My N97 mini is used as a mobile phone and as a navigation aid. Thus I do not need the icons on the start screen that uses internet, etc. I would very much like to fill the startscreen with icons like calendar and contacts, etc instead. However it seems like 3 of the areas on the screen where icons can be placed are reserved for internet type icons. Is there a a way to put local icons in these areas?
View 4 RepliesI bought a Lumia 920 in France and after changing all the regional settings to my liking the Local Scout app stopped working. It reported that was not available in my Country/Region.It turns out that even though France is defined as the Country/region, Local scout will only startup if France is also defined as the Browser language setting.I do believe that it is a bug as the prefered language for the browser should not be used to determined the location.

I intend to download the maps on PC then use the maps on the phone in offline mode at all times. My question is:- When carrying out a search in offline mode, is it possible to search for local businesses or service types? E.g. If I'm in London, and wanted to find a hotel, could I just run a search for hotels within the city? Or another example, wanting to search for a local McDonalds? Would I have to know the address, or could I just type in "McDonalds"?

I have deleted it from the applications list and do not see it in the modules list but the icon still shows.I also have icons that have the "Hide" checked but are not really hidden. First off when I take my phone out of lock or wake up it from sleeping the icons are missing till i wipe my finger across the screen.. its weird to explain but its kinda like i have to swipe the whole screen for the icons to be visable the same thing happens when my phone goes to sleep and the keyboard is open.. any ideas?
and another thing is sometimes ill be writting a msg and my phone will make 3 beeping prompting type of noise any idea what this is?
I went to my local Apple Store in Jacksonville, FL. I went to take back my Apple Bumpers, I had 2 of them. They gave me my money back. Me and my wife had purchased 2 cases at Best Buy. I saw a Retail Associate, I said mam, do yall have any cases for the iPhone 4? She said NO, with a tone, we only carry bumpers, with a tone, a bumper is all you need. I purchased my BB 9700 on March 2010 in Panama. I live in Venezuela and contracted with a local provider the services for the BB device. Everything went perfect until four weeks ago when I was transferring photos from my BB to my computer and updated the OS. After that I noticed I was not receiving emails not BB messages. I went to the local provider and they tried to fix the problem without success. After two or three attemps they concluded my BB was not recognized. They said that the "edge" was not in capital letters "EDGE" so that meant that I could not get the internet services. I placed my simcard in my wife's BB 9700 and the word EDGE showed up. I placed my wife's simcard in my BB and the word "edge" showed up. The conclusion was that my BB had the problem. So I ended up with a BB that's working like a standard cell phone. The provider told me that maybe BB or RIM could have mistakenly deleted my BB from their system.

One day I noticed that My Local Profile on the texts was not showing, I filled out the info, although it is also in my contact list and next day again blank. I am not sure if it has to do with sync or not.
Looking to upgrade soon and might have the option of getting a phone with just 850 3g band and wanted to see if there was a way to test coverage locally. My blackjack does both so that doesn't help alone, and if I set it to 850 gsm it loses all signal. That might mean no 850 3g, but wanted to be sure that was the case and if not conclusive what I can do to see signals in the area.
