Nokia :: E71 How To Change Region Of Keypad?

I have recently bought an E71 in Oman, where I work and live, with an Arabic/English keyboard.There is so much squashed on each key (and the English bit was so small) that I have decided to change to an English only keyboard.I have done this at a cost of 15GBP whilst visiting Dubai.It works fine except that some of the keys do not now create on screen what is pressed on the keyboard.For example if i press the '?' or the 'Full stop' is not where it should be.In other words the phone still thinks that i have an Arabic / English keyboard and not an English only keyboard.Its like an American and UK 'PC' keyboard. The @ is located in different places for example.I believe that I need to change a setting or add some software.Can any one advise (simply) what I need to do to correct this issue if possible.links to software, instructions etc.

I upgraded the firmware to the latest version for E63 (500. somthing) but when the phone was restarted, it asked for region and i accidentally selected the wrong region. How do i correct/change it to the correct one?

I got hacked via pressed on a link in my mail from Apple. They said that i had to change my password and got tricked on 52$.
The problem is that i cant change credit card number (because its not mine or working..) my credit card is registered in Sweden and the hacker changed region and country to USA. So I cant change country to Sweden because i dont have the right payment and billing information. And i cant change my credit card because my credit card is registered in Sweden!

I bought a new IPhone, I have my location setting as UK by mistake but and i want to change it to United Arab Emirates as i can't download anything from Store unless i fill credit data or enter a valid Postcode.

I have a Nokia E72 and I am otherwise pleased with it, but when the phone is in the jeans pocket keypad often opens by itself. It is not nice at all
I would like to know is there any possibility to change the keys that lock opens. Is there even theoretical possibility to change those keys? Clearly left softkey - right softkey combination is not a good option for me

With my E71x whenever I activate the driving directions after about 30 seconds I get an error that says "Not available in your country/region" and it goes back to the map. I'm using version 3.01 of nokia maps because 3.03 kept telling me I had no access to install it.

I have used Maps 2.0 last year on my N95 on vacation in Indonesia and bought a month license for spoken navigation. Needless to say this has expired, but can't be renwed (to my knowledge). This year I want to go to Indonesia again, but the online store (in my phone) only lists Europe (€ 2.99/month or € 9.99/year) now. Is there a way to obtain other regions for Maps 3.01? (I'm not counting on a free version for the N95 any time soon)

I was just wondering why my Nokia N97 mini has a QWERTZ keypad and not a QWERTY keypad.It's a RM-555. I don't understand, the Y and Z keys have swapped places, doesn't make sense to me!

I have just got a Nokia 5230 and when using the pre-installed Ovi Maps after about 30 seconds of the voice assisted directions I get the message not available in this country/region. It is the 3.01 version. I have tried to down load the 3.04 version and it says that it is installed.

Just picked up a brand new X6.When I try to activate my one year free "comes with music" theres a message saying my pin is not valid for this region..I live in the Netherlands, surely that can't be the problem :-)Any feedback would be nice.O and yes I have entered the correct pin, multiple times I must say..

I just upgraded my blackberry curve 8520 smartphone to the newest software upgrade. Now when I lock the keypad I need to press the mute button to unlock it. My problem is, when I put the phone in my holster it always unlocks itself by rubbing the mute button in my holster. Is there any way to change the button to unlock the keypad?

I have recently updated my phone manually to ICS and found out that 2 days ago,my SI (1253-8116) has been listed for the update..problem is,I flashed my firmware by downgrading it to .42 by using ftf I got somewhere in this forum..question is, will if effect anything as I am using other region and SI?

I have a China variant of the 1520 RM-939.
I want to flash the LATAM version, RM-938.
I read a lot of posts that said it is not possible. But, what if I had a developer account and could unlock it, would that enable me to flash a different regions ROM?
If so, doed hardware in the phone will support the new LTE bands in the LATAM rom?

I'm the unfortunate owner of a (belgian, Mobistar) branded SK17i. The mobistar branding was not evident when I bought the phone, or I would not have bought anything but a generic BE phone.As of yet, there is still no update for my phone (still on .335).know the region code for Generic BE? I'd like to try my luck at editing build.prop and tricking SEUS into updating my phone to a non-branded firmware.Extra marks for pointing out where to find this information (it must be available on the web somewhere... only I couldn't find it)

Greetings to all on HoFo! Long time lurker, first time poster. Please stay tuned after the question for some remarks.I purchased an HTC Hero months ago from Amazon before I was aware that TELUS was bringing them to Canada. While I love the phone there are a few issues that I would like to address, namely that the there isn't a Canada (English) region to choose when setting up the phone.I have tried my best to search through this and the xda forums, and haven't found out how to correct this. I assume that I will need another ROM, one that has the language/region. Further, I am unable to use 3G on the Fido network, only EDGE and I can't access paid content in the Market, though I think I read somewhere that the EDGE/Market issue is a Fido/Rogers problem (along with the SMS time stamp issue) and there may not be anything I can do for it.
I suppose the big question I have is: what would be missing from this phone that I would want to add in order to take full advantage of the phone?I would also like to thank you all for helping in the past. I have owned several phones (P4000 amongst others) and have always come here to find the answer. Great site and thanks in advance!

Noticed a white hazy region at the top region of pictures taken at night with the xenon flash on? It seems to be because of the placement of the flash above the lens and maybe some mistiming between the firing and the shutter closing instant?

It has become clear that Motorola's tactic is to provise updates and meet promises in a fragmented way, the main issue with Xoom is the multiple number of models and builds to an extent that Motorola is not sure anymore how to handle the updates with many variables and region differences, and their way to handle this is by creating more fragmentation, the US Verizon Models were the first to receive the 3.1 update followed by the US Wifi ones, later will be non-US Wifi upfate to 3.1 possibly with sd card enabling, followed by non-US 3g with the same update and finally back to the US Verizon 4g upgrade and sd enabling concurretly or sd after 4g.Some have predicted this when the US upfate started and Motorola denied at the time. Now it is clear this is the plan.

I have a problem with my Nokia N73.Recently I turned off the phone and when I turned it on again my keyboard wasn't working any more. It only showed the time/date settings (which I couldn't set because of keyboard malfunction). After some time, or some calls received - one part of the keyboard started working - all of it except little joystick) and I still couldn't navigate through menu. Whenever I switch off the phone it goes back to full non-working phase for some time.I can't hard reset it because "green", * and 3 are not working when I switch off the phone, and reseting the phone throug USB is also not working because I can't set my phone to offline mode because I can't use the joystick.

When in dim light the key the keypad light is not coming on when I press any key. I have looked in the manual, tried different settings for the sensor and looked at online forums. No solution exists. The only way to make it work is by blocking the sensor with your finger. Obviously this is not a good solution. Is this a malfunction or is Nokia stupid to design the phone like this? On any model of Nokia on the press of a key the keypad backlight should come on.
