I am unlikely ever to use the "Video call" facility on my N8.
How do I stop the option being presented in the contacts screen alongside Message and Voice Call? I could not see how to remove this option.
Does nokia 500 supports video calling? And When will be the Symbian belle update?

View 19 Replies View RelatedAnother problem with my new 5230: I have a pre-paid card (Pay and Go, Proximus, Belgium).I left my phone standby (and ... the battery still doesn't last 1 day, see other post) all day.I checked the amount of pre-paid credit I had in the morning.
I checked again a few hours later (and I did not use the phone): credit is decreased !Checked again a few hours later: credit still decreases. this is becoming very expensive (few Euro's a day) so here are my questions:
-anyone any idea what can cause this?
-anyone any idea how I can find out what causes this when no-one knows? ;-)
-how can I disable ALL possible "auto-connections" ?
The manual states that the indicator light should flash red during video calls when the front-facing camera is active.I've made video calls using Skype but my indicator light has remained off.Has anyone experienced the flashing red light or is it a general bug?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling.When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.

Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Is that possible and is that the case with this phone?It's actually one of the reasons that I bought it, so I'm kind of disappointed I can't find a way to use it.
Video Call Time up to 3.0 hours.so I'd expect it does have it.
Is it important that I bought it here in Slovenia?
I wanna know if the video calling is available on both N97 ("normal" and mini). Depending on the website, it's available on both or only on the "normal".

Now I'm looking for a software through which I can have video chat. I have a software called Nimbuzz and it is good for voice but I can't have video chat through it. So is there anyone out there who can suggest me a software through which I can video chat and my phone also must support that?,Don't suggest Skype as it hangs my phone every time I try to have have voice or video conversation.

At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.
i am unable to make calls. When I try to make phone call it doesn't even try to make the call. I choose a name from the address book to call and nothing happens. After restaring the phone it works fine. An even more annoying problem is that when this has happened my phone doesn't receive calls either. I've heard that people have tried to call me and it has rang normally but my phone doesn't show that someone has called me. Otherwise the phone works fine so I newer know that it is in this "problem state" until I try to make a call.Software version is 025.007.240.02

Because of that issue, I can't listen to my voicemails because you need to send dialing signals to use your voicemail box.
I just received my N8 from repair and they changed the main chip for it with the newest software. Now it gives me black screen when calling / receiving calls. It also does this when clock has alert on.I can turn the screen on with the "unlocking slide" but this in general is extremely annoying and pointless. I was thinking to take it back to repair shop, but wanted to ask about this first here.
