I have a N95 (N95-1), and this morning I turned it on after it went flat, and the screen backlight isn't working. The keypad still lights up, and the LED screen seems to be fine.I've tried everything up to a factory restart. Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it? It's really quite annoying!
View 5 RepliesA little while ago my battery ran out on my Xperia Play and nothing has really worked since then.
1. Backlight does not work, at all.
2. The phone does not detect the battery (though I am able to charge it). I have that 'no battery' indicator on the top of my screen at all times. I have bought a new battery, no change. If I keep it plugged in with/without battery nothing changes.
3. Screen is really laggy now. I have to try to swipe the screen like 18 times before it actually goes through and unlocks. When I try to type, the keys I press get held so all sorts of funny accents are all over the place.
Its not usable currently. If I use the arrow keys to navigate the menus, it works fine. When I tried to take the phone apart I managed to break the LCD screen. Replaced that and now I'm back where I started. Anything I can do? Replace the digitizer?
my N97 mini 11.0.045 works fine except that the backlight does not activate when a new SMS is received. It should work the same way as for an incoming voice call.In the meantime I'm using Best Reminder to activate the backlight after 30 seconds (reminds you every 30seconds after this point until you acknowledge the message).Is it just my phone that exhibits this behaviour or is it a common issue?

My N95 has been on the frits! It sometimes shows garbles colors, or a weird scanline diagonal draw of the screen. Sometimes if I slide it enough times the screen is drawn correctly but only the top left corner. Other times it just sits there on a black (no backlight) screen. Any reason why it's doing this?

The light on the keyboard lights up fine but the screen backlight only comes on when I push down hard on a certain part of the screen or give it a good whack. Anyone experienced this before and know how I might be able to fix it?

I can see the screen but it's crazy dim I have to put it to a light to see anything at all. Tried brightness, obviously didn't work.
The phone was in my bra/shirt for several hours. I'm thinking maybe the phone overheated? Not sure.
Other than trying to reset/restore the phone which I heard usually doesn't work, and changing the LCD, what can I do to fix it that doesn't include opening up the phone?

Automatically Dim Backlight - is ON in screen/keyboard settings section but the baclight is always ON which i dont want. I want it to turn OFF in my specified 45 seconds. This is draining my battery fast which is difficult for me when i travelling.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Storm2 9550 unlocked phone, which updated to the latest software version. Phone works properly except the backlight of the touch screen. Sometimes the backlight getting off without any reason( am not talking about the backlight time out). So, I can't see anything in the screen, but I can press the screen well. Mostly it happens when am going to unlock my phone's touch screen. Sometimes the backlight gets on automaticaly, otherwise, after doing a battery pull it gets on. I formatted the phone and installed softwares again, but nothing cahnge. For your information i have a screen protector on the screen.

The thing is that on this handset the three buttons on the front of the phone (the menu home and back buttons) are not back lit at all and do not flash when i receive a text or email.Have Orange basically given me another dodgy phone or is it something that I can remedy?
View 2 Replies View Related I've a problem with my new sony product, I was in swimming pool after taking some photos the phone stop working, and the screen blinking and can not boot up the phone, after checking it I notice that there is some water in the back camera cover.So i waited about 5 hours and tried to recharge it, then trying to boot it I heard the startup sound with no data on the screen!I noticed that the screen/touch working but there's no back-light!
then I shuttled it down and wait again, after booting the screen has no data and the startup sound works, ( Also there is no vibration anymore! )
I tried to use the small off button but no way! I've also upgraded it via PC Companion but still have the same issue!!I don't know what to do the phone is new...

View 1 Replies View RelatedLately I've had trouble with my iPhone 4S backlight. The backlight does not always turn on when I wake the phone from sleep.
I've tried turning off the auto-brightness, but it does not help, the same behaviour continues. When the backlight is not on toggling the auto-brightness button or adjusting the brightness or covering the ambient light sensor have no effect, the backlight stays off. Usually it just randomly turns on after I put the device to sleep and wake it up. And no, my cover does not block the sensor either.

I just got this phone in june and this is the secon time this happens, the phone would turn on and the lights everything on as if it was really on, but cant see the screen. A backlight is on but you cant see whats going on the phone. the only thing you see is a black screen, but it is ON you can feel the vibration everytime is press the screen, i just cant see the screen. i dont know what to do and im unable to attend a store to fix it

If i try to unlock i see a blank screen with the backlight on. Unable to access homescreen at all. If i leave the phone for sometime and then if i try unlocking again it works fine. Having this problem with latest version available in my country (4.0.4). I tried reinstalling the firmware using update service still no effect.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had my Blackberry Torch now for about 10months and last week i think i may have got it slightly wet after i tried to answer the phone when getting out of the bath. Since then it has been ok but last night when i slid open the screen everything went black. As soon as i slide the screen shut it works again! This basically means that i can only use the phone as a touch screen phone when it is down (which isn't good for me as I always text using the keypad when it is slided open).I called o2 and they said before they send it off to be repaired that i should try upgrading all of the latest BB software as that might fix it. I have never had any upgrades but will this really be able to fix my screen? Is there any other way i can try and fix the phone myself?

Majority of people never notice it but I'd say 5% of people have issues caused by it (headache, migraines, seizures, etc.) Kind of like the CRT flicker but in modern LED backlit devices.
To test use a high end camera/DSLR with adjustable shutter speed and look for black lines on the phone screen when adjusting the camera's shutter speed.

My girlfriend and I both bought 1020's and they both show the backlight when hitting the power button. It happens when the device is at whatever current screen youre on, after you hit the button the screen closes as should, but then I get a glimpse of backlight.

Well i usually turn the lights on in my room. This morning i did not as i unplugged the bionic the backlight light up dimly. I let it sit i finally got tired of testing it the backlight stayed on indefinitely. I let it sit 5 min still on i have to push power button to wake and again to lock. So i was wondering if anyone noticed this it can drain battery i sometimes put phone in gym bag after charging without waking phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to 5.0xxx via BB DM and ran into this issue.Screen goes blank as per backlight timeout setting but it never comes up, however you push the screen, press the lock button. No display :-(. The phone is still on and I can see the buttons at bottom lit up and I can even receive calls but no display on the main screen. Have to battery-pull to make the screen work.Whats wrong?? I have tried adjusting Backlight Timeout settings, rebooting without media card, but to no avail. The problem is only with upgrade 5.0. I downgrade it to 4.7 and it works fine.

Last night it locked then froze, I turned it on and off and now it works fine but the backlight never turns off so it is constantly bright. Very annoying because it is draining the battery, and I never know when I have got a message or anything because all the button lights are always on too.

I have looked in the manual, tried different settings for the sensor and looked at online forums. No solution exists. The only way to make it work is by blocking the sensor with your finger. Obviously this is not a good solution. Is this a malfunction or is Nokia stupid to design the phone like this? On any model of Nokia on the press of a key the keypad backlight should come on.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI got my new 5800 xm and updated it to the latest firmware only because when I lock the phone keypad and when a new message arrives the LCD does not brightens up the phone gives only the notification sound and the led blinks and when the phone is not locked then the LCD brightens too and the sound is also heard and the phone vibrates too I had gone through the entire phone kindly tell if is there any way that we can turn on the backlight display too on when the new message or email arrives or is this the normal behavior of 5800 xm?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen typing using the backlight on either Live Messenger, or writing a document on Word or a long message, the device completely freezes and blacks out, with both screens, keypads being unresponsive. I have to take the battery out and put it back in to make it work again.This has only ever happened when I'm typing with the backlight on, and for a prolonged period. Backlight function is pretty much useless right now. Background apps are not the issue, and neither is any other function.The backlight is basically useless right now.
