Nokia Nseries :: N8 Can't Get The Keyboard While Calling?
Feb 3, 2011If I call a number where they have a menu where you have to choose from. I can't manage to get my keyboard to make a choice. Does any one know how to do this?

Dec 22, 2010My N8 does display calling name from contacts, rather displays only the number. I have tried rebooting the phone after re-inserting SIM (multiple times), but no result. Any fix for this??This irritates in a big way, as you can't recognise as who is calling.

Nokia Nseries :: N8 Not Showing Name Of Contact Calling
Jan 13, 2011I have seen a strange issue with N8. At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.

Dec 23, 2011i am unable to make calls. When I try to make phone call it doesn't even try to make the call. I choose a name from the address book to call and nothing happens. After restaring the phone it works fine. An even more annoying problem is that when this has happened my phone doesn't receive calls either. I've heard that people have tried to call me and it has rang normally but my phone doesn't show that someone has called me. Otherwise the phone works fine so I newer know that it is in this "problem state" until I try to make a call.Software version is 025.007.240.02

Jan 29, 2012I found that I can't use the numeric keypad while calling with my N8. Is it possible to show the numerica keypad as possible as other Symbian devices are?
Because of that issue, I can't listen to my voicemails because you need to send dialing signals to use your voicemail box.

Mar 9, 2011I just received my N8 from repair and they changed the main chip for it with the newest software. Now it gives me black screen when calling / receiving calls. It also does this when clock has alert on.I can turn the screen on with the "unlocking slide" but this in general is extremely annoying and pointless. I was thinking to take it back to repair shop, but wanted to ask about this first here.

Oct 11, 2010One of the most desired features of this N8 phone for me was the ability to use bt keyboard and mouse. Now I bought the keyboard and mouse and what happened, nothing.Both devices are found when searching bt -devices. Keyboard doesn't even go to the pairing, it halts to password questions (where I type 0000). Then message:" Keyboard cannot be connected).With mouse, I can get one step further. When prompting password, I type 0000, the mouse gets paired, but when I try to connect, message comes:" Bluetooth connection cannot be created". Or similar cause the message is in finnish language. But I think you got the point. Items I have purchased are:

May 31, 2010I had to make an emergency call using my N82. I did not know my exact location so I tried to use GPS while calling. The GPS was not working but there was an error messge like "No GPS signal, you should go outside" or something like that.I was already outside and waited about 10 mins for GPS to get a fix (typically the a-GPS find the location in seconds). It did not get a fix at all and I ended the emergency call. Immediately after that the GPS started to work. So I called to the emergency number (112) once again. But he GPS location was lost when I called and worked again when I ended the call. So it seems that the GPS of the phone is not working while doing an emergency call!
I just wanted to inform everybody that in case of emergency, don't waste your time trying to get a GPS fix while making an emergency call.Anyone knows if this is a known limitation or a bug?

( i.e. someone sent you an SMS with a telephone number, you have to WRITE IT DOWN for you to save it. call it, etc..., you can't just 'use number'...), I am very bothered by this because this feature is so basic that it is included almost on all mobile phones... and SHOULD be included as well. Aug 12, 2010I have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling.When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.

Feb 4, 2010Another problem with my new 5230: I have a pre-paid card (Pay and Go, Proximus, Belgium).I left my phone standby (and ... the battery still doesn't last 1 day, see other post) all day.I checked the amount of pre-paid credit I had in the morning.
I checked again a few hours later (and I did not use the phone): credit is decreased !Checked again a few hours later: credit still decreases. this is becoming very expensive (few Euro's a day) so here are my questions:
-anyone any idea what can cause this?
-anyone any idea how I can find out what causes this when no-one knows? ;-)
-how can I disable ALL possible "auto-connections" ?
Nokia :: 5230 Have Video Calling Option
Apr 4, 2010Does Nokia 5230 have video calling option? Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Is that possible and is that the case with this phone?It's actually one of the reasons that I bought it, so I'm kind of disappointed I can't find a way to use it.
Video Call Time up to 3.0 hours.so I'd expect it does have it.
Is it important that I bought it here in Slovenia?

However, when I make/recieve a phone call, even when the volume is turned up to the max, it's still too low compared to my iPhone when paired with the same headset.
