There is no current / up-to-date user guide available for 3.03 at Ovi Maps website. The support section refers to outdated versions, e.g. suggesting to buy licenses, etc. There is also no walktrough for the new interface or its features. When will Nokia release updated support information for 3.03? Or is this information also confidential?Helsinki, N97 White gone to recycling, now trying N97Mini.
View 3 RepliesJust recently purchased a E71 phone and have downloaded the Ovi maps and for some reason I can not find anywhere on the net basic user instructions or a manual of any kind to show how to use the thing. All I want to know is exactly which screen I enter an address in to find my way there traveling by car. I assume this is what the Ovi maps are for however I am having a lot of difficulty getting it to work.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSoftware update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!
Ovi maps app. is not connecting with net. Unable to download voice guidance language,my city map is not loading,not being able to search the destination. Whenever i start the maps app. it shows unable to connect with internet. Whenever i search a destination it shows "searching offline". Am using Nokia c5-03 and It shows as the latest update.

I have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.

When starting Maps the load screen with progress bar appears, then I can see an "empty" map. No keys work. 1. I don't see any satellite (photo) maps when selecting the satellite mode in the display options; instead, the map is just filled with a pattern of alternating dark green and light green linear areas. How do I enable real satellite data, as shown in the attached picture?
2. The update speed of the map when navigating on foot or by car seems very slow. Is there some way to increase / improve this?
3. The phone doesn't seem to recognize really well if I hold it vertically or horizontally. Can I improve that behavior, or switch between manually?
About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?

If i try to upgrade it with the old Nokia map updater it just says: Cannot get enough information about the phone unspecified error. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? Are they supposed to be both there? Shouldn't the Nokia Maps application have been overwritten when updated to Ovi Maps? Can I manually remove the Nokia Maps application to free these 9MB of C: memory?
After opening Ovi Maps, and going to any function. The software/program, shuts itself down before I can proceed to 'my position', 'drive', or even 'walk'. I cannot even seacrh or go to settings.
