BB Curve :: Your Current SIM Card Requires Unlock Code
Sep 7, 2011
Basically, my phone isn't unlocked. It's on Orange and I've never had a problem with it before. I've had it for about a year now, using the same SIM card and it's all worked fine. My SIM card is Orange too and the same one I've been using since I got it, so I'm not sure why it's popping up with this message, I can't do anything on my phone now because it won't recognise my SIM? I've tried soft resetting, taking the battery out, taking the SIM out..
I was just wondering if I went ahead and bought a blackberry curve 8900 off ebay is there anyway i could just put my current sim card in the bb and use my current plan. I dont want the data charges. By the way I have at&t. What about buying an unlocked 8900? would that help? I want the blackberry without the data plan, and i dont want at&t to just charge me for data.
I bought a new blackberry bold 9700 from u.k but when i insert my sim it requested for network MEP code. Pls what can i do. i have been searching for solution. I am in Nigeria and i intend to use it here .
I was able to Sync my contacts on my new Torch 9800 from MS Outlook but then experienced several "pocket calls" even with the Phone Lock feature ON. So I activated the 4 digit security code feature that requires entry before making any outgoing calls to resolve the "pocket call" issue, but now when I try to synch my contacts it asks for my 4 digit security code. I have 10 attempts to get it right but it doesn't recognize the security code on my PC. I am linking via the USB cable directly to my phone. Anyone know how to resolve this?
Is there a way to connect to a bluetooth device that requires a code to be entered? I am trying to connect to my Microsoft Sync radio so I can stream music. The MA detects the Sync but when I click on it it just says connection fails. The Sync requires that you enter a code so I assume this is the reason for the connection failure.
I was wondering if any would know how I am able to obtain a MEP code to unlock my phone to other providers so that I am able to use my mobile with other networks, as I am working on board a cruise ship and I am wanting to use a local provider instead of paying very high roaming rates especially for Data Services. Would I be able to obtain this code from BlackBerry/RIM or do I have to contact my service provider? I have tried seaching on the net but only comes up with 3rd Party websites, I have seached on my providers website (O2 UK) and also the BlackBerry website.
I got this phone (Blackberry Curve 8310) in India with Vodafone as provider. I have since then moved to the US and came to know that I need to unlock the phone to use it here. When I called Vodafone India customer service, I was told to contact Blackberry directly.
My friend recently got a BB curve 8520, which was locked by a MEP code, so he went and purchased an unlock code and when he entered the code it gave an error that the MEP code has been entered 10 times already. So what should he do?
When I am using the phone in India, I am not able to make landline calls. Every time I make a call it automatically take a prefix of +62 before the number (which is the Jakarta code).
i have forgotten the unlock code for my BB curve 8530. It was freezing up and after hard restart would only go to device locked screen and allow me to switch betwe3en the choices but then would not go to screen i chose. Have downloaded the desktop software and been prompted for the unlock code. Should i have some confirmation code documentation that may have been sent to me, because i cant seem to find any. I bought the phone used and cant remember if i had to have the code to activate it or not this phone now belongs to my teenage daughter and we all know what a teenager w/o a working phone is like to be around!
I have the 8 digit network unlock code for my Atrix2, but when new carrier sim card is inserted it doesn't say sim not provisioned, and doesn't provide text box to enter code.Instead it gives me phone and text service but not mms enternet
how to unlock bb9700? I came across an app here for $10 and by installing it provided a code and thats about it. Just wondering if i do UNLOCK will that affect my current services or anything? i am on Telus (GSM)
How come it now requires a media card to take videos with the Blackberry Tour? It didn't before the update, which I'm really not a fan of because of the changes to SMS messages. Is there a way to change this so the videos save directly on the phone like they used to? Or am I going to need a new way to take videos from now on. I don't really care about the videos I lost, since anything that I wanted from those I email to myself anyway, but I'd like to be able to take new videos.
If there's no direct fix to that is there a way to change back to the old OS before the update? Because, frankly, I don't like this one at all. It added nothing of any value and destroyed the ability for me to take videos and made the text messages screen look insanely dumb.
My phone wouldn't recognise unlock code so it wiped everything and when it rebooted I saw for the first time in 18 months that I needed a media card encryption code which was used to protect files so I presumed was the same as new unlock code but its not and I've lost music and photos and downloaded files?
I've recently moved from Orange to O2 and my iPhone 3GS doesn't recognise the new O2 SIM card. Orange told me that they would send me an unlock code from Apple a month ago. Talked to Orange today and they say I need to get it from O2 but O2 say that's not the case.
I am working with a user who recently switched from a 9550 to a 9700 (verizon to at&t) for coverage reasons.Whenever he unlocks his keyboard (using the lock button on the top left of the device), he must enter his password to access his phone. The security timeout settings on his phone are set to 1 hour, but even if he locks the keyboard for 5 seconds, he still has to enter his password when unlocking it.The only time that the keyboard will lock and unlock without requiring a password is when it is entered/removed from the holster. We are using BES.I cannot replicate this issue with the 9650 or 9550. Unfortunately I don't have a 9700 at my disposal to play with.Is this a normal feature for the 9700?I've checked his encryption settings (disabled). We cannot disable the password function (mandated by BES policy). The issue is not that he has to enter his password, it's that he would prefer that a password not be needed unless the security timeout has expired.
I have a 32gb SD card from my Galaxy S4. The V10 will not read it. Lady at AT&T says Samsung & LG don't recognize same stuff on the card. I don't wanna lose what I have on my SD. How do I get my V10 to read the files? Also I'm waiting on the 200 gig card.
I have an 8GB iPhone 3GS on AT&T, and I wanted to purchase a 16GB version on eBay. Will I be able to just pop the SIM card out of the current iPhone 3GS into the new iPhone 3GS and have it work properly?
I bought a Blackberry Torch a few weeks ago, my carrier is AT&T. I got this phone because I needed a phone that would work in Germany, the United States, and South Korea; I am studying abroad this year and need a phone. My intention was to buy new SIM cards in each country, as this would be cheaper than roaming and more practical than buying disposable phones. AT&T agreed to give me instructions to unlock my phone and an unlock code.Today, I called AT&T, who plugged my IMEI number into their database. However, they could not acquire my unlock code and acknowledged that another person with a Blackberry Torch had the same problem a few hours ago. They reassured me that the Blackberry Torch is unlockable, but had no idea how to help me further. When I tried to call Blackberry, they asked me for a carrier code, which I didn't have and AT&T knew nothing about.
My friend gave me an iphone 3gs but I am with a different network provider. Will apple give me an unlock code directly as I did not purchase the iphone from my network provider?
