finally, with USB-2Go, I can find valid reason to upgrade from N70. good pixel camera, ability to browse files from external drive, and HDMI out. Well my question is, is the USB2Go port seperate from the HDMI out port ? If yes, does it mean I can use the N8 to browse my external drive and play video thru my HDTV ? My phone errors out when I setup the account through the phone. Koodo does not allow setting it up through a browser. So, 2 months ago, We went to the local Nokia Care Point (there is only one in Guadeloupe). We went today to this shop to have news about my mobile and, the guy explained me that the nokia's factory bring them up the phone and could'n repair it... He gave me back my phone, but he didn't give me back my poor little micro-USB port.
So, I have 2 questions :
First : what are the solutions proposed by Nokia for the customers in French West Indies (Guadeloupe and Martinique) ?
Second : why do you propose low quality services for us (comparatively with "normal" customers from France) ?
I will be getting this phone tomorow, and would like to know, is it safe to connect it via the 3.5mm cable to car head unit aux port, and use it as a music player.I have an now quite old Pioneer head unit, which doesn't have USB port, so playing music from CDs is a pain, and of course playing it through phone would make lifa a lot easier, but I don't want to damage it in the process.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was able to charge my lumia 900 with my car (Toyota Prius 2010) USB until the latest firmware upgrade. Only catch was to use original cable came along with phone. It didn't accept any other micro USB cables. But after the latest update even the original cable doesn't work! All the cables works well to charge the phone when connected to laptop. I am having hard time using it as i frequently travel.Ideally i should be able to charge with any micro USB cable in the car. Could you guys suggest any workarounds or fixes?Not to mention my iPhone was perfect in USB recharge though it is a slow recharge.

Just in 3+ weeks USB port metal shield in phone was ruptured from phone circuit board and metal holding came out with the cable. Board was not damaged as I could get USB working by keeping cable in manually in right position but as it was not secured it stopped working as soon as phone moved even slightly. Using Nokia Comes with Music/Ovi store during Xmas heavily I connected/disconnected usb 200+ times in this short time frame.
Nokia repair shop took the phone for repairs for over 5 weeks and surprised by a billed (40 Euros) statement that it can't be repaired satisfactorily. It's not within Nokia limited warranty terms and I should by a new phone! I can't complain as consumer as I bought phone for my company and can't use my private insurance to cover replacement. As I bought it via an operator I'm wondering whose Quality Assurance I should now complain. As a telecoms consultant I've advised several equipment manufacturers on quality assurance but this really puzzles me.

i have a usb webcam but the quality isnt very good, i wanted to use my iphone camera as a webcam. i know there are apps that allow you to do that, but they are all through wifi. i dont want to use wifi because when the connection gets low the camera shuts off. thats not very reliable. i was looking for something that allows you to use the camera plugged in the usb port. just as any other webcam.

For the past month or so i have been having to charge my iPhone 4 from my USB port in my computer. I have bought new wall chargers and car chargers, and even tried a few friends chargers and they will not work on my phone what so ever. I can use the same cord from the wall adapter that will not work, and plug it into my computer and it works perfectly.

This is an odd one. I have a Curve 9300. I play music through my earphones and there has never been a problem. Today however, i cannot get the pin to go into the portal - it seems to have been sealed. Tried other normally compatible plug ins, but they too are blocked.

I plugged it in last night before bed like I always do, but when I woke up it hadn't charged a bit and wasn't even recognizing that it had been plugged in. I tried my USB data cable as well, and that didn't register either unless I wiggled the cord around and held it still once it did register. I eventually did get the phone to register that I had plugged it in, but I had to wiggle the cord just so and leave the charger half-way plugged in once I found the sweet spot.

A month ago, the Blackberry stopped being able to charge so I took it into the shop and the phone was inspected, and I was informed the phone would be fixed under the manufacturers warranty and returned within 2 weeks. Exactly 2 weeks later I was told to collect my phone as it was fixed and it had been returned UNFIXED as I was told the damage was NOT covered by the warranty, after being initially informed it was. What has happened is one of the prong inside the micro USB port has broken off so the phone won't charge. This has also happened to a friend of mine, so surely it is down to faulty materials? I don't understand why this is not covered by the warranty.
I was wondering if Blackberry themselves would be able to fix my phone (as Carphone Warehouse are refusing to, unless i pay £170 - more than the phone is worth. I have taken this up further with them but have constantly received poor customer service and am not willing to deal with them anymore).
