View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy my contacts from my old Sony Ericsson W595 to my new Sony Ericsson X10 mini phone.I downloaded a bluetooth file transfer app from the Android Market (As I know the Sony Ericsson s/w doesn't yet support bluetooth file transfer) and this works well and lets me 'pull' photos from my old phone without any problem.
However I am running into problems trying to copy my address book backup from the memory card on my W595.. I can browse to it in the system/pim folder however when I select to transfer it to my phone I get an error saying 'unrecgonised mime type' and I get asked which application to open the file with. I've tried a few options but I can't seem to find anything that knows what to do with the .vcf file.
Is there an easy way to add .vcf as a mime type? Or is there a better way to transfer my contacts to my x10? Even though I have installed the bluetooth file transfer app, my old phone still can't detect my x10 when searching for bluetooth devices..

Currently I have a new bold 9000, I tried to copy my sim card contact to the address book on bold. It came out to be only 200+ contact were shown on my bold, the rest of the 600+ contact was not copy to it. Can anyone please help me out by how to completely transfer all my contacts from my sim to my bold.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen one of my phone contacts texts me, their name has a small mobile phone icon at the side of their name instead of the standard icon.This icon also shows up in my email inbox and BBM when they text me, and I can also open their texts in my email and BBM.I can also reply via SMS using my email and my BBM.When they text me a message, the standard message symbol doesn't appear, although the light flashes the colour I have set to that contact, and a BBM symbol comes up. If I open the message in the SMS or Email inbox, the BBM symbol disappears. I've tried rebooting the phone, and it doesn't do this with any other of my contacts.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThe one thing I don't get is the picture contacts that I have don't show up when the phone is locked, (the caller ID and specific ring tone if used do), they do show up though if the phone is unlocked, so I'm confused. I know there is the caller ID issue that is resolved by un-ticking contacts in encryption which is what I have done otherwise the contact ID's wouldn't show up when locked. It's not the end of the world, but just a niggle that I would like to resolve.

I didn't have a recent backup of data on this so I can't just plug in a harddrive and get everything back, but what I want to do is connect my iPhone to my replacement mbp and copy everything off it before it does a sync. I know that when it syncs for the first time it will erase everything so want to avoid losing all my photos, apps, music, contacts etc!I know Apple don't really tell you how to do this but I'm sure there is a way around it. Its very critical as I can't sync my phone until I sort this out otherwise I will lose everything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?

I am using DM 5.0 with the sync feature, and I chose the address book destination to my Outlook express but upon syncing it defaults to the generic Windows Address book. But I get a fail message, that Address book is not available.
I tried it both on XP and Vista but it wont budge. No contacts get copied over.
I managed to deleted all the text messages between my partner and I accidently when I had to get my faulty iPhone 4 replaced. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a select number of .MOV files that were taken from my iphone originally but, why I try and transfer them back to my phone I get an error.
The process I do is: Import the Mov files in to ITunes Movies (Play OK) Go in to my Iphone 4, select Movies and pick the relevant Mov file. Click Sync
I then get the following error from ITunes "Movie" was not copied to the Iphone "Iphone" because it cannot be played on this iPhone.
I took this MOV on my Iphone originally and it plays OK through Itunes and other media players so am confused as to why this is not working on my iPhone.
I do not have the option in iTunes to "Convert to Ipod/iPhone" or anything like that....
