Feb 18, 2010I purchased a replacement D-X1 battery for my 8900 Curve yesterday. When I removed it from the box I noticed that instead of a series of English numbers and letters against the Lot Code there were 2 Chinese letters / symbols.Can anyone advise if this means if I have been had and it is not a genuine battery?

Feb 15, 2010i recently unblocked my blackberry 8900 handset to enable the wide range of networks available however when i now put my 02 sim card into the handset it shws the network as o2:uk and also pick up full signal bars but it will not let me call outwards or recieve any calls and it will not let me send or recieve any texts either. i then tried to call 112 (emergency call) and it flashed up again call failed! Phone not allowed MM#5 can you tell me what this means and if there is any solution? by the way im from the uk but i suppose all blackberrys have the same error codes

Aug 13, 2010I have tried to sync my curve 8900 with my outlook (2007) but at the end of the sync I receive a message saying:
Error encountered. Error code - 0x8386006e. Check documentation.
I am trying to sync the Calendar, Memo Pad, Address Book and Tasks.
Can find any info on this online!
So I changed my memory card to a 4GB card but problem has not been rectified.
When I remove the tasks from the sync I do not get the error but my tasks are not synchronised.

Jan 30, 2011I was wondering if any would know how I am able to obtain a MEP code to unlock my phone to other providers so that I am able to use my mobile with other networks, as I am working on board a cruise ship and I am wanting to use a local provider instead of paying very high roaming rates especially for Data Services. Would I be able to obtain this code from BlackBerry/RIM or do I have to contact my service provider? I have tried seaching on the net but only comes up with 3rd Party websites, I have seached on my providers website (O2 UK) and also the BlackBerry website.

Feb 21, 2010I am new to this forum and new to blackberry in general. I actually purchased my very first one saturday. I bought it used because I have big hands and did not know how well my fingers would work on the tiny keypad. I have a few questions. Please dont flame me because I have been searching and reading since i got home yesterday afternoon.
1.) This phone is a t-mobile phone and is currently unlocked and works with my AT&T service. Being the engineer that I am- Its hard for me to accept the t-mobile screen that comes up on start-up. Before I call and get my blackberry plan activated on my phone I would like to have all the bugs worked out. I would like to somehow make this phone think its an AT&T phone. I have downloaded crackmem and nuked this phone. I upgraded to the lastest version of AT&T software which is version 4.6, but when i power this phone up it still shows T-mobile. That drives me crazy.
2.) I read how to unlock the different vendor themes on this forum. I tried it and it did not work for me. I entered the vendor id number for AT&T. maybe I should have entered it for t-mobile. Like i said I am new and know dont know very much about these phones.
3.) I also have the OS system 5.0.411 downloaded and ready to install on my phone. I would like to figure out how to resolve the above items before I install in on my phone. I chose the 5.0.411 over the latest software because i like the unlock button on the top of the phone working. Its just convienent for me.
My main concern is I was the t-mobile start up replaced with the AT&T one. I know it can be done but I am a mechanical engineer not a software engineer and it was hard enough to write enough code to get through college, much less reprogram a phone.

Feb 17, 2010I dropped my phone not too long ago, and ever since the lock/unlock key on the top is very fussy and only works if pressed a certain way. I tried changing the lock button to the convenience key, and it works fine, except that there isn't an option to set it as the unlock key. Is there a way or program to set a key to unlock the phone? Or am I stuck using the dedicated lock button?

It was freezing up and after hard restart would only go to device locked screen and allow me to switch betwe3en the choices but then would not go to screen i chose.
