A few days ago I updated 2.2.0.2.4.1 to 245. Now the software always crashes when syncing (Bluetooth & USB) with Outlook 2010 x64. My OS is Win 7 - X64. It's really frustrating beeing not able to sync anymore. Does anybody Know an alternative software for this?
View 8 RepliesWhen I come to open nokia ovi suite v2.2.0.241 while it is opening it crashes and i get the error Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem still occurs. These are the details of the error i am getting and i also included a attachment that shows a preview image of the crash.

Previous version was just fine, updated to new version tried, uninstalling, reinstalled. etc but crashes every time. Was initially ok, when outlook was not selected as conduit. But then changed contacts, notes and cal to outlook and Boom. Instant disaster.

When I go in to Tools > Options then select Contacts and select Microsoft Outlook, Ovi Suite crashes. There is the first Nokia phone so there has been no other Nokia software installed on this PC before.
I recently upgraded my Nokia software to OVI 2, or whatever its called. I will admit, it does look a bit better than the previous version, seems a bit nicer to use, and I like the fact that music, syncing and updating, is all now done from the same application.
Its about time I didn't have to have 3 separate applications installed for my one cellphone.
But I am having problems.
1. I use my phone to connect to the web, and within the first few minutes I was notified that OVI 2 has stopped working, and needs to close etc. I mean, I hardly used the app, and it crashes just from connecting to the web!?
2. I did a software update for my E63, and halfway through the update, OVI threw up an error and said the device was disconnected. I was nowhere near the USB cable. Thankfully, the software update must have completed, because the phone restarted, and when I checked my software version it was up to 2.00.21.
3. So, I unplugged the phone, plugged it back in to restore my contacts, etc. which worked fine, except I don't have any contacts. Why did the calender entries restore, but not the contacts? Luckily, I have all my numbers saved on my SIM anyways, so I just copied them from there.
Did I do something wrong during the backup/restore?
4. As I write this now, I thought I'd plug my phone in, and just check if I could do the restore again, but the phone no longer comes up with that selection menu allowing me to select PC Suite. I decided to restart my phone.
It has now frozen on the screen where you enter your PIN.
I have an issue with my Ovi Maps. I have Ovi Maps v3.01 09wk26 b02 running on Nokia N96.When I try to sync my favorites it crashes. Is there anyone with a solution? I have a lot of places marked which I need ro sync between Ovi Maps Online and phone.

Ovi suite recognizes phone 4. When i try to sync to back up or do anything for that matter, stupid message keeps appearing: "Please change the usb mode on your device to ovi suite or pc suite mode" My phone is always in pc suite mode. No option on phone for ovi suite mode. Firmware version 21.2.045 Tried switching phone to offline mode, disconnecting and reconnecting phone and nothing happens.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHi, I just upgraded to the Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241 and I'm still unable to sync with Outlook 2010. When I go to the Tools->Options->Device Sync, Calendar doesn't appear in the list. Also, when I select Options->Calendar and Tasks, it says I need to have Outlook installed.
I'm running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 with the latest patches, and trying to sync with a Nokia N97 with the latest firmware installed.
I have an E5 and everytime i try to sync my phone with my laptop the messages on my memory card dont show. I dont have a problem with the music, pictures and videos that are on my memory card, they sync just fine but none of the messages show. I have many important messages that i need to keep.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

I checked bluetooth device that im using, and made sure that phone bluetooth is on. In Attachment is shown how PC Suite and Bluetooth react when i try to reconnect the phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHave a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

I've deleted everything and restarted several times, but STILL ovi crashes on opening. In fact, I still haven't seen the software in action! Needless to say map loader doesn't work either ...
I thought PC suite was bad, but at least it connected. Anyone had any luck in solving this one? I'm connecting a 6700 to a windows PC, all standard stuff.
N97 Mini is crashing on following scenarios
1. Take the contact list, Search someone & make a Voice call with any one of his / her numbers, hang the line, quit the contact list. after some time the phone goes to sleep / restarts.
2. Take the call by swiping while the phone is locked. After the call is serviced the phone hangs indefinetly
I have the e72 for two months now and I Use it for my business. The thing is that the phone keeps crashing in mid conversation in a rate of once or twice a week. When it crash and restarts itself it takes around a minute until I can make a phone call.
This is unacceptable from a business device. Sometimes it crash just as I press the answer key on an incoming call and on other occasions it crashes in mid conversation.
I have the newest firmware version 22.007 installed and I even installed handy manager just to make sure that the phone doesn't run out of memory (is doesn't. I usually have above 25mb ram left).
On the background I have TR Lite (original, bought from Ovi store) running and recording all conversation and sometimes I have Fring for Skype and msn. Both of these apps are not set to be System Application, so even if the phone should sun out of memory it will close them and not crash...
I don't know what to do any more I even formatted the phone and installed everything from the beginning. I have sent Nokia 2 emails about a month ago (from the contact us in the website) and got no reply.Is this just me or does this happen to other peoples as well?
Another problem that I have is when creating new email. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the suggested email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (Sam, Sofia, Sandra, etc). For some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. If I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field every time.
Earlier I was using a licensed version of Nokia Mpas but never faced this problem. Since the free navigation has become available for E71, I've started facing this problem. I did a hard reset, deleted "Cities" folder and just installed Maps, but error persists.
When I go to OVI Mpas tio download it, the file that I get is "Nokia maps." I know that Nokia and Ovi Maps are one and the same thing, but soem posts on this forum sugegst that they might be different.
After upgrading to 3.03, the Map app closes after 10 seconds. It might work but. Tried installing again via PC download, no change.

Open Ovi Maps, see the main page, click on My Location the map appears a message about connecting might cost you something and the Ovi Maps disappears. I have to do the Factory Reset then only it works fine and resetting it works for few time and the problem occurs again. I Can't keep on resetting the phone again and again it has the latest software update V20.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using Ovi Maps 3.03 since it came out on my E55 and I generally prefer it over my TomTom. There are however a couple of problems with it - one major, the other minor.The big problem is that it occasionally crashes; the application exits and I'm left with the menu screen. This is more than a nuisance when driving, as it takes a lot of button pressing to get back to the route. The problem seems to have started (hard to tell, as it only happens occasionally) when I used Map Loader for the first time and followed the instructions to reinstall the application, apparently with the same version. I have since uninstalled that copy and returned to the version I originally downloaded, but it hasn't made a difference.Is this a common problem? I don't suppose voice commands work with Maps, do they?The other problem is that the screensaver kicks in after 30-90 seconds - the screen goes dark - except when a route is set. Is there any way to disable this?

Also, sometimes my pc doesn't crash ( i dont know why) but even then when i connect the mobile to the pc via usb, my pc continusly tries to install it as new hardware instead of detecting it in Pc Suite, and even then it never detects or installs it...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a firmware update on my e52 about a week or two ago and since then my phone has crashes and freezes when I plug it to my computer via USB cable and select PC Suite.It just crashes and the only thing that helps is removing the battery and even after that I need to repeat the battery removal for 2-3 times until it finally responds. Otherwise when I push the button to switch it on it just shakes, the screen stays blank and nothing else happens.
