I realise one can use Nokia Suite to do this but will it copy over installed apps? I am just trying to create a spare phone. I did this with the Nokia E51 (using the PC Suite) and the apps did not get copied over. What is the easiest way to copy over the installed apps?
View 9 RepliesIf an SMS arrives, it beeps etc. I unlock it (onscreen unlock) and about 1/3 of the time I see a notification like "message arrived - display it?" and I can see it right away.But in most cases there is nothing at all after the phone is unlocked. I have to go into the Messages app, and there I can see the message at the top of the list

The phone states that the card is corrupted.To test the card I have tried it both in a pc and a Samsung phone and have both recognised and utilised the card correctly. I also tried an old 512mb micro sd from the Samsung in the Nokia and again the Nokia said that this was also corrupted but this works perfectly in the Samsung I have downloaded all latest updates etc The card is a brand new Lexar 32gb micro sdhc class 10 I am unable to format the card in the N700 as I cannot get past the corrupted card message?

Old phones were simple copy to sim! I have tried mail for exchange but unfortunately this has never worked for me on the N900 I always get same error message re contacting the server! I would really like to be able to use the same contacts on my new phone to save me having to input by hand.

I tried to send them using Bluetooth but they received as messages; so I have 800 contacts that means I received 800 messages. It obvious that it will take a huge time to open each message (or business card) and then save it to my new phone.

I recently bought Nokia 6760 and I wanted to update Europe Maps (that's 2.2GB) As i had 2GB card in the phone, i changed it for 4GB SDHC, all files copied and still 3.6GB free space on the card. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an N85, which I love by the way, and the other day found a way to copy all my texts from the phone memory to my memory card. This was great as I could save my important messages and keep the phone memory free. I wanted to repeat this procedure, but can't find a way to do it.
The way I did it at first was go to Messaging/Options/Settings/Other/Memory in Use and select "memory card" rather than "Nokia". Upon exiting it asked it I wanted to copy my existing messages to the memory card, so which I replied yes.
Now it doesn't ask anymore, so my question is, does anyone know if this is a one shot deal, or is there a way these messages can be copied?

I just got my new phone (Lumia 900) today and so far I love it! I transferred my music via Zune but when my old phone an N900 died I copied my contacts list onto my laptop. I have a folder of vCard files which I want to put on my new phone. I have connected via the USB cord but the phone doesn't appear on the list of drives etc. in windows explorer. For some reason it appears in devices and drivers, but I can't drag an drop into it. What I need is a similar thing to the sync option in Zune. To be clear this is my list of phone contact numbers only, not email etc.

I have tried Windows explorer as well as the Windows Desktop App. I can see my phone in explorer and I an click to open the Music folder. When I try to copy/paste to there it just hangs and then I get an error message to stop or skip copying? I am using Windows 7 SP1. This is a deal breaker if I can't get music and photos on here.

I didn't have a recent backup of data on this so I can't just plug in a harddrive and get everything back, but what I want to do is connect my iPhone to my replacement mbp and copy everything off it before it does a sync. I know that when it syncs for the first time it will erase everything so want to avoid losing all my photos, apps, music, contacts etc!I know Apple don't really tell you how to do this but I'm sure there is a way around it. I am using DM 5.0 with the sync feature, and I chose the address book destination to my Outlook express but upon syncing it defaults to the generic Windows Address book. But I get a fail message, that Address book is not available.
I tried it both on XP and Vista but it wont budge. No contacts get copied over.
I managed to deleted all the text messages between my partner and I accidently when I had to get my faulty iPhone 4 replaced. Even worse, I have about 200 contacts that I need transfered to my new phone (Nokia actually).To do this, I want to copy my contacts to the SIM card. As you have probably realized by now, the broken screen makes this a challenge. What I'm hoping for is that someone with an E66 will give me a keypress-by-keypress walkthrough to copy the contacts from the phone to the SIM. That way, I can hopefully do it blindly.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy my contacts from my old Sony Ericsson W595 to my new Sony Ericsson X10 mini phone.I downloaded a bluetooth file transfer app from the Android Market (As I know the Sony Ericsson s/w doesn't yet support bluetooth file transfer) and this works well and lets me 'pull' photos from my old phone without any problem.
However I am running into problems trying to copy my address book backup from the memory card on my W595.. I can browse to it in the system/pim folder however when I select to transfer it to my phone I get an error saying 'unrecgonised mime type' and I get asked which application to open the file with. I've tried a few options but I can't seem to find anything that knows what to do with the .vcf file.
Is there an easy way to add .vcf as a mime type? Or is there a better way to transfer my contacts to my x10? Even though I have installed the bluetooth file transfer app, my old phone still can't detect my x10 when searching for bluetooth devices..
