Lumia Icon :: How To Retrieve Backed Up Files After Performing Reset
Oct 9, 2014
I started my phone with the wrong Microsoft account - I want to reset my phone and put in the correct account. I have backed up all my files when connected to my desktop. My phone is being backed with the backup feature - after reset how do I retrieve that backup and what will I lose -
Can not retrieve my backed up files from my stolen phone, my phone was stolen, bought a new one and i have been trying tp restore the files i baacked up before but to no success
i have voice recordings and pictures that are in my backed up folder on my computer, but my phone is backed up to two days ago. how do i get those files that are on my computer onto my phone??
I took my phone into apple today as it was broken, I was still under warrenty so knew i would be given a new handset so ensured i backed all my pictures and contacts on itunes. I have got home and spent all night trying to put everything back onto my new phone, but my pictures and contacts don't seem to be there. Instead it added all the pictures off my laptop and not from my previous handset I'm not bothered about my contacts but there are some pictures that i would be really upset to lose of my nephew.
I backed up my iphone this evening just before it crashed. I just purchased a new iphone 4 and I cannot locate where to go in itune to download all my contact, photos, app, music into my new phone.
I have a first generation Storm and the charging port has evidently worn down to the extent that can't be reliably used. On top of that I have some memos backed up that are invaluable to me. What is the best way to retrieve that data? Does the file icon available at each memo's location provide any alternatives?
When I copied over my music files using my pc I also copied over some text files to my phone. I have been searching about how to be able to view and open the text files.
It started with the windows phone app not responding to my phone. But when I looked into windows explorer, my Icon was there but it was empty. I have no access to the pictures on my phone. Neither can I copy any files into it. So Denim has done something to my phone's USB function. I switched computers already and its the same problem. I have hard reset my Icon already twice with the same result.
I will be setting up my new Icon this evening. I will need to transfer music and a few text files. Will I be able to plug the Icon into my computer and transfer the the directories that contain my music and text files.
Loaded DP 8.1 on my Nokia Icon last week. I like the expanded feature set, but it has become increasingly buggy (wifi/bluetooth issues, etc.). I want to do a hard reset, since I would prefer not to wipe all the data and/or inadvertently reset it to original factory specs if possible. I am particularly worried about losing music files/playlists on the device.
I updated to windows 10 mobile and proceeded to do a hard reset, well my icon died during the reset and is now in an infinite loop where it charges enough to turn on then tries to do the reset before dying and starting the cycle over again.
Is there any way to stop my icon from turning on while charging? Or any other way to fix this? I'm really not trying to have to switch back to my 822.
I recently sent my 9500 away for repair and as advised backed-up the pictures, contacts etc using the desktop manager. I got the BB back today but can't return the data to the phone. It has stored as an IPD file, which I can't open and I'm at a loss on how to proceed.
I currently have a blackberry curve 8520, which has a broken screen, the 'white screen of death' as its been know, and I have managed to navigate around the phone without a screen to back up my files to my blackberry desktop software.however, I have been upgraded to a blackberry bold 9780 witch runs a newer version of blackberrys OS system, I'm not sure which one. Is it possible to transfer my settings from the backed up files from my curve 8520 to my new bold 9780, and would this have any effect on the newer system?
I've backed up my device and I was planning on copying the old files on to my new model blackberry, but I wont have my new device for a few weeks, and my current model is broke, so I'm stuck with an old Sony Ericson, but I need to view my files to get my contacts and passwords etc, so is it possible to view my files on my computer without attaching my old phone which is broken?
I backed up my Blackberry using BB Desktop software to my Mac about two months ago. I'm giving my Mac to a family member, who is NOSY and I want to make sure they can't recover /snoop through my personal information (backed up texts, MMS's, etc). Is there a way to delete the backed up texts before I give the Mac to them? I don't want them seeing my personal messages/backed up info.
I Recently updated my phone to ICS. After updating i decided to do backup and restore.verything looks great but I can't see the apps installed on my SD card. How can i restore the apps form my SD card? My SD card shows a huge amount of unallocated space. Everything is detailed like pictures, apps, music and all.. but there is some missing space on it.
My Storm is unreliable as it periodically crashes to a white screen with something like "JVM Error 102r", I returned it to vodafone and it was sent away and returned with the latest software installed. However the samecrash keeps occuring, rather than sending it away for 1 - 2 weeks for a software reinstall I do it myself from the Blackberry Desktop Manager, this is a pain and an inconvinience but I have to live with it untill my contract ends and I can leave blackberry for ever.
My more immediate problem is that my home PC crashed and while I was setting up my new home PC my Blackberry also crashed. I downloaded and installed the latest Desktop Manager on to the new PC but I was unable to install and update my Blackberry to V5 software the reason being a connection error "cant connect you may need to enter a password"
I installed an older version of Desktop Manager which gives me access to v4.7 which installed successfuly however, and this is my pressing issue, I can not restore from my back up files (either the backup.ipd files or via the backup cab files) the reason it gives is "you do not have permission to open this file" so is it a windows 7 issue or a Blackberry issue? as I cant even copy the files(s) from my back up usb drive to the new computers HDD.
i am taking the back up of all the files through the desktop software and it is getting save in one folder named Blackberry. but i am not able to retrieve the fileswhen i m opening the files ,something 2 is coming, not the readable material. It is coming like....Inter@ctive Pager Backup/Restore File[1]cAlarmsBrowser Push OptionsAttachment DataAttachment OptionsMMS Messages...guys this is coming wt i hv mentioned above...i want to get back all my text messages...what i hv backed up.....but not able to get it...n one more thing when i m taking back up more than one times ,,,same photos are getting copied that many times..so by this way,
I am presently locked out accessing applications where a blackberry ID is required. I have used the links to reset the password and received a message to say that an e-mail has been sent to my blackberry e-mail address though for security it will not be sent to my phone. I don't know how I can retrieve that e-mail. I just wish to reset my ID password?
