Nokia Lumia :: PC Won't Recognize 800?

A few days ago my phone stopped working out of the blue, I brought it to the nokia care centre and today I got it back and it was "good to go", although all my stuff was gone. Now when I connect it to my computer it will charge, but it won't sync and it doesn't show up in device manager. I connected it to another computer and everything worked fine, it started to install the drivers etc... but I need to get it working on this computer. I've restarted the computer and the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled zune, ran various windows fix it things, installed updates for the computer... nothing!

I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.

I purchased a used icon yesterday and downloaded Lumia camera. The app said I needed denim and maybe 20 min later I got a notification saying welcome to denim (no loading screen or spinning gears etc). I try Lumia camera again and it says I still need denim. Extras and info says I have denim and resets haven't solved the problem (simple power down and the volume power button combo).

Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.

I have been using Nokia N82 gsm modem via usb connection to my pc last days. I noticed that it gets so hot when I do that, so I tired not to keep it connectet to the pc more than 8 hour. But last night I used it for 12 houre for downloading, so when I woke up, I saw than the computer does not recognize my phone!

I have an X6 and when I try to sync it with PC Suite and Ovi, they either do not recognise the device, or cannot detect that it is connected. I have reinstalled all the software from the Nokia site, reset the phone (soft and hard) and it still doesn't work. I have been reading a lot of comments and it seems that if you have this handset with O2, then neither of these applications will work. O2 say that the handset is fine and it is an issue with Nokia. Nokia have told me to do all the things as above. At a bit of a loss now! Have 3 days in which to reject phone.

I have recently installed ovi suite. My computer keeps asking me to install the driver for the "bluetooth peripheral" device (and it can't find the program to install). But that is not the real problem. problem is when i connect my phone to the pc it doesn't recognize it, i've gone through all the help files and done everything, checked the connection was right, disconnected, rebooted both devices and reconnected, and made sure it was on use as Ovi Suite when the option comes in the beginning.Furthermore, although my computer sees the phone as a Bluetooth device and i can browse and copy files to and fro the phone, the pc suite doesn't recognize the phone via the bluetooth route either.again, i've gone through all the help suggestions.

Got my n900 last week. and it cant recognize my sim card.im using a pay as you go sm card with CBB. danish provider which is under telenor.i have been researching around with this sim card errors, and i found out that the problem is with new sim cards.the chip design is different from the old ones.
and i have tried with the old design of same provider, ( my fathers sim card) and that worked fine in my n900.i called my provider and they can only provide the new designed chip.
so i really hope nokia comes with an update very soon, coz i cant use this phone for jack now.i took a pic of the 2 different chipset design i have.the left one is the new design which doesnt work, the right one is the old design which works

I just updated the Nokia Updater software after being prompted to do so, and now my PC doesn't recognise my phone (xpressmusic 5530) when I plug it in.Windows asks for software, but the only disc I received with the phone was the Ovi Suite, which does nothing to (re) install what's needed for the phone. When I plug the phone into the USB the phone itself asks which connection I want (PC Suite / Mass storage etc) but the PC now doesn't recognise it.

My N900 can't recognize or see memory card. is this part of the big failure or peculiar to mine. Worst still, I cant use check my credit balance using the code *556#, load credit. It doesnt with pc suite, nor with the ovi suite, map updater, map loader! is this a fraud or what?

Have owned my 2nd n97 for 3 months now and suddenly when I downloaded an application called "shopping list" off the ovi suite site I had major troubles.My saved location for apps from ovi is to my :E drive which has 25gb free space, but after installation of the app I thought id open it and check it out.So I opened it, the app froze, I managed to exit it and then uninstalled it ASAP,.Next I connected the phone to my laptop to discover more corrupt files so I have deleted all that I can find.After that my phone was running like a tutle and would freeze on me,So I thought to remove battery and micro SD card, when suddenly turning the phone on without the micro SD card it would work really well.Question is: why would the phone work fine without the micro SD when I save apps to the E drive ? I have reformatted the micro SD card and it still freezes my phone and brings up a message "E memory full,move or delete some files" , how can that b possible when I have 25gb free? IM over all these dramas that nokia software/apps has given me.

I have a new E7-00 and a PC running Vista. When I install Ovi suite and conect the phone then Ovi always says that the phone is not in PC suite (or Ovi suite) mode, but it is. I can never get beyond this which means Ovi doesn't link with the phone, I can't sync, and the phone is basically only any use as a paper weight. Nokia acknowledged a problem with the USB drivers for the E7 but offered no solution.

My headset (WH-701) is no longer recognized by my nokia N8 after I had updated to nokia belle. I first have to put my headset into the 3,5 mm AV connector before being recognized, and even then the headset may stop working after a few minutes. Once the headphone is working I still cannot make use of the (music)buttons on the headset (louder, softer, next, previous, etc.) I am using the headphones every day.

After installing the Suite I tried to connect my phone to it, but the process interrupts on the stage of when the system looks for the drivers for a new software...then the message comes up couldnt find the drivers and the Suite doesnt recognize the phone.

after browsing in Opera Mini(5.2 beta), my 5800 froze and restarted. It no longer recognizes my memory card. On starting usb connection it tells me that i don't have a memory card in and PC-suite might not work as expected. I tried a soft-reset (*#7370#), but it still does not recognize the memory card. All applications saved on my memory card are no longer displayed. In file manager it tells me I have no memory card in. Of course I have ejected and inserted the memory card, but the initial problem started when my I was just browsing.

I am able to transfer media files (mp3) to the phone with my Ubuntu 12.04 with no problem at all. However, the phone does not recognize files when I go to Nokia Music application. Software says that all the Music "folders" (Albums, Genres etc.) are empty. I have tried putting the mp3 files in all possible folders ( music, documents etc) on phone, but no luck. I have also tried several different mp3 files.

I have a contact for my home landline number, and the number is correct (i.e. it works when I call home). The contact also has a picture, and a custom ringtone.When I phone the N8 from the home number, it doesn't use the custom ringtone, it doesn't show the picture, and when I look in the log, it hasn't recognised the call as coming from my contact, but it has got the correct phone number (proving that I'm not masking the number on calls from the home landline).
Is there something special I have to do to persuade the N8 to accept UK landline calls, and match them up with my contacts? I've checked my contacts, and only one contains the home landline number, so the N8 is not finding the wrong contact.My wife's mobile works just fine, so the basic mecanism is OK. I just needto persuade the N8 that 01420555555 = 01420555555 (I changed a few digits, to hide my actual number?

Where is failure (software/hardware)?my N900 do recognize: all stereo headphones, TV-out cable, mono headset with microphone HS-40,but DONT recognize stereo headsets with microphone (like original WH-205)i think that is a software problem - why mono headset works, why stereo dont? all connectors must be OK - if wouldnt - mono headset and tv out cable wouldnt work at all...

I've just installed Nokia Ovi Suite, and to say i'm a little disappointed is an understatement, the program slows my whole computer down. I have a 5800 Xpressmusic FW31.0.10. I've been trying to copy music from my PC to my 5800, and yesterday when I launched Ovi Music Player, it didn't recognise the phone as being connected. It also started popping up with "Found New Hardware - MTP Device" EVERY 5 SECONDS!
I installed Ovi Suite and that just slowed my whole machine down. After waiting all morning for Ovi Suite to speed up a bit i've tried syncing my music, but it returns Operation Failed, Unable to copy the tracks. Attempting to copy them from my PC to my phone returns the same error. I also have a video decoder displaying in my sys tray, not just 1 icon, 22 of the same icon displaying in my sys tray. I've attached a screenshot to show what i mean.

I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.

Cant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

I have my Nokia Lumia 710 and from the beginning there is like a black dot on the screen. First i thought it is above the screen so i could wipe It...but it is not! In is actually under the screen and it really bothers me when i am on white background, on internet or playing games.

Each time I restart my phone, it loses the current date and time and set's it to some apparent random day. This last time it chose the 16th of May 2012.
I took delivery of it yesterday and it's been fully charged. I've set the Date+time to 'Set Automatically' to 'On'
