View 5 Replies View RelatedI was locked out of my account while trying to reset my password. I clicked the "forgot password" link, entered my secret question correctly.I followed the link to reset my password that was emailed to me.I then got a generic error saying there was a problem processing your request after trying to give it a new password. It didn't say that my new password was too short, or the confirmation didn't match or that my secret question was wrong. All it gave me was an error.

I have no idea what's my key store password, and I never set it as I remember.. It's not the same as the normal password as I tried it 9 times, which means I'm on the last attempt here. Will I able to set a new key stores password once I wipe my blackberry?

View 1 Replies View RelatedReturned home to restore my phone from previous backup made a day earlier and all of a sudden a password encryption was needed to access my last saved back up. Has anyone been able to negate this requirement affectively? And if so with a Mac? I am really really frustrated as I need my text messages out of my last backup as evidence in a custody battle with my ex wife.

I googled and learned how to work with adb & fastboot on my Mac. So I rooted the phone and installed Cyanogenmod 12. The phone is operational again.A tremendous noob here. And most likely a certifiable *****, but my mom hasn't had me tested yet.Never rooted a phone in my life or even accessed a recovery console before. Was playing with options to encrypt my Stock M7 with Lollipop (carrier OTA version), fully aware of the risk of a factory reset should it fail. Was okay with it. Except the factory reset doesn't work. So I'm no longer okay with it, as the phone is bricked.Boots into recovery console that reports error in mounting /data:
E:missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg (Code -1)
E:missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_yes (Code -1)
E:missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_no (Code -1)
E:missing bitmap icon_ruu (Code -1)
Backup necessary files in data partition
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument).. try emmc mount
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe failed.
Running data wipe manually from the menu (option "wipe data/factory reset") seems to be successful:
-- Wiping data...
Backup necessary files in data partition
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument).. try emmc mount
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
Wiping cache partition manually (option "wipe cache partition") is also successful:
-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete.
The bootloader menus offer no clues as to how to proceed, I can initiate factory reset from there, but it results at the same boot procedure as outlined above.
after having to do a total wipe, my media card has now been encrypted. It only seems to affect music and other media file storage, that sort of thing.so whenever I try to sync anything, I cant access it, and I get this message."A media card has been inserted that contains encrypted files. Please enter the device password that was used to protect these files: "The problem is; the password I was using before it was wiped must've been, well, wiped...it doesn't recognize any password I used previously as valid...

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to decrypt a file that was encrypted by Gingerbread's new security feature?? I performed a factory reset this morning after I was experiencing the dreaded battery drain last night. I have my work corporate e-mail account on my phone and since the Gingerbread update the administrator options required my memory card to be encrypted . Well, I just Googled how to perform a hard reset and did the manual factory data reset without getting the prompts about not being able to access encrypted files any longer once the reset is complete.
I now have about 100 camera pictures that were saved on my SD card that I can no longer view since the factory reset. I had some pics from several trips that I forgot to transfer to my computer. Is there anyway I can decrypt these files on my SD card now that I've done the reset. I don't mind going through a lot of hoops to do this or purchasing a program...I really need those pics!
I am new to Android having just bought an S5, previously I had a Nokia Lumia. I wanted to set up some form of encryption for obvious reasons, and I am sure I just had to set up a password - now I have realised that there are other methods such as the pattern or pin, which I would prefer, but it will not let me click to change to any of the other options.

We were doing some testing with Exchange and Active Sync for a project at work. Unfortunately the default "ActiveSync" profile had "require encryption" checked and when I set up a test Exchange mailbox on my phone this setting got applied. We have since decided that in this instance we don't need to require encryption so I created a new Exchange policy. I removed the Exchange mailbox from my phone and then re-added the account with the new policy applied. However, I am getting messages that encryption is required. I looked at my phone and discovered that the "storage encryption" setting on my phone is still checked and greyed out even after I removed the Exchange mailbox from my phone and rebooted it.

View 1 Replies View Related! I am having a problem with the password on my Porsche blackberry. It asks me to enter my password which I do and is accepted but then I get the message "enter 'blackberry' to continue". I type in "blackberry" and this is accepted but then it asks me to enter my password again which is not accepted (the password is correct). Does anyone know why I have to type in the word "blackberry" and why my password is not accepted the second time.
