View 6 RepliesI bought a Lumia 920 in France and after changing all the regional settings to my liking the Local Scout app stopped working. It reported that was not available in my Country/Region.It turns out that even though France is defined as the Country/region, Local scout will only startup if France is also defined as the Browser language setting.I do believe that it is a bug as the prefered language for the browser should not be used to determined the location.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs I said in the post title, the "Local Scout" ("Environs") doesn't work on my phone. The apps can't find any restaurants or shops or else... I have to use Nokia Maps to find shops I want.

I would rater not call obsessively, it would be both bothersome for me and I would be a nuisance to the stores. When are they best times to check with stores and would I have more luck with some over others?

I am only aware of this happening on Chrome browser for Chrome
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy N97 mini is used as a mobile phone and as a navigation aid. Thus I do not need the icons on the start screen that uses internet, etc. I would very much like to fill the startscreen with icons like calendar and contacts, etc instead. However it seems like 3 of the areas on the screen where icons can be placed are reserved for internet type icons. Is there a a way to put local icons in these areas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't own a phone with OVI maps yet, but I'm seriously considering it. I would like some advice before I go ahead. I intend to download the maps on PC then use the maps on the phone in offline mode at all times. My question is:- When carrying out a search in offline mode, is it possible to search for local businesses or service types? E.g. If I'm in London, and wanted to find a hotel, could I just run a search for hotels within the city? Or another example, wanting to search for a local McDonalds? Would I have to know the address, or could I just type in "McDonalds"?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am always impressed with the marketability of LG’s phone. You can tell right away who LG GD580 is targeting at. From its name “Lollipop” to the dynamic and colorful finish to flashy LED icons; LG GD580 is a demonstration of youthful spirit from head to toe. It can be thought as LG’s answer to Samsung’s tasty Croby. Can Lollipop satisfy our appetite for a fantastic phone or is it just some artificial sweetener that looks better than it actually is? The phone is wrapped among a battery, a charger, a data cable, a handsfree, a CD ROM and a user’s guide.
The design of the clamshell phone is class. The rather simplistic cover is embellished with LED lighting. It is slim (13.4mm) and light (103.5g) for a flipphone. The phone can absolutely be a perfect piece of accessory. You have got a 2.8” screen with 240x400 pixel resolution. There is a 1.3MP camera on the inside for you to video-call your buddies. I am always a fan of flipphone not only because the phone screen is more protected, flip phone allows more room for a spacious keyboard. The square buttons you see here is the volume rocker. You have eachHere lies the handsfree/cable portal. I am still bothered with the fact that it has no 3.5mm jack. on either side and you also find the data transfer portal here on the left side. The camera is good one for social occasions. Its wide-screen capability and self-timer is perfect for a party group photo. You have a series of photo-editing tool to fit your creative persona. I am also pleased with the auto sensor that mutes the phone as you reverse it when it rings. You can access the MicroSD and SIM card slot only when you remove the battery cover. That’s the price to pay when you have such slimness.
Like Corby, you have got really cute theme to match the phone’s youthful character. (Perhaps a little too cute for macho men, but I am sure the cheerleader girlfriends would like them!)We first encountered the customizable LED front light in LG’s KF350 Ice Cream. However, that of Lollipop is stronger and better. You can choose different flashing patterns for different situations. The illuminated area is bigger to allow more creative outputs. Other than choosing from the 12 preset icons. You can design your own logos and short motto. I do think it’s interesting. Other than looking glamorous and catchy, LG Lollipop is a practical phone. It has HSDPA connection which is missing from Samsung Corby, Google Package, video calling, Bluetooth 2.0 and FM tuner. If you are young at heart and want a phone to match your uplifting personality. LG Lollipop will not let you down.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHey, folks! See what we got in hand? The successor to the Xperia X1, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 with full of industry leading features- the first Windows phone runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and sports 8MP camera with touch focus, bringing Flash support in Internet Explorer Mobile and Microsoft's app store, larger display, new keyboard and navigational keys design. Let’s show you what to expect from the first Windows phone of Sony Ericsson. In the package, we have the phone, a Battery, a charger, a handsfree, a USB cable, TV-out cable and Manual. Most of the front of X2 is taken by the 3.2” touch screen which is bigger than the previous (X1 got 3” only), and it's a real fingerprint magnet. Here is the one in Silver. The 4-row QWERTY keyboard of X2 features a new overall design, which is distinctive in terms of shape and design compared to X1. Here is the one in Black. We are definitely pleased at the QWERTY keyboard of X2, as it is very responsive. The only thing is that the plastic material doesn't impress at all. On the top of X2, we find the 3.5mm audio jack which also doubles as a TV-out port. And the power key is just along with it- the same position as on the previous X1.
The back of the X2 is made from stainless steel (actually, it seems like plastic) and is quite immune to fingerprints. It hosts the 8.1MP autofocus camera with LED flash, and the lanyard eyelet is just next to it. On the left side of the device, you may find the microSD slot. It is only accessible after the removal of the back cover. The new version of the Internet Explorer Mobile web browser has received a nicer touch-optimized interface and a cooler design. The large optical trackpad on the front panel is providing high level of enjoyment as well when you brows on the web. For sure, Sony Ericsson is always synonymous with portable media players and cameras. 8.1 MP camera with the Multi Menu packing all the available settings to facilitate the user experience. The X2 runs on Win6.5 which upgrades the old-school ver. 6.1 with a brand-new and much prettier homescreen- displays all your applications and links to system functions in a honeycomb grid and consists of a scrollable list, as on the iPhone. And The Xpanel interface is still there with 14 panels preloaded on the smartphone and 16 others available for download, including those for Skype, CNN, and Google. With all interface improvements and 8MP camera onboard, the Sony Ericson X2 is the top and high-end Windows-powered handsets which give a good run for you money.
The newly launched SAMSUNG GALAXY S with the latest Android platform and Super AMOLED Brilliant Full Touch screen is writing a new page of its smartphone legend. Together with its counterpart, Wave S8500, GALAXY S demonstrates SAMSUNG’s cutting-edges technology in a flushed design for a smooth connection performance and a stunning visual experience.
Uncovering the box, we find the Galaxy S phone, a battery, a charger, a handsfree and a user’s guide.
"The 4 inches Super AMOLED brilliant Full Touch screen allows you to zoom in and out with full touch and multi touch. The phone is made of tempered-glass with a smudge-resistant display.
Here comes the application interface. It is so convenient to use the Google Search taskbar on the menu page. Apart from the preloaded applications, there are 50,000 applications available from the Android Market. "
On top of the phone, you can find the standard 3.5mm audio jack and the micro-USB port with a sliding cover.
Carefully crafted with a sleek design, Galaxy S is an ultra slim smartphone with just 9.9mm thick and 118g, which is much lighter than iPhone 3GS (12.3mm and 135g). You can find the power toggle on the right edge.
Removing the battery cover, you can insert your SIM card and memory card. The smartphone has 16GB built-in memory and support up to 32GB microSD external memory which will be more than enough for heavy users. With 1500mAh battery capacity, the phone power will not be easily exhausted.
There is a fixed dock with four shortcuts to Phone, Contacts, Messaging and Home. You can customize the home screen with widgets and shortcuts. Preloaded with Google mobile applications, Galaxy S offers you quick access to Google service such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google maps and Picas by synchronizing your account information with the phone. If you love reading, Aldiko eBook brings you convenient reading experience.
Below the touchscreen, you can find three buttons including two touch sensitive keys—“menu” and “back”, and one physical “home” button. On the top right corner, there is a secondary camera. By using the mini-diary function, you can simply write your diary with attached photos and weather details.
Compared to input systems used in previous models, Galaxy S offers you more options for fast texting. The brand new Swype text input method enhances your typing speed by 1.5 times of standard type speed! Virtual Qwerty keyboard and hand writing recognition are also available.
With the 2.1 update 1 firmware version and ECLAIR build number, Galaxy S is optimizing users’ smartphone experience.
In short, if you are looking for a high-end smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S will be one of your choices with its enhanced super ALMOLED screen and a brand new 1GHz processor. For display performance, Galaxy S is similar to Samsung Wave but it lacks a flash light for photo taking. Its size is similar to HTC HD2 but lighter and thinner than iPhone 3GS. With its 16GB built-in memory, Galaxy S is designed for heavy multimedia users. After all, Samsung is offering the best for Galaxy S.
If you would like to be included in Motorola Feedback Network activities it is important that your information stored in your profile is correct. I just reviewed mine and found that my serial number (IMEI) was only displaying the first 14 characters. I was able to update and save the full 15 so it is good now.

im on iphone 3gs and i need to zoom in to be able read the review, any of u with iPhone 4 can be able to read the review without zooming in? btw please do it in portrait mode.
im asking this because im just curious. my iphone 4 will be delivered next week and the only thing that makes me buy one is because the retina display hype, but im so scared to be dissapointed because if i ever need to zoom in to read small text like in that website like in my 3gs that would be pointless.
My camera will not let me turn on review duration option (or turn on self-timer) for some reason. Probably a simple fix but I can't figure it out. I've tried resetting the camera to default options but to no avail.

The 2.8" touchscreen is very responsive, which requires only a touch rather than a push to register a click. Sony Ericsson always comes out with stylish phone. One of the good examples is the Sony Ericsson T707. Now passing the crown to the dainty Sony Ericsson Jalou, the “facet cut jewel form” is getting in the spotlight. With the attractive outlook in compact size and glossary mirror, it seems to be a tiny treasure for the pretty women. Well, let’s find out more about it.
It comes with standard stuff: a Battery, a Charger, a handsfree and Manual. Jalou is in diamond shape and a lot less tall than most clamshell phones, measuring just 73 x 45 x 18.2mm when closed. You can easily fit it to the pocket of your skinny jeans or jacket pocket. The outer display which located in the middle of the concave upper panel is for notifying you of incoming calls, received message and shows the time and the information about the song that’s being played.
Jalou is very compact even when you flip it open. Sony Ericsson has gone for this unusual size to make the phone as compact as possible to be a pocket-friendly diamond to the lovely ladies. All the number keys are manufactured in the shape of a rhombus but a bit tiny, together with the diamond D-pad. It looks very stylish. The volume rocker is on the right of the phone. That would be a pretty cool thing to have a fashion phone like this. But, you need to forgo the giant touchscreen, better camera. Actually, different people have different needs against the phone. Jalou is for those who seek of user-friendly and fashionable style.
I'm wondering where all the passwords I've put into my RAZR are stored. Is there a list I can review?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I had a chance to start and really flex the stock music app. This application is a huge improvment over the GB one on the DX.I was able to subscribe to a few podcasts like *** with Marc Maron with no problems.I was notified this morning that a new episode had been downloaded to the RAZR.I can not add my own podcast feeds , which means ones that I have paid subscriptions to will have to find a different application (PodTrapper is what I used on my DX).
The application was able to find my music easily and even downloaded the cover art While playing a song the application with scrob to Last.fm if configured. It will also download the Lyrics for the playing song and show them on the screen. The application will show recommended news, songs that are related.I did not have time to try out Motocast yet and I am hoping to get to it this weekend..While playing either a podcast or music you can have the application running in the background to listen and allows quick access via the notifications bar.If the screen is locked you have quick access to pause/play and skip forward/backwards in your playlist.I found this to work very well. One issue that I did find is that if you are listening to a podcast and you use the application to pause ( not from a lock screen ) it will not pause, but will end the episode and then you must restart and try to move to last place it was playing.A few things that could be added to make this perfect.
1. Allow me to add my own podcast subscriptions along with ones that require authentication
2. Fix the pause button for podcasts
3. Allow me to add Google Music and or Amazon Cloud Music as a music source
