Ma sister gave me her old 8800 she has stopped using for a long time! I inserted the battery and its asking for new password! I tried every password i can think of but it never accepts! it only says the password should at least have one letter,a digit and a special character.
I have an oldish 8800 unlocked, that was a used in Australia (Telstra). I have bought with me to Malawi, and put in an Airtel SIM and subscribed to BB here. Current device s/w is 4.2, and I am trying to upgrade to 4.5, however via the Web (BB site) I get "no updates available". Using a freshly downloaded BB Desktop Software, it tells me a 4.5 Bundle is available, but just after initiating, I get "There was an error updating your software. Please try again".
I have purchased one unlocked Blackberry 8800 from Amazon.com, I am trying to use this phone in India with one GSM mobile services provider, but every time I insert the SIM card I am getting - Insert SIM card error message. making my phone work.
I have a device that was previously for my corp/enterprise environment...they upgrades us and let us keep the old devices. I'm trying to wipe the IT policy (it's a bank, they lock BBs down with manacles and three-headed dogs) so my daughter can use it, but it keeps failing when I use BB Desktop's "Reset to Factory Settings" option:An Error Occurred While Resetting to Factory Settings"
I just got a used 8800 (Cingular) ver 4.5. The phone was wiped and I was able to set my own password. But I'd rather not have it lock at all.The help file indicated that PASSWORD could be disabled, but that does not work for me. I'm looking at Options > Security Options > General Setting. There's a password ENABLED field, but I can't change it, there is a little teeny tiny red lock icon next to the field.
I changed the security timeout to 30, and that helps.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the password lock?
I bought a real 8800 original a while back and decided to upgrade. I got online the 8800 carbon arte, but when I got it in I realized it is a fake (a nice fake, but a fake). Now I'm not sure if I should keep it and sell my old 8800, or send back the 8800 carbon fake? I cant afford a new carbon as they are well over 1grand. features on the fake seem to be all except no pc suite option (USB gives me com port, mass storage, webcam) and no touch option. Im also assuming that the screen isnt durable.Other than that, the firmware seems to be the same (from what I gathered online)What would you do? Keep the original 8800, or use the newer 8800 carbon fake?
After two years of no problems, suddenly my PK is not accepting my access password. In fact it displays the actual characters rather than " * " .I have 3 tries left. I have read several threads and have learned that after 10 attempts - everything in PK is erased. This is not a matter of a forgotten password, but something else.
! I am having a problem with the password on my Porsche blackberry. It asks me to enter my password which I do and is accepted but then I get the message "enter 'blackberry' to continue". I type in "blackberry" and this is accepted but then it asks me to enter my password again which is not accepted (the password is correct). Does anyone know why I have to type in the word "blackberry" and why my password is not accepted the second time.
I cannot remember my BB ID password. My BB ID username was set up as an "@carrier.blackberry.net". So when I go to the forgot password link, it emails the password to the above email, which cannot be accessed from a computer, as is a Blackberry email.
My Wife is en route to South Africa and has inserted her South African SIM card into her Blackberry phone. The phone is asking for a username and password or all information will be lost. Is anyone able to assist, as I would have thought, it would have just required the SIM card pin number to be entered and then the Blackberry service to be activated on that SIM.We are based in India and the Indian SIM has never required a SIM code. The phone is not network blocked, so now at a loss, as my wife will not be ale to communicate.
I have the blackberry bold 9000 and my BB Protect has asked me to verify my account after I put in a new sim card. I have put in the correct password but it keeps saying its wrong and I have one attempt left. This has happened to me before and on the 8th attempt, it finally accepted my password. I have tried the "forget password" option but after I've filled the security question and new password, it either freezes and doesn't go to the next page or it says "bad request".
I was locked out of my account while trying to reset my password. I clicked the "forgot password" link, entered my secret question correctly.I followed the link to reset my password that was emailed to me.I then got a generic error saying there was a problem processing your request after trying to give it a new password. It didn't say that my new password was too short, or the confirmation didn't match or that my secret question was wrong. All it gave me was an error.
I have some problem here, and one of it is the key stores password. Is there any way to reset the key stores password? I have no idea what's my key store password, and I never set it as I remember.. It's not the same as the normal password as I tried it 9 times, which means I'm on the last attempt here. Will I able to set a new key stores password once I wipe my blackberry?
Recently I got to move my server to a new hoster, hence any email service connected to a BB device need to re-validate the service. One of the BB device got stuck and can't add/validate the email back.It kept on saying "wrong password, etc..." which is NOT!I've tried pulling the battery off, deleting the email account (and I can't add the **bleep** account back now!?
I'm locked out of my Blackberry again because it appears to be malfunctioning. When I type the password, it shows what I'm typing, instead of masking it with asterisks, and reverts to the alphabet unless I press Alt+ the key. Even when I carefully enter the correct password, it always says it's wrong. I have 2 or 3 tries left. Last time this happened a few months ago, it ended up wiping everything. I would like to avoid losing some valuable audio files that are stored only on the phone.
how do I change the password on my blackberry ID sign-in? It keeps telling me to go to the secret question but no matter what combination I use it keeps locking me out. i cant get email bbm downloads etc
My daughter presented me with a bb 9860 which her company allowed her to retain the phone. I switched my bb with this bb. The only problem I have is removing the password option. Does anyone know how to remove the password option?
getting on a blackberry curve 9300 , I got this phone from another person and it ask for a password and is locked and no one remembers the password. so I tried 3 times and scared to try anymore afraid it may be wrong.I have tried 1234 and 0000 nothing says it is wrong. It is an att . phone and I am with att and have att sim card that is prepaid. now how or what can I do for this password is there a free method in finding out what to do. I am new to this and sorta lost. but it will not let me go to options without first entering a password..
I have recently put a password for my blackberry so when it's locked you have to put a password to unlock it, however I also have a curve slider and to unlock that you also need a password but when I enter my password for the curve slider it freezes and now I cannot do anything, if I press the menu button it goes to the menu but when I click on something it goes back to the curve slider password.
I have a "verify blackberry id password" message on my bold 9900, unfortunately, I can't remember my password.I clicked on "forgot password" and it apparently sent a new one to the user email which is no longer valid, therefore I can't access it.
"enterprise support" at Orange and they havent got a clue what they are talking about.Basically i am trying to sort out users access to inhouse web apps. When the user navigates to the site they are prompted for AD authentication (which is good) they have an option to "remember username", this works fine they enter their username & password and in they go, lovely. However I go back to the site and it allows me straight through, obviously the credentials are being stored, the question is where!?he orange support guys said cookies, now if domain credentials were being stored in cookies (plain text i assume) i would be very scared, i think RIM are more secure than that. Anyway i cleared my browser data and it still lets me straight through so i know its not in cookies. I have looked everywhere my limited knowledge will allow me and i still cannot find anywhere they could be, googled it and drew alot of blanks, i even tried in password keeper and TLS but still nothing.
i asked orange to escalte to RIM themselves as they werent much help and they said they would charge so i told them to naff off. They also told me they couldnt help as they dont support 3rd party apps, i said that the blackberry browser is not 3rd party but i dont think they understood.
I can sign in via my computer using my blackberry id username and password but cannot sign in with the same username and password through my blackberry bold 9900. All i get is " unable to log in to blackberry account".. I have requested a reset but not getting anything back from Blackberry.
I recently had water damage to my BB Curve 9300 phone, stupidly I had not relaised but transfered all my contacts from SIM to phone Of course all this info got wiped when the phone was repaired. But i had registred with Blackberry ID and got a few apps one of which was BB Protect, backing up all my contacts etc. However now when I go to enter my email and password for BB ID it does not recognise me, I have tried 'forgot password' and the same happens, it does not recognise my email or any other emails I use. I have spoken to O2 and they say they can see I registered with BB and state if I had apps must have registered an email address. I am going mad because they must have an address and password for me as they allowed me to get other free apps, therefore my info must be on their system. I don't want to re-register as BB Protect will not recognise the new name or will it? Does it take other info when you register, like the PIN or IMEI?
