Just wanted to ask as i found a bb 8900 lying on the road the other day....it is locked on a contract....is it possible to unlock the phone ....?and also will i need internet to use the mobile?

I have had my phone on silent because of the meetings I've been in, but when I've been searching my phone for the problem, I notice that all of my ringtones are locked? What's going on? How do I fix this? I need to be able to hear my phone and use my alarm.

since I've upated my BB 8900 to 5.0.0.592 (official release of my provider), the alarm clock is not ringing when the phone is locked.
When it's unlocked there is no problem and the alarm is sounding.
But when it's locked it does only display an information about the alarm on the screen, but no sound :smileysad: How can I fix that? I'dont want to get too late too often!
Just wondering if you call ATT and ask to unlock the iPhone will they provide means to unlock it after your contract is up? With normal phones it seems they will unlock if you are past your contract. I don't see why iPhone should be any different because you have fulfilled the contract. Never heard of this happening so thought I would ask.

However, the phone is still tied to that carrier. I have read that AT&T will start unlocking out of contract phones. I have been to the website but understand that I require a prior contract with AT&T. Since I have never held an AT&T contract, is there a way that Apple can help me factory unlock my phone? I also read how Tim Cook's office helped some users get their unlock.

I purchased a bb curve 8520 a week ago and suddenly the keys became locked. I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in but that didn't' work. The phone comes on for a few second then goes off.

The screen is only on when I put the phone in the charger, but my problem is also that the unlock key at the top is locked, so even when there are lights and energy in the phone I can't unlock it, and therefore I can't use it at all. I've tried pulling the battery out and in again about 3 times. I've tried taking both the battery and the sim card out. I've tried connecting my phone to the computer, which it can, but it didn't help me since the phone is still locked. I've tried resetting it by pressing ALT + CAP + Del. but that doesn't work either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to this forum and new to blackberry in general. I actually purchased my very first one saturday. I bought it used because I have big hands and did not know how well my fingers would work on the tiny keypad. I have a few questions. Please dont flame me because I have been searching and reading since i got home yesterday afternoon.
1.) This phone is a t-mobile phone and is currently unlocked and works with my AT&T service. Being the engineer that I am- Its hard for me to accept the t-mobile screen that comes up on start-up. Before I call and get my blackberry plan activated on my phone I would like to have all the bugs worked out. I would like to somehow make this phone think its an AT&T phone. I have downloaded crackmem and nuked this phone. I upgraded to the lastest version of AT&T software which is version 4.6, but when i power this phone up it still shows T-mobile. That drives me crazy.
2.) I read how to unlock the different vendor themes on this forum. I tried it and it did not work for me. I entered the vendor id number for AT&T. maybe I should have entered it for t-mobile. Like i said I am new and know dont know very much about these phones.
3.) I also have the OS system 5.0.411 downloaded and ready to install on my phone. I would like to figure out how to resolve the above items before I install in on my phone. I chose the 5.0.411 over the latest software because i like the unlock button on the top of the phone working. Its just convienent for me.
My main concern is I was the t-mobile start up replaced with the AT&T one. I know it can be done but I am a mechanical engineer not a software engineer and it was hard enough to write enough code to get through college, much less reprogram a phone.
I have a phone from my company that I no longer use. Seems like the enterprise server hijacked the phone. How can I get it to where it was before? Or unlock it.

I tried changing the lock button to the convenience key, and it works fine, except that there isn't an option to set it as the unlock key. Is there a way or program to set a key to unlock the phone? Or am I stuck using the dedicated lock button?

I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone.
