The manual states that the indicator light should flash red during video calls when the front-facing camera is active.I've made video calls using Skype but my indicator light has remained off.Has anyone experienced the flashing red light or is it a general bug?
View 5 RepliesI have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling.When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.

Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Now I'm looking for a software through which I can have video chat. I have a software called Nimbuzz and it is good for voice but I can't have video chat through it. So is there anyone out there who can suggest me a software through which I can video chat and my phone also must support that?,Don't suggest Skype as it hangs my phone every time I try to have have voice or video conversation.

I also got another one for my girlfriend, so I hope we could be BBM addicts I would like to ask something about Storm 2. Is "usual" to have the red led flashing only while calling? Our new devices are always doing this, so I couldn't figure if this is ok or not. My "old" 9500 didn't do this at all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else see the status light flicker when you are making calls?I am not talking about a normal red on/off but a very faint red, fast flicker.I didn't notice until I made a call in the dark and saw the flicker. It does it while the phone dials and even when in use.I would appreciate it if someone else could check their to see if it does the same. I am worried this will seriously drain the battery.

1)I installed Skype on the phone and it seems to work fine; however, I cannot figure out how to do video calling. I assumed that the front camera was there for the sole purpose of doing video to video calls; however, when my wife tried to make a video call to me I didn't receive video (she called my from her computer, on the exact same WiFi router).I went through every setting I could find and was unable to locate anything that would enable video calls.
2)I have noticed that my cellular reception seems weak compared to my wife's Motorolla XT 720.She regularly has 1-2 bars more than me in the exact same place.Any ideas why and if there is anything I can do to improve my cellular reception?
3)Whenever I get a new computer I like to remove all the bloatware installed by the manufacturer.I'd like to do the same on the phone, but I know so little about Android that I'm afraid I might remove something important.My phone is factory unlocked (but not jail broken) and seems to have a lot of AT&T junk on it that I really don't want/need. Are there any installed apps that I'd be better off leaving alone, and are there any that I really want to make sure I ditch?
4)I made the mistake of adding my facebook account when I set up my MotoBlur (another yuck ).Unfortunately I'm overseas for a couple years, and have no desire for these people to show up in my contacts when I'm trying to make a phone call.Is there any way to delete all my facebook contacts from my telephone contacts?
Will Sony release the ICS with the ability to take video calls form the 3g network? Currently we can only take video calls through 3rd party apps like Skype and with the data connection on.

After the complaint against him I was being told from the Sony store that the ICS update would include the video calling facility through our operator networks. This is the same notification that appeared (correctly) when this feature was introduced a while ago, and after you went into Settings to enable this, it wouldn't appear again.
I know this may be speculation but this may be the deal breaker for me to get the next phone. I have a child off to college pretty soon who uses skype video regularly with her friends and I will assume with me also. I have actually gotten the skype video to work on my little Nokia N79 fairly well and would like my next phone to also have this capability so I can talk with her when she's away but I am not near my computer.

I read on Skype's website that Tegra 2 devices such as the Atrix can't do video calling because the chipset doesn't have NEON technology support. Is this something that can be changed with a software update, or is this something that Tegra 2 devices will never be able to have?

Has anyone noticed how bad the video and pictures are on the iphone 4 for low light.It takes a LED light to make ANYTHING not blurry when taking a picture,and for videos in dark areas (ie a club) it is just awful. There was so much noise in the video and no focus whatsoever.I was planning on not taking my point and shoot to parties,but i guess I have to go back,cause the quality is just really awful during the night.Any apps out there to help cure it?The daytime it works wonders though.

I do think that it looks GREAT in standard light situations like a lot of the ones in the standard lit video thread but the flash does light the picture well when dark.What do you think of the quality with low/no light and flash?
