Ovi maps app. is not connecting with net. Unable to download voice guidance language,my city map is not loading,not being able to search the destination. Whenever i start the maps app. it shows unable to connect with internet. Whenever i search a destination it shows "searching offline". Am using Nokia c5-03 and It shows as the latest update.

I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.
Is there a way I can download the maps as a zip file or something from my pc and then later install them on my phone? If yes..where can I find the downlaod links? I am using an E7-00 with Symbain Anna update (round icons..cool!!)
I have nokia E72, I downloaded a map using Nokia Suite while my phone was connected to the computer, installed the map but when I go to the Maps option in the phone, I don't know where to find that installed map and how to navigate it?

It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Is it only N9 problem or are getting maps updated soon?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use my Nokia without the data connection but the Ovi Maps can't find any address even I downloaded the local map. The GPS works well but looks like that the navigation application can't read the map unless I search that place manually. If I don't, it just tells me "no results in offline mode". What is wrong? Now it´s just an electronic map, not a real navigator. I´m using the Ovi Maps 3.04 and the phone is 6730 Classic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThank you Nokia for making maps free. We really love you for that. But I've already found the first serious bug. Even if you have downloaded maps to the phone (N97 mini), you can't search for addresse and places in offline mode. The old version could that.If you browse with your finger and browse through places, you will find everthing, but when searching freetext for places and addresses in offline mode, no result are shown.Guess Nokia will have to fix this soon.The workaround is of course to use online mode.
View 19 Replies View Relatedi'm from italy and i've just installed on my nokia 5800 the new ovi maps suite (after having updated the phone firmware, now i have 40.0.005).I've already unchecked the assisted-gps option in "positioning".When i use Maps, the phone finds the signal and track my location perfectly; after having set a destination it starts giving me directions (correct) but, after a few seconds, asks me to go to the shop. Since i don't want to go online (my data plan is awful) i select "no" and the planification disappears, returning on the interactive map.
I'd like to know what to to, if there's a method to use offline navigation without additional roaming cost.
I just downloaded OviMaps 3.03 and tried to use the navigation. After a few seconds it asks me to allow for access to the online shop. As I'm living in Belgium (where data plans suck and are far too expensive), I declined, then it stopped the navigation (going back to the map with no more guidance). How to get the navigation functionality without data plan?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSoftware update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!
I have updated by n8 with Anna and Maps 3.08, 11wk41 b02, map version 0.2.43.117. It works fine except when driving to a destination on a freeway / motorway. The roadway is a gray color that blends into the background and even though it zooms in at interchanges it is small. Thus, at 70 MPH you cannot clearly see where to turn without staring at the scene, very dangerous. This makes it unusable and unsafe for freeway driving and it must be changed. Can I go back to the old version, or do I just start using my Tom Tom GPS and dump the phone.

When I try to check in now, the phone appears to be trying to update the places, but then comes up with the error message "There are currently network problems. Please try again later."I have tried removing my Nokia account, rebooting the phone and reinstalling it. This made no difference.I have also tried deleting the "Cities" folder and then reinstalling the maps via Nokia Suite. Again this has made no difference.

I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode.This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
I have installed the map of Belgium via the Ovi software on my PC (using bluetooth) on my 5230. I can enter an address to navigate too, but after a few seconds, my phone asks to go online to 'enter the store' or something like that. After I press 'no', the phone seems to loose the fact that it was navigating and I just see my current location, but the navigation instructions are gone. If I re-enter the address I want to go to, I get the same problem again. Can I set some setting that would avoid the question of 'entering the store' or is this some kind of bug?

View 7 Replies View RelatedCan anyone please shed some light on why Ovi Maps V2.0 was happy to operate offline on my E71 and show you all mapping detail when the newer version (3.03) does not. Everytime I open the app (in offline mode) there is no mapping displayed, only when I go onlie (which it will only allow when using my network operator (Orange) connectivity not my wifi, help here too would be appreciated) does it download any maps. So far its used 3.2mb of my monthly allowance and for liitle more than 10km of detailed mapping. Is 3.03 dependant on being online to have mapping data so you can scroll across map areas and zoom in to close detail or can this be in offline mode too? So far seems this 3.03 is a very inferior product when not wanting to be online all the time.

I am having a problem with my new Nokia 5230. The offline search does not work in OVI Maps. I installed the newest version 3.03 and uploaded the maps of my country (the Netherlands) to the phone. I am able to pick a direction while using the map itself but when i enter an address in the search bar it give the error: no offline results found.Maps is in offline modus because of my subscription without internet.tried entering just the streetname, streetname and city, streetname city and country, different streets.
