BlackBerry :: Upgrade 8800 To 4.5?
Sep 7, 2011I have an oldish 8800 unlocked, that was a used in Australia (Telstra). I have bought with me to Malawi, and put in an Airtel SIM and subscribed to BB here. Current device s/w is 4.2, and I am trying to upgrade to 4.5, however via the Web (BB site) I get "no updates available". Using a freshly downloaded BB Desktop Software, it tells me a 4.5 Bundle is available, but just after initiating, I get "There was an error updating your software. Please try again".

Jun 8, 2010I bought a real 8800 original a while back and decided to upgrade. I got online the 8800 carbon arte, but when I got it in I realized it is a fake (a nice fake, but a fake).Now I'm not sure if I should keep it and sell my old 8800, or send back the 8800 carbon fake? I cant afford a new carbon as they are well over 1grand.
features on the fake seem to be all except no pc suite option (USB gives me com port, mass storage, webcam) and no touch option. Im also assuming that the screen isnt durable.Other than that, the firmware seems to be the same (from what I gathered online)What would you do? Keep the original 8800, or use the newer 8800 carbon fake?

Aug 11, 2011I recently purchased a refurbished Blackberry Bold 9700 from ebay, when I go the app word im asked for a username and password, I entered the same account details which i set up on teh Blackberry website, but they were not accepted. I noticed there is a small padalock symbol on the top right of the login screen.For two days I have tried to contact the seller, but have got no responce, I was thinking If i entered their email address into the "forgot password" option they could change the password, then provide me with that and their email address so I could then change both. But as I mentioned he or she is not responding to my emails.

May 13, 2012I was trying to unlock my iphone4 Baseband 04.12.01 with SAM but I didn't realise it was detected by Apple. SAM didnt work and now my phone is locked, asking for a compatible Sim card (may be it means AT&T but not sure) which I dont have. I only have T-mobile sim. My iphone 4 iOS 5.1 is already jailbroken and I want to unlock it but most important thing is I need to use it now..because I only have one handset. Mar 17, 2011I have recently put a password for my blackberry so when it's locked you have to put a password to unlock it, however I also have a curve slider and to unlock that you also need a password but when I enter my password for the curve slider it freezes and now I cannot do anything, if I press the menu button it goes to the menu but when I click on something it goes back to the curve slider password.

The screen is only on when I put the phone in the charger, but my problem is also that the unlock key at the top is locked, so even when there are lights and energy in the phone I can't unlock it, and therefore I can't use it at all. I've tried pulling the battery out and in again about 3 times. I've tried taking both the battery and the sim card out. I've tried connecting my phone to the computer, which it can, but it didn't help me since the phone is still locked. I've tried resetting it by pressing ALT + CAP + Del. but that doesn't work either.

Jun 3, 2011My BB has been working fine. It's set to ask for a password if its been untouched for 10 mins and I've never had a problem with that. I do sometimes lock the keyboard by pushing the button top left, but again that's never been a problem. Right now the screen is blank. If I push the ball or any keys, nothing happens. If I plug in a charger the clock comes up, but still nothing works. If I remove the charger I then briefly see the screen and if I'm lucky pushing the ball brings up the "device is locked" screen with options saying unlock, emergency or cancel - but it stubbornly refuses to respond to pressing anything else, goes dim and then goes blank again. The battery has lots of power (it wasn't flat but has been charging anyway) and I've tried removing both the battery and sim card several times - all without success.

I soft reset it both times and now it flashes the Apple icon followed by spining beach ball and that starts over indeffinately. This was after deleting apps becasue it said I had low memory. Before I had 600mb and then I had 2 GB after deleting a bunch of apps. When I plug it into itunes it says it cannot access becasue it is locked with a passcode, but it still shows the beach ball.

Sep 21, 2010I was using c510 for past 6 months. My network provider is vodafone. Recently I changed to postpaid connection from prepaid keeping the same number for that I got a new SIM. When I inserted the new SIM on switch on itself it is asking for phone lock code.I haven't kept any lock code for my phone till now. And when I searched in the net for the default code i got it as '0000'. But when I enter that it says wrong code.
Then I inserted my old SIM for that it is working but its inactive since I got new one. I checked the phone security settings under settings->general->security->Locks->phone protection->Protection so as to turn off that feature.It was shown 'Automatic' neither On or Off. And when I tried to change that to off its again asking for the lock code. And I am not able to use my phone now.
