I've had 2 replacements of the Lumia 920. And both suffered the same problems, random shutdowns. The problem seems to only happen when I'm not using the phone. But the only way to turn the phone on is to use the volume down key and power key for 5 seconds.

So for the past week I've had the strange problem of N5 randomly shutting down, but ONLY when my screen is on. if I'm listening to music, I can listen until my battery runs out, but if I'm looking up stuff or playing a game, it'll shut down after a few minutes at varying lengths of time(It's a sudden shutdown so my screen just goes black when I'm in the middle of something).
After it has shut itself down and I try to turn it on then it'll turn off after the boot animation and before the lock screen shows. If I want it back on then I can get it start up again if I have it connected to a charger until the lockscreen shows and it'll act like normal(besides the whole random shutdowns)after I unplug it. I also don't have this problem when it's plugged in.
I've tried changing roms, kernels, and flashing the stock firmware with no success. I'm currently on XTraSmooth(Lollipop) with ElementalX 4.04 kernel.
I'm having an odd problem with my Lumia 800, The phone randomly shuts down, it doesn't seem to be related to the power levels as it does it when fully charged. It can go 2 days or 5 minutes before doing this. The odd thing is that to turn it back on I have to plug it into my PC, it comes back on immediately... it does not seem to come on if I plug it into the mains. This is a recent issue it worked for a couple of months without any issues.

It seems to happen mostly when navigating through screens or accessing apps. It will sit and stream music from the Nokia Music service fine... I have to perform a reset to recover the phone when it hangs.

It turns off and back on, I didn't loose any files, but the sim card is blocked and people can't call me then. I have the newest software, use the original charger, battery etc. Phone turns off without any massage, vibration or else, when it turns on I get the default starting screen and the phone asks me for pin and works normally afterwards.

When its sat on the kitchen table, it just dials it, more oddly it switches to loud speaker and it does it about 10-15 times same number one after anotheritched it off and back on and for a few days its ok and then it does it again. Anyone ever come across this and is it fixable

Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me
The volume on my new Nokia Lumia 920 will randomly go very low. So far this only happens when the phone has no need to make any sounds for a long period such as playing music or videos. It goes to like volume of 1/30, but increasing it to 30/30 does nothing to increase it. only putting it to 0/30 mutes as normal but still doesn't go past 1. I have had to restart my phone several times in order to temporarily fix this issue. My phone is completely up to date with the software.

I know I can shut it down and then wait some amount of time and then restart it, but is there a way to just restart it without the shutdown-wait-power-on dance?
The current process is made more annoying because I don't know exactly when the 950XL has completely shutdown and thus I don't know when to hit the power button.
Phone randomly crashing? I've had nothing that ties the crashes together, but I've had at least a dozen in the 48 hours I've had it. I've made sure the phone is up to date with updates and all apps are updated. I can't think of anything. The only thing close to common is with a few crashes I was playing audio.

Yesterday the battery got really hot and it kept showing resume on the screen. I turned it off and then back on and it was fine. Other times it acts like the back button is being pressed all the time, and sometimes the phone is just unresponsive to anything. Restarting it seems to fix it but only for a short time.

Hard reset (*#7370#), format of microSDHC, removal of microSDHC, run clean (no apps, no contacts, no bookmarks, no calendar entries - & no microSDHC) -- and still it shuts down. White screen shows, followed by Nokia Logo, then off.
Tried keeping bluetooth on this morning because someone said they tried that on their E72. This thing has gone off several times already today while searching for the a solution here. Battery maybe
I just bought my new E72, it shutdowns after 10 seconds or less , the screen just disappears, it's been now charging for 9 hours and still nothing happened, And after I plug the charger it also takes less than 10 seconds and the screen disappears too.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have this problem since day one. Build .29, then came the FW update, then build .63, always the same. I did a hard reset three times since I have the phone but the problem is still here. And now to the actual problem: I have a plantronics voyager legend headset and sometimes during a call, sometimes when not in a call, the phone disconnects from the headset and it seems to be frozen, I can't even unlock the screen for 5-10 seconds. Bluetooth option becomes gray and sometimes BT turns on again after 10-15s, sometimes I have to reboot the phone because BT can't be turned on. Same thing happens when the phone is connected to my car, but when it's playing music on bluetooth speaker, everything is working ok.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a 1520(used to have a 1020) and my brother has a 1020. Of course i have to deal with her complaints when something goes wrong since i pushed her to a Lumia 1020 ....
What happens is, for whatever reason WIFI just randomly stops working. It'll show she is connected(both in the Icon at the top where you swipe and under settings/wifi) yet it doesn't actually load anything.
She'll be searching on Bing, Facebook, etc etc and she'll get the loading dots at the top of her screen that'll run endlessly. I have to then go into her settings and turn off wifi and then back on and it'll start working but then eventually it does it again shortly where there is no data or whatever.
This problem has been occurring since I have used the 1520. Never did I experienced this with my 920 before.
Anyways, music randomly stops playing and I can't seem to get it back to playing if I don't restart THE WHOLE PHONE. It's very annoying and no this is not an Xbox Music issue since I've tried MixRadio, the Hub Tile and other third party players and this is still happening. Whatever skipping of songs I do it still won't play. Songs are switching but it's stuck on the 'pause' button but it's not playing.. No sounds, time is not running. REALLY annoying.
So, I plugged my phone into my PC. I opened the Windows Phone App for Desktop and the phone asked for me to enter my password. I entered the password and it went to the home screen, then shut down. It sat dark for a second then showed the AT&T Logo, and then went black again. It's been about an hour, and if the battery were dead it should have already shown the battery symbol. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having some issues with my SD CARD (it had to be scanned for errors constantly) so I eventually took it out. About the same time the Phone started to randomly reboot itself over and over until I plugged it in. To be more clear it got stuck in a reboot cycle where it would start to boot and then shut off and then start to boot and then shut off. The only thing I could do to stop it would be to plug it in.
Steps taken:
Took out SD Card
Factory reset
Carrier: AT&T
Windows Phone 8.1 update
When the battery is full or plugged in I can't reproduce the issue, but when it's lower then 60% or so, I can repro the issue by changing between apps or selecting airplane mode and then switching the wifi on. Basic multitasking appears to set it off.
I charge my phone at night but the last few weeks it has the strange habbit to stop charging wait for a while and start charging again.
