The creeps at AT & T despite the tons I've spent over the years tell me my Torch is "not eligible" to be unlocked although my wife's pitiful Blackberry is. They also "can't" read WON'T tell me when it would be eligible. I'd love to use local SIM cards when traveling so my friends can call me on a local number.

I bought iphone 4 in April 2010 from a local shop in Houston TX, it was without any contract for 550$ and a locked one with AT&T sim in it.Then I unlocked it using Gevey sim and using it without any problem till date. Is my iphone eligible for unlock ? Although it was never with AT&T contract but I paid the full amount to buy it.

While backing up my 3g IPhone it said that my "encryted local backup" info needed a password in order to be unlocked.I do not remember ever setting a password for this and so do not know the password.Are my contacts included in my "local back up"?Is ther any way to save 20 years of business contacts and transfer them to my new 3gs IPhone if i am not able to "unlock" them with a password off of my old 3g iPhone?

it was locked to the network Orange here in spain, the seller before giving it to me got it unlocked.but it doesnt not work with any other network except Orange.have tried (Vodafone,Movistar) also another t-mobile sim from germany... all give me the insert sim card(SOS) error. have checked in the options (MEPD)and all the options are disactivated, so looks like its unlocked correctly... and when i use it with a Orange sim(Original carrier) it works perfect.

I just saw the torch at at&t store and I have to get it. The question is I live outside US and I need to get it unlocked.Now, I saw that at at&t store, they are selling the torch for 499 dollars without contract. I am sure this is locked.If I can get this phone (I know I need to get someone with at&t to go with me to buy it), I can unlock it. This is for sure, right?

For some reason my Torch will unlock by itself when placed in my case. The case was for a 9700 Bold and I tried at the ATT store with a pouch 'designed' for the Torch with the same results. The lock/unlock key is so sensitive that even in my pants pocket it will unlock.
All of my old BB's would not unlock until I hit the 2 combo keys which was fine. At least the bold would stay locked in the pouch which was fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just put in my request to unlock my iPhone 4 from AT&T.My contract has expired, and my old phone number is no longer active as of about 2 weeks ago, I also no longer live in the US (I've already travelled abroad), but they said that it would have no problem to unlock my iPhone as it's all done via iTunes. I still have my old AT&T Sim card, but the number is not activate and like I said I'm in another country.
I have heard for the unlock process to be completed you need an activate sim card installed in the phone. Does it matter what carrier's sim I use (can I use a local one?) or does it absolutely have to be an AT&T sim? I'm in Dubai now and have an active prepaid du sim card (they said it can easily be cut to micro-sim).
Contacting AT&T from here is a nightmare (the "international" number they gave me won't dial out and the website won't let me access my old account info since it's closed now and thus can't access their web chat either).

I recently lost my SD card to my blackberry 9810 and am attempting to restore the files onto a new SD card to a computer. I had automatic backups set up from the Blackberry desktop manager and Blackberry protect. I was under the assumption that these backups also backed up information on the SD card. Unfortunatley, when I tried to restore my phone using a blackberry desktop no old files where restored to my new SD card.I have read an old post that says the automatic backups do not backup SD card documents but am unsure if that is still true.Is there anyway I could restore the files using the backups?

View 8 Replies View RelatedLike always, on previous Symbian phones I have locked my memory cards with passwords and if you were to insert that locked card into another Symbian phone, it would immediately ask you to enter the password. I did so with my old phone (Nokia C7) and now after inserting that locked card in the 808, nothing comes up.. it doesn't ask for a password input. I am now stuck with a 16 gigs locked micro SD card to which I know the password but I can't unlock it! I know for sure that password protected cards will not show up on computers and it doesn't show up on my gf's Android either. I have been to a Nokia care shop and they have tried with other Nokia phones but nothing worked. They suggested using the phone it was locked with but that's not a possibility because it was broken into pieces and sent to Finland
