View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Ericsson K800i and until two days ago it was working just fine. But then it displayed the "No access to network." message and I couldn't make or receive any calls. I tried to restart the phone, to take off the battery, to reset the settings, to set a network manually etc etc but still nothing.
And while it is searching for a network, it is draining the battery too. It was fully charged this morning, and now it's only 25%. Normally, it should take 3-4 days to reach that power level. I should mention now that I'm in roaming in Munich, Germany since three weeks, and my phone bills are payed on time, so it shouldn't be an mobile operator problem.
have a W705. I had it unlocked and now use a vodafone Sim card in it as a result all I can do is text and call as I cannot access anything online due the Sim not being compatible. question is how and what do I download to update my phone with the relevant software?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently lost my phone and a friend gave me their old w580i. Somehow I may have deleted the connectivity tab under the settings menu. I cannot find any way to access my bluetooth for this phone. I ran the software update service and this did not fix the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off, a bit of background. I bought an ELM (unlocked) off of eBay. I was able to put an ASDA sim in and it is fine for calls etc. However, I'm very puzzled as to what is going on with the internet settings. I contacted ASDA and they sent the appropriate setting for my phone but whenever I try to use Opera Mini , Bolt, GPS or anything else Internet related the connection fails almost immediately. What doubly puzzles me is that if I press the O2 softkey a page comes up which says 'It looks like your using wifi (which I'm definitely NOT) but then that page allows me to browse to other pages (BBC etc). The phone has clearly originally been on O2 and it's almost like something in there has grabbed the internet and won't let go so it's the ONLY internet page I can access. I've tried hard resets as suggested by ASDA etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWent to use the google map application the other day, and whilst it was generating route it complained it had lost signal.True, signal was dead, 3g or otherwise. However, GPS was still up and live so no route completed as it complained no network. Why does it need network to run?Seems pointless as you cannot guarantee a signal. for example, on my route home from work for the 45min drive I have an orange signal for about 10mins.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI performed a firmware update on my Elm j10i2 phone. I am able to connect with a Wi-Fi and browse web pages with it, but i cannot use Wi-Fi anymore for e-mail or Java Me apps.
My settings are:
Internet settings: allow local connections
Streaming settings: allow local connections
Wi-Fi : connected with a favorite and high-priority network
If i look for IMAP4/SMTP connection settings, i get the "internet settings" menu, indicating 'allow local connections Yes', but you cannot save it (it says not available now, probably because it expects GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts)
If i check my e-mail, i get the message "you have to select an internet account now" - after confirmation, i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu.
If i start a Java application (for example AccuWeather), it does not connect over Wi-Fi, and if i choose the app's options, and then "internet settings", i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu, this time indicating 'allow local connections No'.
Did I miss some settings menu somewhere ? Or do you need to configure GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts to get it right?
It's pretty annoying because Wi-Fi was my main incentive to buy this phone.
hoping someone can help me out here. I have a Sony Ericsson W595 This afternoon I went to make a call and found I couldn't get into my contacts list - I'd press select and nothing would happen. The phone would not be frozen, however. Then, on my "recent calls" list all my contacts' names had been replaced with an "e" with an acute accent. Later, I lost signal so took the battery out and replaced it, which didn't help. My message counter and phone theme were reset but the time and date were not. I removed and replaced the SIM card, which also had no effect. I then put my SIM card in a Motorola Pebl and got full signal and could receive texts again, so I assume it is a phone fault, not a SIM problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy German Hazel does not want to use Canadian WiFi! No matter if I am trying to login to my home WLAN or using an open hotspot - I get a mixture of messages but no WiFi access: "Out of network area, not available, error in communication etc.". I am not using any data plan, just plain prepaid on FIDO.ca - therefore a phone able to use WiFi.Sometimes the Hazel briefly logs-in to my home WLAN, but than immediately drops out on an ongoing basis, i.e. in/out continuously when in auto-login mode. If it stays in for longer than 30 sec. (rarely) and I select 'Internet' I am prompted to choose a network provider - something I don't want when using my WLAN. I never had the chance to use the browser or any internet service at all. I updated the phone software 2 days ago - no improvement!

My xDSL provider provides me with a wireless router which I have been using for ten years with no problem. I get 5 public IP addresses and when they are all assigned to MAC addresses I simply restart the xDSL modem to connect a new device. The following happens when I connect to my xDSL WiFi connection.
1. I have to enter the WEP security code (why doesn't Satio remember this so I don't have to enter it each time?)
2. It gives the message 'Connecting to my Wifi node'
3. It gives the message 'Checking internet connectivity' (I am assuming it is checking to see if the IP address is assigned)
4. It tries to go to my homepage www.google.com (shows a blank screen)
5. Then it times out and gives me an error message "Internet: No gateway reply" HOW DO I SEE WHAT IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY MY WIFI NODE?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
