Looking to upgrade soon and might have the option of getting a phone with just 850 3g band and wanted to see if there was a way to test coverage locally. My blackjack does both so that doesn't help alone, and if I set it to 850 gsm it loses all signal. That might mean no 850 3g, but wanted to be sure that was the case and if not conclusive what I can do to see signals in the area.

Does anyone know if a version of the Galaxy S is going to be released with the AT&T 3g bands? I've heard AT&T is supposed to be receiving the Captivate, however, I have no interest in picking up a branded (and most likely crippled) phone. I wanted to purchase an unbranded and unlocked Galaxy S that supports AT&T 3g, but I search Google and the forums here and found no information about where to purchase one, or if one even exists. It shows on gsmarena.com that there is supposed to be a version of the Galaxy S with AT&T bands but I wanted to know if anyone has any information on where to purchase one or if one is actually going to be released and when.

Im thinking of upgrading, the two phones that im thinking of is the Propel Pro and the Jack. Any users that have recentyl upgraded from the Blackjack II to either of these models? is it worth the upgrade? I dont think i would use wifi that much. I have a pretty good data plan, and I dont use it to much for other than browsing on opera mini. i know the new phones can be run on WM 6.5 when it comes out, but i herd there are roms availible for the BJ II.

I have flashed my Cingular 3125 extensively but it is getting too old and back won't stay on. I have modified all I can on Blackjack II (sgh-i617) w/o flash. It's on Win Mob 6.1, I want to change the start-up pic and sound, I know this is a bit of an older issue but can anyone gimme a link or advice on how to progress? View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a BB Torch 9860 in USA, and I live in Argentina, and as I couldn't get 3G on it I was searching and I foun out that I got a wrong 3G bands units. mine is model RDQ71UW with bands 1-4-8, and local mobile provider here, Claro, explained to me that I need the bands 1-2-5-6, that I understand is on model RDP71UW.I also understand that it is not something that could gets re-configured.So I should buy a correct unit and try to sell this one, is that right?Is not possible to get this model in Argentina because we have many limitations to importations. at the States do they sell/use boht models? so, in that case I could get the correct one there, and also offer mine there, correct?What countries or regions uses each of those models?

Q1: Is the band availability able to be changed via software or hardware?
Q2: If it is hardware is there any issue with swapping the chip set PCB from old phone to new? (Have seen the dismantling stuff on the net)

My N97 mini is used as a mobile phone and as a navigation aid. Thus I do not need the icons on the start screen that uses internet, etc. I would very much like to fill the startscreen with icons like calendar and contacts, etc instead. However it seems like 3 of the areas on the screen where icons can be placed are reserved for internet type icons. Is there a a way to put local icons in these areas?

It reported that was not available in my Country/Region.It turns out that even though France is defined as the Country/region, Local scout will only startup if France is also defined as the Browser language setting.I do believe that it is a bug as the prefered language for the browser should not be used to determined the location.
