to use your ISP (Internet Service Provider) SMTP server. Call your ISP to know your SMTP (mail sending) server. In case you are unable to get SMTP server, you can use WebMail for email sending.
* Username / Email: [URL]
* Password: ..........
If you are unable to configure your email client, you can always use our WebMail system.On the iPhone I am required to list the following under the INCOMING MAIL SERVER section:
HOST NAME: (According to what I copied and pasted above, it seems that mx.000webhost.com is what should be placed in this space. But I can't get it to work for me, and it does not look like the "mail.example.com" that is usually used for other e-mail servers)
USER NAME:(I guess this is either my e-mail address or the user name I have for this account?)
PASSWORD:(I assume this is either my 000Webhost password or e-mail password?)

Apr 15, 2010I have purchased E72 on or around 15th Jan., 2010 from one of the Nokia Dealers in Indraprasth Shopping Center, Borivali, Mumbai. I found one man in his shop wearing a Nokia Shirt and after I bought this mobile, he set up the e-mail configuration using his sim card as his was of Airtel and Mine was MTNL. After that day I stayed in Mumbai for only 2 days and never used any of the email services. When I reached my office overseas, I tried to access the emails on my phone but it would hang and I would have to restart it again. Thinking there is a virus, I downloaded the F-secure Anti-virus from the Ovi Store. But it became worse. It stopped the Java applications on the phone.So, I uninstalled the Anti Virus and tried the email. But in vain.Then I was asked by one of the engineers at my service provider to remove the mailboxes and re-configure them. I did remove the mailboxes and since then - now 3 months.I have not been able to configure my mailboxes on my E72 again.
I went to the Nokia Priority Dealer - Foneman in Mangal Kunj, S. V. Road, Borivali -W, and they failed to configure it and sent me for software upgrade to Nokia Care, Near Railway Station in Borivali - W.They upgraded the software as they claim and tried to configure my email IDs.
