I have the new nokia belle and the stable version of nokia maps 3.08 with full maps of Europe in microSD in order to use the gps in offline mode.The problem is when i go to options to avoid highways and toll roads, when planning a route for example from a city of Portugal to Amsterdam he gives me the following message: Route not found.
View 8 RepliesI am trying to use my Nokia without the data connection but the Ovi Maps can't find any address even I downloaded the local map. The GPS works well but looks like that the navigation application can't read the map unless I search that place manually. If I don't, it just tells me "no results in offline mode". What is wrong? Now it´s just an electronic map, not a real navigator. I´m using the Ovi Maps 3.04 and the phone is 6730 Classic.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Nokia 5800 and downloaded the latest version of Ovi Maps. I'd rather use this in offline mode, and it works well about 60% of the time. But quite often I get the error "route not found" when I try and set a route. The only way round this is to go online, and then a route can always be found.Having looked on the web I see a lot of people are having this problem but I haven't found a definitve fix yet. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling but the problem persists.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've installed ver 3.03 and maps to my memory card. I've discoverd that if I'm offline I can only drive to a location within about 1 mile. Above that I get a "route not found". I dont get this problem selecting walk. If I configure the application to be on-line then I can create a drive of any length.I've tried removing the application and maps and then reinstalling but get the same problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have updated my Nokia N8 to Symbian Belle, and with it came Nokia Maps v3.08. But a feature that I regularly use is missing, to plan a route with specific waymarks or stopovers, ie to go from A to B via C (or in my case usually to go from A to F via B, C, D and E). I even had several routes saved in my favourites in the Routes folder but after the update the folder and contents have been deleted.
Will this feature be restored in a future update? And in the meantime can I uninstall v3.08 and install an earlier version that included the "Add to route" feature?
I just received the latest update and was very disappointed to see there is still no way to set the navigation for shortest or fastest route. This seems like a very basic function for a nav program. Is this going to be added in some future update?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI planed a route on the Nokia Maps site with a couple of waypoints and some options (no toll roads, no motorways) to get it the way I wanted.
Then I did the synchronization of favorites on the phone and the route was there. But when I tried to open the route on the phone the "Calculating route" message appears and the route that shows up is COMPLETELY different from the one on the Nokia Maps: different roads, strange ways to get to the waypoints, ... In short I can not use this route on the phone as I would like.
Is there a way to transfer complete route AS IS from Nokia Maps to the phone Maps application?
I have a C6-01 and I noticed that when Nokia Maps 3.09 is online, route calculating is irritating slow. Why is that? I cannot think of any reason for that, since Nokia Maps is set to ignore traffic infoI also have Garmin Mobile XT on my phone, and as Nokia Maps 3.09, it only has the map data for the South Brazil region. Both maps have similar size. If Nokia Maps is set to go online, it is way slower on route calculation than Garmin Mobile XT is. don't understand why Nokia Maps 3.09, being a state of art nav system, developed specifically for Nokia Belle, is so beaten by the humble Garmin Mobile XT, which is an outdated system, developed for Linux in the first place !lso, I learned from my experience with Nokia Maps 3.09 that route calculating time is dependent on the amount of maps loaded on the phone. The less maps loaded, the faster is route calculating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have prepared a route, on Nokia Maps online, which has 22 waypoints plus the start and end point (that's the maximum number of points Nokia Maps online supports). It's a very long route in Brazil: 8.340 Km long. As the route is saved to my Favorites, I can easily see it on any browser when I click on the corresponding favorite name.
But I simply cannot share this route, and I'm very sad about it, because I prepared the route with the intention to share it. When I click on the route's share icon on my Favourites and paste the short link to the browser, I get the errror: "Oops, something went wrong. Please come back later.". This happens on any PC web browser.
Here's the short URL I'm supposed to use for sharing this route: What's going on here? It seems to be a bug of Nokia Maps code or a bug of the URL shortener. I suspect the most on the URL shortenere, as the route has 24 waypoints. But then again, if Maps supports routes with 24 waypoints, the URL shortener should also support it.
If there's any Nokia representative here, could I have a way of contating the support theme in order to follow this up?

So I am having a very strange problem. I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode.This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
I just downloaded OviMaps 3.03 and tried to use the navigation. After a few seconds it asks me to allow for access to the online shop. As I'm living in Belgium (where data plans suck and are far too expensive), I declined, then it stopped the navigation (going back to the map with no more guidance). How to get the navigation functionality without data plan?

For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. Am I missing something on how to enable text to speech so that it speaks street names?

I can enter an address to navigate too, but after a few seconds, my phone asks to go online to 'enter the store' or something like that. After I press 'no', the phone seems to loose the fact that it was navigating and I just see my current location, but the navigation instructions are gone. If I re-enter the address I want to go to, I get the same problem again. Can I set some setting that would avoid the question of 'entering the store' or is this some kind of bug?

I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.
Is there a way I can download the maps as a zip file or something from my pc and then later install them on my phone? If yes..where can I find the downlaod links? I am using an E7-00 with Symbain Anna update (round icons..cool!!)
I'm not able to search the places in the offline search; although in online search it finds the places around the city. I saw a thread in forum which says, the new search is dosent go outside the city, but with 3.01 search was able to find anything which is available in the offline download.If that is the case, if u have older version..

It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Is it only N9 problem or are getting maps updated soon?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen my phone is switched on but hasn't been used for a few hours when I go to use it I find that it has gone into the "Offline" mode from then on the only way that I can clear this and use my phone again is by switching it off and back on which then gives me the option to come out of the Offline mode, I also sometimes get the insert the SIM card message having switched off and back on again.
