For the past couple of days my gps on my phone won't work. When I use the navigation it just says searching for gps but will not lock on and give me turn by turn directions. Have tried turn off/on. Especially when my buddy is right next to me in the car using google maps on his iPhone and his works great. We both have at&t.

Navigation automatically closes when Atrix goes to sleep, which is a pain while driving. The only solution is to wake up the phone, restart the navigation.
I have a HTC Incredible also and do not have the same problem on that device. FYI: I am on the latest system version 4.1.83
Maps are never finding my GPS location. It just continues to search and search. I have tried rebooting, holding down the button for 8 seconds and getting the 3 buzzes but no luck.
If I use the check in feature - it works - finds my location an places nearby.
Drive To Navigation fails. It used to find my location extremely fast. Am I able to uninstall it and reinstall Nokia Maps?
The advertising / presentation video for 3.03 shows a dude giving voice commands / direction to his phone, which starts to navigate to the correct address without a finger touched the phone. How will I do this on N97, is it possible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSincer the GB update when I run the navigation app and tap the contacts option for a destination, it says that my contacts have no adresses. This is of course is incorrect. I have rebooted and even done a battery pull. I have avoided doing a full reset in the hopes someone here knows a fix for this.

The message could be written different in english, because i have got it in german: "Verfügbarkeit der Navigationsfunktion wir überprüft".So, what is the matter? Why it's only checking? I went out for it, had free view to the sky, didn't put my fingers on the GPS reciever.....It checked for about 30 mins now, and nothing happens.

The bluetooth works perfectly with the phone but the directions for the navigation won't come through. I don't have an aux plug on my car radio. Am I missing some setting or some nuance to this setup?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my upgrade to Atrix 4G , all the extras are overkill.....but that is not my problem...I set the screen timeout to 20 minutes, and when it goes to sleep (or what ever it does) to wake it up have to push on/off switch....that part is easy....but Then I have to slide that silly lock thing across the screen to unlock, by then the person is on voice mail.The other phones I have had you could disable the screen lock when at home (use as house phone)and then when wanted to go out lock it.....
View 13 Replies View RelatedFirst off, let me just say that I am very pleasantly surprised at how well the ICS upgrade went for my Atrix2. First off, the upgrade itself went smoothly and I lost no data. Second, the phone seems much snappier in all respects. Third, I like some of the new features that ICS provides.
One question I do have is whether it is possible to change the applications that are available on the lock screen? For example, I use a popular third party app for my camera (CameraZoom) and it would be nice to be able to access it from the lock screen instead of the stock camera.
i have just bought the atrix 2 a couple of days back and i updated to 2.3.6 (surprisingly) i have the stock lockscreen and wanted to customise it, as in it just has 2 options sound and unlock, i have seen someplace that you can add a 3rd and 4th option also as in some application on the top or bottom also another problem i have faced is with the facebook notifications, i donot recieve them at all, i have to manually check them on facebook application.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter my Atrix was updated last week, I have been having problems (as with many others, it seems). My most glaring issues is that the screen does not go 'inactive' when I place a phone call and put the phone up to my ear.
Consequently, my cheek will press all sorts of buttons on the phone while I'm talking, and may times it turns out to be the Mute or EndCall button. When the End Call is hit, the phone actually locks up and needs to be rebooted.
It basically makes me have to place all of my phone calls on speakerphone in order to be useful.
When on a call, with the phone to cheek, the screen does not lock. Is there a setting or something that I am missing?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally figured out why the pattern screen unlock is getting grayed out on my A2. I am using corporate email to fetch webmail from ky.gov. Tried a couple of "fixes" but every time re-setup the corporate, the pattern screen lock goes away. Is there a way around this? I tried setting up the webmail a different way, but that won't get the email. Since losing the fingerprint scanner, I really became partial to the pattern lock/unlock.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.3.4, I am not able to change screen lock to "pattern". Option for "Pattern" is disabled and says Disabled by remote phone administrator. I tried de-selecting all the apps listed in Device Administrators but no luck. I even removed my work email (Corporate Sync) and then restarted the phone...again...no luck. Right now I have PIN and Fingerprint setup.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Pattern Setup as my lock screen for my phone, and 2 out of the 3 times I try to unlock it, it doesn't work. I try to drag the pattern out, but it thinks i lifted my finger and the lines go red, like when you guess the wrong pattern, and the lines go crazy, shooting to random dots on the lock screen, making it very tempremental. When this occurs i just click the lock button to shut the screen off, and then try again. Even after I do this, it still won't work and the lock screen will go crazy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with my Atrix 4G since the start of the New Year (2012). I have had the phone since July with no problems, but not i hear and sense feedback, but it takes over a minute for the phone to reawaken from sleep mode (screen to turn on to the unlock screen).
Once it does, I see the cellular signal strength icon showing it was disconnected and trying to re-acquire the cell netwrok (not the wifi part, the AT&T part).
This long delay puts a real damper on how I can use the phone to make a quick call, or snap a random photo to capture a moment.
Once I'm in, however, it'll work fine for a while, and then if I am NOT using wifi, it may lock up the screen refresh (I get haptic and audio feedback on my taps until the buffer fills, but screen freezes and even turing the unit off does not shut the screen) and sometimes it'll be minutes before I see the cell signal thing do the same thing, or I just get tired of waiting and pull the battery.
if this is a settings thing or a hardware or OS issue. My phone is under warranty, but I don't want to swap it out without knowing if there's a fix. I hate to get a new phone and find out it's happening again.
Anybody know of an app or method to disable the screen lock when a bluetooth connection is established? It would be great if it would re-enable when the connection is dropped. I would find this particularly helpful when using my Atrix as a music player or when in the car so that I don't have to unlock with a pin or fingerprint (which can be difficult when in a dock).Perhaps, I have to disable the lock completely.

which works very well in the USA. I have no data plan with T-mobile so I do not use any internet connectivity to assist the GPS. I went to the Dominican Republic where I had no T-Mobile coverage (and didn't expect to) for 10 days and just got back. Before I left I loaded the DR map onto my phone. I thought that the GPS should work fine there because it doen't require a data plan and it doesn't require any phone coverage. I could never get a GPS lock or even show a GPS signal while there. Am I wrong about what is required for the GPS to work on these phones?
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have several entry's in my phone contacts (set up as google contacts) where they have no first or last name and only and organization name (i.e. ABC Plumbing Supply). The name shows up in my contact list on my phone, however, when I search for these contacts, either with the search function in the contacts app, or the search glass in the bottom right corner, I do not get these contacts in my search query.I saw another thread where someone had to do a hard reset which seemed to fix this. I really would like to avoid that if possible...Another thread said to clear the contact storage cache - mine currently has 0 kb and is not selectable.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having an issue where the GPS indicator blinks non-stop (indicating the phone is actively using GPS) every time you start the phone (reboot)?
Anytime I cycle the phone, the GPS searches and apparently does not stop. If I use the GPS Toggle widget (the included one) and toggle it off and then on, it stops until an application uses it.
I have checked and do not see an app that would use GPS starting automatically. If I can, I will be reporting it to the developer.
I'm having a strange issue which I have not found on any forums.Up until yesterday I had a Droid X, which was working fine until the speaker had an issue. So, I did a factory reset. First one ever since going to Gingerbread. Since then, if I use the hard button to search for contacts the results always send me to the same contact.For example: Lets say I have contacts John Smith, Larry Jones, and Susan Doe.Search for Doe, shows me Susan Doe's name, click on her name...and John Smith opens up.Search for Jones, shows me Larry Jones' name, click on his name...and John Smith opens up.No pattern as to why it's John Smith. Not first in the contact list or anything. And, if I delete John Smith, then another contact becomes the 'go-to' contact. Again, no pattern as to why.
So, why is this in the Droid X2 forum? Because I didn't worry too much about this issue since I was getting a new phone, a Droid X2. Got the new phone, set it up...and the same issue is in this one. I did not import any contacts directly from the one phone to the other using VZW or Gmail. All contacts are loaded via DejaOffice/Companionlink. Very frustrating, since the hard button was how I would bring up my contacts.
Is there a way to look for a specific file or folder on the X2? The search button brings up Google search. I don't want to search online, just on my phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got my photon about a week ago and I have been having some problems. First, when I slide open the phone I more than frequently get a long freeze. It will take sometimes up to 15-20 seconds for the phone to open. I thought it this was fixed from the update, but it started to happen again. Then, when searching for a name in my contacts, it takes upto 20-30 seconds to find the contact if it finds it at all. I know these bugs seem minute, but they are definitely annoying. I am also getting the random restart on my phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have my Droid Xyboard set so that the if the screen turns off and its not plugged into the power adapter, the wifi will disconnect. (Under Wifi Settings > Wi-Fi disconnect Policy > select "Never when plugged in"). The wifi is supposed to connect automatically when I turn the screen on (I assume), but that doesn't always happen, many times it just sits there searching for a connection, and I have to manually turn off the wifi radio, then turn it on again, and then it connects automatically.
I have my IP settings set to "static" - which has improved the problem I think, but has not completely solved it. My security setting on my router is (WPA/WPA2 PSK) - but this happens with other wifi networks as well. My Mobile network connection is always turned off, unless I come to use it, I manually turn on the 3G/4G LTE radio.
