The advertising / presentation video for 3.03 shows a dude giving voice commands / direction to his phone, which starts to navigate to the correct address without a finger touched the phone. How will I do this on N97, is it possible?
View 4 RepliesMaps are never finding my GPS location. It just continues to search and search. I have tried rebooting, holding down the button for 8 seconds and getting the 3 buzzes but no luck.
If I use the check in feature - it works - finds my location an places nearby.
Drive To Navigation fails. It used to find my location extremely fast. Am I able to uninstall it and reinstall Nokia Maps?
GPS is not working in N8-00 after Symbian Anna software update. Previous it is working, when I will open the Map, it is not locating the point where we stand, only it is searching, their is no result at all.

All I can do as of now is choose "Own Voice" in the Settings -> Walk/Drive -> Voice Guidance. But where to RECORD my own voice?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSincer the GB update when I run the navigation app and tap the contacts option for a destination, it says that my contacts have no adresses. This is of course is incorrect. I have rebooted and even done a battery pull. I have avoided doing a full reset in the hopes someone here knows a fix for this.

As in it doesn't say when to make a left or right.When I had the phone (brand new) it has nokia maps and then I updated it thru my phone and gave me Ovi Maps.

When I use the navigation it just says searching for gps but will not lock on and give me turn by turn directions. Have tried turn off/on. I've installed the Ovi Maps 2.0 and download, through the nokia program the maps for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese voice. During the "Drive"/"Walk" options in Ovi Maps, there is no voice. I don't know what to do. I've checked the updates on the phone software and map software through the computer and it says as the last version.

View 27 Replies View RelatedThe "No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth" problem seems to be well documented on this board as well as elsewhere on the web,In-Car bluetooth connections that work fine for phonecalls will not relay voice directions from Maps, and the phone itself stays mute. In effect, no voice directions are heard at all.The reason seems clear as well: The bluetooth standard allows for several different kinds of sound-streams for priority purposes etc. Most In-Car bluetooth devices however (including several NOKIA-ones), accept only actual phonecalls. Hence, all oher sound is muted while connected to the car.The rather obvious solution would be to have a setup-item in Ovi-Maps that forces all sound from the program to use the phones integrated speakers instead of an operative Bluetooth connection. (Use Bluetooth connection for Voice directions On/Off).
NO NOKIA STAFF have responded to aknowledge the problem or comment on it's possible solution or workaround. (And I have not found any third party app that adresses the issue.)One might speculate that the reason would be the design of the operating system, choosing to handle all sound in a similar way, which undoubtedly is a good thing ... in most cases, but in this case dissalows usage of the free navigation in the one situation it is of the highest value - IN THE CAR.NOW - as FREE NAVIGATION becomes a major selling point and the aplication can't work in a modern car while maintaining legal phone connectivity, NOKIA needs to accept this reality, and make Ovi-maps useable for these users as well even if that means defying a design principle.For reference, I use version 3.03 10wk01 b05 of Ovi-maps on my NOKIA N97 mini with a factory fitted Alfa Romeo "Blue&Me" bluetooth kit, developed by Microsoft Automotive.
Why can't I use a Dutch voice for the walking Nav?
In Car Nav it is availble but I can't choose it for walking nav
I have just purchased the new N900 phone. First impression is it looks very good and works well, BUT still lacking the key features of the N96 such as:
Ovi Maps does not provide voice navigation. Java is not supported so such brilliant apps such as the Opera browsers can not be installed onto it. PC suite is not yet available it the phone. So at first glance it is a great phone that could match the IPhone, but more work needs to be done to it to make it the all singing and dancing phone that Nokia needs it to be. If i am wrong on these points could someone point me in the right direction of addressing them
I own a Nokia E71 and I am very excited about Nokia Maps. I am not a good computer user but somehow managed to land into this forum. I have downloaded Nokia Maps on my Nokia - E71 and its awesome but the voice navigation is not working. When I tried to download Voices using "Map Loader" it shows no entry. I have attached the screenshot of "Map Loader" for your reference.

View 5 Replies View Relatedif I start Navigation, it says: "Checking the availability of the navigation-function." Nothing more. Navigation wont let me in the Program. The message could be written different in english, because i have got it in german: "Verfügbarkeit der Navigationsfunktion wir überprüft".So, what is the matter? Why it's only checking? I went out for it, had free view to the sky, didn't put my fingers on the GPS reciever.....It checked for about 30 mins now, and nothing happens.

A few things that i discovered and its bad! Comparing to E71, E72 is very bad. By the way, this is the second E72 i am using. I bought one before, same issue, now the secound one, Same ISSUE again!
Here are the problems: I need to type in Chinese (pinyin) but whenever the language is switched to Chinese input, the calculator does not allow me to input decimal (how bad this is!).
Also in Chinese mode, once back to English input, the SPACE bar input is NOT WORKING. The only way is to restart the damm phone.
I'd like to download Own Voice for Nokia Maps in a X6-00 (16Gb) Symbian 5th edition phone. I tried to find it in the nokia store but I don't see the application there any more. I created a voice pack some time ago that I would like very much to use in a different phone.

after updating Ovi Maps to final version 3.06 10wk50 with new maps 0.2.42.122 the German voice guidance with street names is broken. The voice announces i.e. to turn right in one kilometer and again to turn right now, but the announcement to turn right in about 300 meters including the street name or the highway number and direction is missing completely. Sometimes the command to turn now is also left out. I tried using the German female voice without street names as well as the UK English voice with street names - both work well without any problems.I already reinstalled Ovi Maps via Ovi Store, deleted the qf file and the cities folder on the mass memory and re-downloaded the map and voice files, I resetted the phone via *#7370# and reinstalled the actual firmware (013.016) via Ovi Suite without success.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed maps of Australia and the surfer dude voice using map loader. However my maps application did not detect any drive navigation voice. When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.

The voice input dialog pops up, but nothing that's said is heard and the input mode just reacts as if it just got silence.
I may have had the phone connected to my bluetooth speaker phone in the car at some point (or a headset), but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm locked out of my phone. Whenever my phone restarts, it for some reason always changes the default input to Google Voice Input. I just recently changed my security from a Pattern to a Pin. The only problem is now I can't enter my unlock PIN with the google voice keyboard. I said the numbers followed by "enter" and "return" or the numbers by themselves but it didn't work.
