Aug 22, 2010I've installed ovi on my machine and when it asks me to connect the 5800 nothing happens.it says something like 'nokia ovi could not connect,,,,'
is there anything i can try?

Jan 27, 2010My 5800xm has v30.0.011, not able to install the 3.3 version of Ovi Maps. It says the device software is un-compatible, therefore it cannot be installed. Do I need to wait for an update, or is it possible to install the latest navigation maps, if yes please elucidate.

Jul 18, 2010I've been using my 5800 XPress comes with music device happily with no problems for about 6 months, now all of a sudden whenever I try to transfer my Comes With Music downloads to my device for no apparent reason they ALL fail to transfer just saying that the transfer has failed but no explanation as to why. There's about 4GB of memory available so it's not a lack of space. I've tried re-installing OVI player to no avail, I can't understand what has happened to stop it transferring, I've changed nothing at all.Any ideas how I might be able to get the music to start transferring again?

Nokia :: 5800 Bluetooth Connection - Finds The Car Audio Receiver But Fails To Pair
Aug 15, 2010I have 5800 with version 40. When I go to establish a Bluetooth connection between the phone and my car stereo with BT, the phone finds the car audio receiver but fails to pair .
In the phone help section , it say I need to first assign a pin code to the phone and then enter the same number on the radio receiver and then start pairing .
I have looked all over and can not find any menu on my phone that let me input any pin number . I have tried numbers like 12345 and 1234 on the radio receiver but failed .
Does any one knows how to input the pin number . This apparently is not the Sim number .
This is a number we are supposed to come up with and input in both devices

Feb 8, 2010after browsing in Opera Mini(5.2 beta), my 5800 froze and restarted. It no longer recognizes my memory card. On starting usb connection it tells me that i don't have a memory card in and PC-suite might not work as expected. I tried a soft-reset (*#7370#), but it still does not recognize the memory card. All applications saved on my memory card are no longer displayed. In file manager it tells me I have no memory card in. Of course I have ejected and inserted the memory card, but the initial problem started when my I was just browsing.

Nov 3, 2011It turns that a new version of foursquare is available - running on Qt and requiring Nokia's "smart" installer to install it. However, when the installer gets to "Installing 2 of 6" it fails and gives the message "Installation Failed" followed by "To continue this installation later, select this icon in your application menu".
I have Googled and Googled and haven't managed to find a solution that doesn't require me to install a modified version of Symbian. Nothing else, including uninstalling and reinstalling the installer has worked.
Lumia Icon :: Bluetooth Connection Fails - Phone Does Not Recognize Radio
Aug 12, 2014Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.

Mar 23, 2012i recently bought an iphone 4 16gb from a friend, and installed the IOS 5.0.1 update which changed the baseband to 4.11.08. I now wish to update to 5.1 but my iphone finds an error half way through the download, and if i download the firmware manually and hold shift then hit restore, it doesn't find the firmware file i have downloaded. If i try and check for updates / restore on itunes, it fails to download half way through too. Could this be anything to do with the phone?

Aug 8, 2014I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.

Nokia 5800 :: OVI Suite 2.2.0.245 Error Recognizing Device
Jul 8, 2010I have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

Jan 16, 2010Just got my 5800 XpressMusic chrome on T mobile uk it come with "comes with music" packaging and manuel with activation pin so i assume my device is compatible with Nokia music store however when i go to register using my device i put in the pin my own details and accept all etc. i get a message saying that my device is not supported and would i like to see compatible devices or better still go to car phone warehouse and get one there?
my phone is the only way i have of getting this music as i use a mac and they are not supported what so ever not even the website. today my friend got an iphone which is his first ever mac product he has had all he could go on about is how easy everything is he is even using a pc my experience has been scratching my head trying to work out how to set up music email

Feb 25, 2010I was having trouble connecting my nokia 5800 as MTP device to my windows 7 machine. After reading some suggestions on the forum I removed my memory card and vola it recognized the nokia 5800 as MTP device installed all its drivers. I then used Latest OVI to sync music to my 5800.
After the sync when I try to refresh the music library, it just opens and the scanning window and closes it without adding any thing. Similarly if I try to set an image as the wallpaper when I click on image earlier it used to bring up the list of images on the memory card but now it is coming up blank. The firmware is V 4.0.

It responds to all the Nokia commands, PC suite and Ovi Suite identifies it, I was able to update its firmware to the latest every time its available, it does everything a 5800 is supposed to be, works like a charm every time. Now the thing is, the product code on the back is 0565881, which the Nokia can-i-update site says belongs to a version of the 6210 Navigator. Jan 6, 2010I recently connected my Nokia 5800 to my bluetooth connection on my Windows 7 Ultimate pc of which downloads and installs the drivers from Windows Update.This works fine for the most part but i am left with 3x Bluetooth Peripher Device enteries showing in Device Manager and a Yellow Exclimation Mark located next to the Nokia 5800 device icon in Device and Printers but i cannot seem to find out what drivers are missing, even Windows Update find nothing for these entries.I have the latest version of Ovi Suite installed on my computer but this does not install any bluetooth drivers, I have the latest drivers for my Trust 16008 Bluetooth dongle but these 3x Bluetooth Peripheral Device enteries only appear when i connect the Nokia 5800 to bluetooth. I have also tried to locate the drivers from the support CD but this fails also.
I have tried looking on Nokia Discussions for a solution but it seems i am not the only person that is having the problem with these enteries in Device Manager and no drivers for them.It seems that Nokia has not released the relevent drivers therefor full Bluetooth Driver installation is incomplete.I would like Nokia to fully rectify the situation and explain why these drivers are missing and if they will be released.

It is properly getting connected and getting paired with the device but while making the call the other end cannot hear my voice but I can hear them clearly. Initially I thought my bluetooth hands free is having problem so I bought another. But the problem was still the same. I can hear from the bluetooth device but the party cannot hear. Then I tried the same bluetooth handsfree with another Nokia 5800 express music and found it working fine. Is there anyone can help me to solve this issue. The difference between my mobile and other is the software version. I am having the latest version but the other is the first version. Is there any hardware issue or software issue with this?

I've tried re-installing using the Nokia Software Updater, but kept getting Device Recovery errors and the phone turned off and lost its connection. After reading other posts, I did a soft reset on my phone then re-installed the firmware without anymore However, now the phone WON'T TURN ON AT ALL! When I press and hold the Power On/Off button on the top, it makes a buzzing sound, but the screen stays dark and doesn't turn on. Before you ask, the phone battery was fully charged. My 58000 is totally unusuable. How do I get it to power on?
