After installing the Suite I tried to connect my phone to it, but the process interrupts on the stage of when the system looks for the drivers for a new software...then the message comes up couldnt find the drivers and the Suite doesnt recognize the phone.
View 6 RepliesI have an X6 and when I try to sync it with PC Suite and Ovi, they either do not recognise the device, or cannot detect that it is connected. I have reinstalled all the software from the Nokia site, reset the phone (soft and hard) and it still doesn't work. I have been reading a lot of comments and it seems that if you have this handset with O2, then neither of these applications will work. O2 say that the handset is fine and it is an issue with Nokia. Nokia have told me to do all the things as above. At a bit of a loss now! Have 3 days in which to reject phone.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed ovi suite. My computer keeps asking me to install the driver for the "bluetooth peripheral" device (and it can't find the program to install). But that is not the real problem. problem is when i connect my phone to the pc it doesn't recognize it, i've gone through all the help files and done everything, checked the connection was right, disconnected, rebooted both devices and reconnected, and made sure it was on use as Ovi Suite when the option comes in the beginning.Furthermore, although my computer sees the phone as a Bluetooth device and i can browse and copy files to and fro the phone, the pc suite doesn't recognize the phone via the bluetooth route either.again, i've gone through all the help suggestions.

When I install Ovi suite and conect the phone then Ovi always says that the phone is not in PC suite (or Ovi suite) mode, but it is. I can never get beyond this which means Ovi doesn't link with the phone, I can't sync, and the phone is basically only any use as a paper weight. Nokia acknowledged a problem with the USB drivers for the E7 but offered no solution.

I have a 5800 Xpressmusic FW31.0.10. I've been trying to copy music from my PC to my 5800, and yesterday when I launched Ovi Music Player, it didn't recognise the phone as being connected. It also started popping up with "Found New Hardware - MTP Device" EVERY 5 SECONDS!
I installed Ovi Suite and that just slowed my whole machine down. After waiting all morning for Ovi Suite to speed up a bit i've tried syncing my music, but it returns Operation Failed, Unable to copy the tracks. Attempting to copy them from my PC to my phone returns the same error. I also have a video decoder displaying in my sys tray, not just 1 icon, 22 of the same icon displaying in my sys tray. I've attached a screenshot to show what i mean.

I own a Nokia 5800 with firmware v21.0.025, and am using Nokia OVI suita 2.0, and am facing one big irritating issue! When I try syncing my Photos, I check on my device and click "All", and it says "You have no photos in this folder in device"...however I have indeed a large no. of images,but none of them are viewable. I am unable to view the images on my device (through OVI Suite)

I have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.
When an audio device is connected to my car audio, the symbol ♪ appears, telling me that not only a PHONE device is connected, but also an audio device, so that I can make calls and also listen to music (in 2 different sources: one for calls (BT Phone channel)and other for mp3 (BT Audio device) < this one with a real good audio).
I connected my nokia c3 to this car audio but it wasnt recognized as an audio device, only as a phone and the symbol ♪ didn't appear. That is, I CAN play songs, but the audio quality is horrible, trashy, as if it was a phone call (cuz it will use the bt phone source, not the bta device). But when i connect any other phone, the audio plays normally.
I got the c3 connected to my PC and it was also recognized as a phone (and also a modem) BUT NOT as an audio device.
after buying a C3-00 and tried to connect it to my PC, that there was no PC Suite for C3-00. The only available is OVi. Is this true? Because Ovi needs a bigger RAM than PC suite, if I want to use Ovi Suite then I have to buy bigger RAM, well, not a good solution.Is there a way (or to download form somewhere) so C3-00 can also use PC suite instead of only Ovi suite?Or should I buy higher type phone such as E5-00?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirstly, I've had a problem ticket and Emails with Nokia Support on the problem I'm about to describe and I'm told it will be forwarded to the OVI Suite Team to investigate.Basic problem is that Ovi Suite can not correctly register/recognise the maps it has downloaded to the phone.However the phone checks the server with it's map update function and reports back that they are at the latest level and no updates are available. Ovi Suite tells me correctly the maps I have on my phone but still offers the " 'gold star' Updated Maps Available" and if you then click this BOOM! all your phone maps are wiped out as the new maps start to download.VERY VERY annoying and expensive in time and financially costly on internet connections with limited/paid for bandwidth.I can confirm, as support have, that I have the lastest versions of phone software, maps software and installed maps.I've also done 3 clean installs (including running PC Suite Cleaner) and the problem still remains.As far as the phone is concerned it is totally happy with all software levels (after checking with the servers) and everything else works on the phone as normal.
I have asked if there are any internal logs/debug switches I can turn on to help diagnose the problem but am advised'for nokia use only' (or words to that effect).From an end user point of view this is very frustrating, especially the basic map update mechanism as once initiated all existing maps are wiped out on the phone.I think this should be changed if at all possible.Most people will want an up to date map for where they are or planning to go.However to have a map version of places you are likely to go at short notice (even if they are out of date) is and important backup/safety feature.To be forced to update all maps is really not a very user or server friendly feature.Anyway, any comments are welcome (do you have a C5-03 & Ovi Suite and see this issue?) and meanwhile I'll wait to see if there is a fix in the pipeline.

I get the belle update yesterday(11/2/12) on my C6-01. And I feel that my phone goes comparatively slow than anna,so I decided to move my messages(over 3,000) to pc. But everytime I completed it,it only deletes 100 sms from my inbox(it shows that 'you have free spaces by 290mb' but nothing happens). I have tried hitting 'move messages later than 2 weeks and 1 month' but nothing works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work with a Nokia C5-00 operator locked (Movistar Spain) one month ago. When I connect it thru Ovi Suite (in a Windows 7 box), a firmware update was available, and yesterday I tried to do the upgrade.
Ovi Suite detected my phone, and a few moments later, backup its contents, and started to download the new firmware. Troubles came when Ovi Suite began to do the update, as it failed with a "Network Connect Error" when started to do the process.
Screen of my phone went completely white, and after disconnecting the USB cable, the phone simply died, except when I press the red button (it makes a vibration, but screen doesn't turn on). If I reconnect the phone to the computer, Windows try to install a "Nokia USB ROM" device, but unsuccessfully.
Can I make a sort of "reset" to revive my phone?
I bought one more C5 today and when I try to connect it to the pc via pc suite it says "Pc suite support installation failed" , I tried everything from reinstalling pc suite on pc, resetting phone but nothing working to let me restore the contacts from my previous C5 through Pc suite
View 9 Replies View RelatedI used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
