Automatically Dim Backlight - is ON in screen/keyboard settings section but the baclight is always ON which i dont want. I want it to turn OFF in my specified 45 seconds. This is draining my battery fast which is difficult for me when i travelling.
View 1 RepliesI have a BlackBerry Storm2 9550 unlocked phone, which updated to the latest software version. Phone works properly except the backlight of the touch screen. Sometimes the backlight getting off without any reason( am not talking about the backlight time out). So, I can't see anything in the screen, but I can press the screen well. Mostly it happens when am going to unlock my phone's touch screen. Sometimes the backlight gets on automaticaly, otherwise, after doing a battery pull it gets on. I formatted the phone and installed softwares again, but nothing cahnge. For your information i have a screen protector on the screen.

View 4 Replies View Relatedok so a couple days ago i pulled my 9530 out of my pocket and hit the lock button, but it was a black screen. so since i thought that it might have froze, i pulled the battery, but when i put it back in the red light came on, but when the red light went away there was no backlight, i tried leaving the battery out for a day but it still doesnt work. any idea whats wrong with it?

I can see the screen but it's crazy dim I have to put it to a light to see anything at all. Tried brightness, obviously didn't work.
The phone was in my bra/shirt for several hours. I'm thinking maybe the phone overheated? Not sure.
Other than trying to reset/restore the phone which I heard usually doesn't work, and changing the LCD, what can I do to fix it that doesn't include opening up the phone?

I have a N95 (N95-1), and this morning I turned it on after it went flat, and the screen backlight isn't working. The keypad still lights up, and the LED screen seems to be fine.I've tried everything up to a factory restart. Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it? It's really quite annoying!

It should work the same way as for an incoming voice call.In the meantime I'm using Best Reminder to activate the backlight after 30 seconds (reminds you every 30seconds after this point until you acknowledge the message).Is it just my phone that exhibits this behaviour or is it a common issue?

I purchased a Flipout around 3 weeks ago and at the weekend it went mental and started rebooting, luckily Orange replaced the handset for me which came today. The thing is that on this handset the three buttons on the front of the phone (the menu home and back buttons) are not back lit at all and do not flash when i receive a text or email.Have Orange basically given me another dodgy phone or is it something that I can remedy?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA little while ago my battery ran out on my Xperia Play and nothing has really worked since then.
1. Backlight does not work, at all.
2. The phone does not detect the battery (though I am able to charge it). I have that 'no battery' indicator on the top of my screen at all times. I have bought a new battery, no change. If I keep it plugged in with/without battery nothing changes.
3. Screen is really laggy now. I have to try to swipe the screen like 18 times before it actually goes through and unlocks. When I try to type, the keys I press get held so all sorts of funny accents are all over the place.
Its not usable currently. If I use the arrow keys to navigate the menus, it works fine. When I tried to take the phone apart I managed to break the LCD screen. Replaced that and now I'm back where I started. Anything I can do? Replace the digitizer?
I am using BB Strom 2 Smartphone.For some reason the instrument goes to off mode several times It does not happen reguraly but surely it happens 1 to 2 times every 2 - 3 days.Sometimes it reboots on its own , but sometimes i press the power key Once it re boots it works fine.The battery is almost 70%.

My BB Storm will momentarily update to Eastern Time, then immediately go back to Central Time. Considering I live smack in the middle of Central Time, this is a bit "Twilight Zone". It also seems more prone to doing this when I'm in an area where I know my phone service goes in and out. Anyone else run into this?

I just changed the Auto Update to "off" and updated the software (now v5.0.0.328, platform 4.2.0.128), so I'm waiting to see if it does it again, but I'm hoping someone can tell me what's going on. I'd kind of like to go back to the Auto Update On.
For several days my e-mail isn't automatically reconciling and it's also not reconciling when I try to force it by telling it to reconcile. I use Yahoo! e-mail and another e-mail account through Yahoo! Small business. both have reconciled since I bought the phone a year ago, until now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEarlier this week I found that the GPS on my iPhone was not working. I have been using this frequently with various Apps and it has always worked flawlessly, in all of them. Â
I can get it to work but this means either doing a 'Reset Network Settings' or a hard reset, or restarting. Then it works, but only for a limited time, if the phone is turned off for a few minutes it has lost GPS again. I have tested both in and out of the case, ( Otterbox Armor ) so this is not causing any issues. Â
The other difference is that it's not connecting automatically every time to my WiFi, sometimes I have to enter the password, and some times not. Â
I have checked all the suggestions on the internet but I still have this issue, which is defeating me! Also my wife has an identical iPhone and the GPS on this works without and problem.

I use a corded headset with my blackberry, I have owned a bold 9000 and a Torch and just upgraded to the Bold 9900. I have two headsets, one in my vehicle and one in my office. They both work fine and work with other blackberry's and devices.The problem is when the headset is connected to the blackberry the software does not select this device as the default device for answering or placing calls. This is a real flaw in the programming and is a complete nuance. Every time I place or receive a call I must select the headset manually on the touch screen.All the other blackberry's make the transition automatically. Meaning they all send the call to the headset without any intervention from me. I do not understand how this feature could have been left out if all the previous blackberry's worked just fine.

If i touch the button it doesn't work.
If i touch the back the button it works and both the lights on the side buttons work.
But if i touch the recent apps button it doesn't work.
It will automatically work by itself and it does so to the point where i can use my phone, it keeps bringing up recent apps, split screen view, i cant even use my phone because the menu button keeps automatically pressing/working by itself. I don't know what caused this..
In my Lumia 1320 time sync is not working. I can set it manually.
Few times it got restarted automatically [not frequently though, may be once in a week or so], and from then onward the time reverted back to the old time which was set as manually. If it set to update automatically, time sync is not happening at all.
so over the weekend, while I was away from home, the home button on my iPhone 4 stopped working. It happened suddenly, and the only preceding events I can think of were that (1) we had heavy rain but I kept the phone in my pocket and neither my pocket nor the phone were wet when I took it out after the rain had passed (2) I downloaded the F1 timing app which initially had some crashing issues. I'm not sure if either of these contributed but it's possible.While the home button wouldn't work at all when pressed, I found that the voice control was starting automatically (and calling my contacts without me knowing). This would suggest a long press of the home button I think however I couldn't replicate it with the button. To avoid calling more contacts from my pocket I turned the phone off but it turned itself straight back on and always went straight to voice control after starting up. I finally got around this by leaving the phone on flight mode while not in use. I also found the accessibility setting to have an on-screen home button which made the phone slightly usable but not ideal.
When I charged the phone that evening it came up with the recovery screen requesting that I plug into iTunes. As I was away and without my laptop I was not able to do this but got through the weekend by cancelling lots of voice control pop ups and a lot of flight mode use. Now I'm home I have connected to iTunes and a restore was required. I followed this right through, the restore completes and when it reconnects to iTunes it says it needs to restore again. At this stage I can unplug it, turn it off and on again and use it.If it's turned on while unplugged it will start ok and then can be connected to iTunes and synced but the voice control will still start automatically after turning on and the home button does not work at all.If it's turned on while plugged in it will be in recovery mode and request a restore again.

I have the most up-to-date firmware and mobileme setup and have refreshed everything and still no luck. The same seems to be happening with my emails. In order for me to have updated emails on the phone I need to open up the Mail application and only then do I get recent emails.

Why doesn't the browser and BBM work with my new Storm? Do I need to contact Fido so that they can put the Storm's pin in their system or something? I'm not that good with this stuff but that seems like a possibility Is there a setting I need to change? My SIM card is in there and working fine but I just cannot get BBM or the Browser to work
