Lumia Icon :: Hard Reset On Phone Following DP 8.1 Install
Dec 2, 2014Loaded DP 8.1 on my Nokia Icon last week. I like the expanded feature set, but it has become increasingly buggy (wifi/bluetooth issues, etc.). I want to do a hard reset, since I would prefer not to wipe all the data and/or inadvertently reset it to original factory specs if possible. I am particularly worried about losing music files/playlists on the device.

Jul 11, 2015I updated to windows 10 mobile and proceeded to do a hard reset, well my icon died during the reset and is now in an infinite loop where it charges enough to turn on then tries to do the reset before dying and starting the cycle over again.
Is there any way to stop my icon from turning on while charging? Or any other way to fix this? I'm really not trying to have to switch back to my 822.

I have plugged my phone into my PC and it won't read it. What do I do? I need my phone for work. Oct 30, 2011I recently got a Blackberry Curve 9300 about 3 months back and have had no troubles till last week. I have shifted base from India to the UK and am currently on O2. The blackberry was purchased in India. Since the last week my BB has been randomly showing up the wait icon (the small clock), gets frozen and draining the battery very fast. Jul 6, 2015So i bought the samsung s6 edge today, and i was very exciting unpacking and setting things up until i start to get these random sound message icon popping up allong with a little "bleep" sound. The phone does does about every 1 to 5 mins, both locked and unlocked. I cant seem to find where this is coming from, as i havent installed any apps yet (just synchronised my s6 with my old s3 via smart switch, where i synchronised my contacts, s planner and notes). I also saw a message pop up: "cannot download right now, try again later" (this is translated from dutch so i'm not sure if its the exact massage when given in english) (this pop up may be irrelevant but i'm trying to give as much info as i can )

Jul 5, 2010I've done a search and read some previous posts, and cannot work out why my N900 is randomly rebooting.I have manually restarted my phone and checked the boot count is reset to 0
I have attempted doing a nokia software updater firmware update and it confirms i'm on the latest firmware (10.2010.19.1) and i've used the app updater and updated all apps. It has happened before i enabled the extras-devel repository, so I doubt the fault lies there.
Since i restarted the device prior to running "cat /proc/bootreason" i can't find out the reason why it rebooted, but i will update this post as soon as it does it again.
I recieved this phone from Optus Australia, and is running a number of apps from both the ovi store and the app manager. The only apps i have installed from the extras-devel repository are unrar and unzip apps, although i did note that it updated a few other apps at the same time, like flashlight.

Sep 28, 2012I'm having an odd problem with my Lumia 800, The phone randomly shuts down, it doesn't seem to be related to the power levels as it does it when fully charged. It can go 2 days or 5 minutes before doing this. The odd thing is that to turn it back on I have to plug it into my PC, it comes back on immediately... it does not seem to come on if I plug it into the mains. This is a recent issue it worked for a couple of months without any issues.

It turns off and back on, I didn't loose any files, but the sim card is blocked and people can't call me then. I have the newest software, use the original charger, battery etc. Phone turns off without any massage, vibration or else, when it turns on I get the default starting screen and the phone asks me for pin and works normally afterwards.

Jan 26, 2016I have this problem since day one. Build .29, then came the FW update, then build .63, always the same. I did a hard reset three times since I have the phone but the problem is still here. And now to the actual problem: I have a plantronics voyager legend headset and sometimes during a call, sometimes when not in a call, the phone disconnects from the headset and it seems to be frozen, I can't even unlock the screen for 5-10 seconds. Bluetooth option becomes gray and sometimes BT turns on again after 10-15s, sometimes I have to reboot the phone because BT can't be turned on. Same thing happens when the phone is connected to my car, but when it's playing music on bluetooth speaker, everything is working ok.

Nov 8, 2012I have just bought a Lumia 920 today, and now have the problems described in the thread subject... Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me

Nov 26, 2012The volume on my new Nokia Lumia 920 will randomly go very low. So far this only happens when the phone has no need to make any sounds for a long period such as playing music or videos. It goes to like volume of 1/30, but increasing it to 30/30 does nothing to increase it. only putting it to 0/30 mutes as normal but still doesn't go past 1. I have had to restart my phone several times in order to temporarily fix this issue. My phone is completely up to date with the software.

Apr 9, 2014I have a 1520(used to have a 1020) and my brother has a 1020. Of course i have to deal with her complaints when something goes wrong since i pushed her to a Lumia 1020 ....
What happens is, for whatever reason WIFI just randomly stops working. It'll show she is connected(both in the Icon at the top where you swipe and under settings/wifi) yet it doesn't actually load anything.
She'll be searching on Bing, Facebook, etc etc and she'll get the loading dots at the top of her screen that'll run endlessly. I have to then go into her settings and turn off wifi and then back on and it'll start working but then eventually it does it again shortly where there is no data or whatever.
