Feb 10, 2015Mic issue with the 1520 for those who don't know, certian 1520 have a issue wit the mic when on a phone call. it only works with bluetooth hands free, but the weird thing is the mic works on cortana and on the voice record, weird, I perfer to use my bluetooth but I wan a 100% working phone

Jul 18, 2015Updated my 1520 to the latest TP. Full format post update, etc. Got everything up and running. Cortana. My goodness. It opened every few seconds. I got to the point that I hated using the phone at all because Cortana would just launch, interrupting anything I was doing. Almost went back to 8.1 until I remembered to check the screen sensitivity settings. Yep. Win10 sets it to high for some reason. Changed to normal and it's worked tremendously.
Go to settings and Extras. You will find an old 8.1 menu there. Change in "touch."I was about to throw this phone across the room. Now if they would let us disable the search button all together or require a ~3 second press and hold to launch Cortana. Until then, for the love of god set sensitivity to normal to keep Cortana at bay.

I read a lot of posts that said it is not possible. But, what if I had a developer account and could unlock it, would that enable me to flash a different regions ROM?
If so, doed hardware in the phone will support the new LTE bands in the LATAM rom?

Dec 14, 2012I just got my new lumia 920, and apperently my store was in sweeden.So i got the phone, turned it on and changed the language to norwegian, it freezes up all the time. and i have to do a hard reset (volume down + powerbutton)
And then i did a factory reset.. and i thought.. maybe it works okey if i leave it on sweedish..
So i turned it back to norwegian and it started to freeze up again. And why do the clock reset when doing a hard reset ? thats the only thing that reset back to factory default when i do hard reset.
And for some reason it looks like it's working okey now when the battery is less than 14 %, wich make my phone kind of useless..

Feb 6, 2015I was wondering if any of you had this issue. I have a LUmia 1520.3 and everything works perfectly, except that if I am listening to music and I get a txt message. If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.

Sep 15, 2014I dropped my Lumina 1520 over the weekend and trashed the screen and digitizer. Somewhat of a shock as it was less than a foot drop and I have the screen and the back protected with Ghost Armor. In any event, I have a new 1520 on the way.
My question is this. How do you transfer the device settings to the new phone? I have the option set to back it up to One Drive. I have not been successful finding a way to "restore" or download those settings.

Aug 30, 2014so I have an odd problem with a 1520. It's been updated to 8.1 Cyan OTA and everything was fine. I reset it (the usual way in Settings / About / Reset Your Phone) but now any lumia-specific settings are no longer available, so no options for motion data, or glance, etc etc.
Nokia Recovery Tool, I don't have a windows PC, so I can't go down that route.

I have only one question, is it possible to change the map language to my local language (Thai) without changing the phone language?
Example, now I set my phone language as English then my map shown in English else set phone language to Thai then map will show in Thai.
Is it possible to used phone language in English but map label shown in Thai? because phone language in Thai has many incorrect translations.

Dec 30, 2015when try to search for something as usual: one click on the search button, Cortana opens, then type something, use the arrow or the web search touch button; Cortana closes itself! I did two soft resets, (long pressing the power button, that's what it does right?) Same behavior. web search suggestions are working fine. whenever I click on one of them it closes itself. I think it just started today.
I have unlocked 950/dual-sim/usa/ build xx.29 / no firmware upgrade. When I open edge and do the search in the address line it works, opens bings for the search phrase.

Please stay tuned after the question for some remarks.I purchased an HTC Hero months ago from Amazon before I was aware that TELUS was bringing them to Canada. While I love the phone there are a few issues that I would like to address, namely that the there isn't a Canada (English) region to choose when setting up the phone.I have tried my best to search through this and the xda forums, and haven't found out how to correct this. I assume that I will need another ROM, one that has the language/region. Further, I am unable to use 3G on the Fido network, only EDGE and I can't access paid content in the Market, though I think I read somewhere that the EDGE/Market issue is a Fido/Rogers problem (along with the SMS time stamp issue) and there may not be anything I can do for it.
I suppose the big question I have is: what would be missing from this phone that I would want to add in order to take full advantage of the phone?I would also like to thank you all for helping in the past. I have owned several phones (P4000 amongst others) and have always come here to find the answer. Great site and thanks in advance!

Nov 12, 2014I have recently bought a 1520 (a HK variant with GBIE firmware) and on inserting a giffgaff sim I can only access 3g/4g (there is no 4g in my area so it shifts to 2g then back to 3g, 3g signal isn't great).
Any way to enable access to 2g in the settings, if this is going to be changed in denim or if it is best to change the firmware version?

Nov 23, 2014I performed a hard reset on my 1520 due to the camera freezing up on me after I pressed the shutter button. However, a new issue has arrived. Once I set up my phone again, using my most recent backup, I signed into all of my apps as usual, and then I found myself in Settings setting up my notifications sounds, banners, etc. But, the list was very short. The only apps in the list were the initial apps on the phone: messaging, phone, the email accounts, etc. Before I performed my hard reset, the notifications list included 6tag, Kik, and every other app that had notification abilities. Now, they are gone.

Jan 29, 2014Don't know if this was posted before, but I've found out that the screen sensitivity issue is related to screen brightness settings. If I switch auto brightness off and set it to medium, then the issue disappears. However, if I set it to high I can reproduce the issue immediately.
Touch sensitivity in settings is set to normal.

Nov 9, 2014Backup is only backing up settings and not apps so if i try to back up the apps it gets stuck on 8%, if i turn app back up off and only backs up settings it will back up fine.
I am on 8.1.1 preview, I've deleted the preview app turned glance off and have no lock screen photo, tired soft reset & deleting old backups but still stuck ....
