Jan 6, 2010Im trying to install winmobile 6.1 on my phone and I have downloaded the Vista-Winmobile6.1 Fido Package but when I try to input the ID and KEY it gives me an error. The key and Id that i got was the one on the guide. Does anyone have the ID and KEY? Does WinMobile6.1 work on my phone? This is not my phone but my GF's and im trying to help her out. She already went to fido rep and told her to d/l the update but other than that no key or id was given.

Jan 10, 2010I used a Blackjack with WM5 and loved it, now im using a Blackjack II with 6.1. Im thinking of upgrading, the two phones that im thinking of is the Propel Pro and the Jack. Any users that have recentyl upgraded from the Blackjack II to either of these models? is it worth the upgrade? I dont think i would use wifi that much. I have a pretty good data plan, and I dont use it to much for other than browsing on opera mini. i know the new phones can be run on WM 6.5 when it comes out, but i herd there are roms availible for the BJ II.

Jan 4, 2010Looking to upgrade soon and might have the option of getting a phone with just 850 3g band and wanted to see if there was a way to test coverage locally. My blackjack does both so that doesn't help alone, and if I set it to 850 gsm it loses all signal. That might mean no 850 3g, but wanted to be sure that was the case and if not conclusive what I can do to see signals in the area.

Samsung :: Carrier Locked Phone For Non-payment?
Jul 26, 2010I am attempting to help a friend and also satisfy my curiosity. She has a Samsung "Rant" through carrier Sprint. She said that after her phone was turned off for non-payment, she can no longer use the phone. She claims she has been remotely locked out, as if you set a security lock code and forgot it, that kind of locked out. She swears the company locked her out to keep her from getting at her contacts. Is this even possible? I googled and the only thing I can find is blacklisting lock outs using the ESN, which I already realize. But to actually lock the hardware remotely, is another thing. I know they can remotely unlock. What is her best option to recover those important numbers, and do all carriers actively do this sort of thing (if it's even true?)

Checked encryption of binary, unpacked binary, changed the picture of computer/phone to grey panel and started downloading to phone. Phone shows gren robot and "Downloading... Do not turn off target". It downloaded 11% and stopped.That was at 1540. It is now 1710 and it still shows 11%?
