I've recently moved to O2 from Vodafone on my Nokia 700 and since the switch (or at least around this time - it may be unrelated) I can no longer access things on the Internal wireless network at home (eg. login to my wireless router, or NAS) via the IP address (or any other means I'm aware of. It is quite happy to access websites via the wireless network, and will connect to it fine

View 9 Replies View RelatedIf an SMS arrives, it beeps etc. I unlock it (onscreen unlock) and about 1/3 of the time I see a notification like "message arrived - display it?" and I can see it right away.But in most cases there is nothing at all after the phone is unlocked. I have to go into the Messages app, and there I can see the message at the top of the list

The phone states that the card is corrupted.To test the card I have tried it both in a pc and a Samsung phone and have both recognised and utilised the card correctly. I also tried an old 512mb micro sd from the Samsung in the Nokia and again the Nokia said that this was also corrupted but this works perfectly in the Samsung I have downloaded all latest updates etc The card is a brand new Lexar 32gb micro sdhc class 10 I am unable to format the card in the N700 as I cannot get past the corrupted card message?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you start maps after having done a backup with the internal file manager, the GPS satellite dish symbol doesn't show up. Maps is not finding any route after showing the location based on UMTS. Although everythings looks ok in maps (you cannot see the missing GPS symbol), navigation will not work. Maps shows always the same location (looks like frozen). I had this now two time in heavy traffic in Aachen an Baden-Baden until I figured out the root cause.. To resolve the situation you need to switch off and on the N8. It is a night mare when you cannot restart the N8 while driving, and you cannot stop on a major street.The bug is reproducable. I hope it gets fixed fast. It's a pitty that maps doesn't show any error warning when getting started about the missing GPS. The recent Belle refresh had no solution to the problem. The bug is with both maps 3.08 and 3.09. Never do an automatic backup when you want to use maps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with creating new email. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). For some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. If I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone! Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.
I performed a hard reset on my Nokia E72 last night.The problem I am encountering now is when I try to add my email addresses back to the Nokia messaging Program it keeps asking me for the password.Even when I enter the correct password it just keeps asking for it over and over again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received my new Nokia 5800XM yesterday and was told in-store that the GPS would work automatically. So went home and tried it for the first time, it discovered my position in under 5 minutes, and I was super excited as I got the phone solely for the purpose of navigating my way around the new city I had just moved to. However, when selected the "drive", "walk" or "search" options it didn't give any results for my searches for addresses. I tried a bunch of variations on the names of places and even used google maps as a reference of how to write out the addresses but it has a standard "no results found" every time. It also jumps between "searching online" and "searching offline". I visited the Nokia website to see if I could find a solution, and subsequently upgraded the software on my phone, downloaded the maps installer, the map loader and the multimedia transfer. I then deleted all the existing maps and installed the map for my country and a voice.
It is still, despite having no problem with connectivity, not giving me any search results. Is there some place that you set the phone to search the maps installed on the memory card? As I think that the phone searches online and the connectivity might be interrupted? really have no clue about these things. searched everywhere and couldn't find setting for this. I can scroll through the map and manually select a place, after which the GPS works fine except - the voice isn't working! Does it talk out loud? or do you need your headphones? This is fine if you're going somewhere that you know, but that's kind of defeating the point of having GPS, no? Another small problem is that I have a constant flashing little envelope in the right top corner, it says that "SIM card is full" - but I can't find a directory for the SIM card? It's been flashing since the moment I put the SIM in the phone, but never did it with my old phone. Any idea where I can access the SIM information and delete some of it?
I have an E75 for a few months now and I have a problem that totally confuses me: I constantly keep getting the System Message that my Internal Memory C: is full and that I need to either delete files or move them to the flash memory. Sometimes it also refuses to open emails, because of the lack of memory.
The sad part is that almost all of my data already is on the flash card, not on the internal drive. There's literally nothing left to delete from the internal memory. I also tried deleting my personal data from the web browser, but it didn't help much. I checked the data that is stored on the internal memory and it is about 18MB while the phone's file manager sais I have only about 2MB free memory left. 20 MB total memory size seems a little small to me, shouldn't it be 50MB?

The error is "internal error closing app". My concern now is reading lots of blogs i'm currently concerned that the N900 is not yet ready for the market and perhaps should be looking for something else. Is the phone the way forward?

I have done a hard reset on a nokia e66 with firmware 410. When I first connected to ovi suite the maps module showed me internal error. But it wasn't any server error or try again etc. The steps are the following:
1) Format memory card
2) Download ovi maps from nokia website.
3) Open the maps in the phone and accept all the messages
4) Connect to the ovi suite and open maps.
5) And then magically it will tell you that you need an update on the maps.
6) Now I am in this step which updating but I think it has stuck.
Shame on you nokia for all these problems for a business telephone such as e66. That's why apple is always a level ahead in its interface and is winning just from that. Simplicity just simplicity.
My girlfriend's N95 8Gb came to something of a nasty end over the weekend. No screen, no keyboard, camera unit's out, but, with a battery the lights still come on. The question is whether we can recover anything from the internal 8Gb flash memory. Any thoughts as to whether anything's salvageable and/or how to go about it? Has anybody been in the same position and succeeded in recovering any data?

Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. I have now noticed that I can no longer save any data on the internal memory, on the microSd there is no problem. I have no idea how to solve this problem so any advice would be great.

When I check (settings, memory) It says memory card corrupt 1.86GB available. When I check File Manager, It says no files/folders. I tried flashing the firmware and emmc and it worked everything was back. But when I restart my phone same notification. When run mount/home/user/MyDocs via X-Terminal.
